Chapter 189: I Love You Aurora Spencer!

"Are you alright?"

Those are the words Alex asked the moment Aurora opened the door.

Aurora sighs and slightly shakes her head.

"It would be a lie if I said I am alright...I’m exhausted!"

Seeing her faint smile made Alex feel concerned for her.

He gazed into her eyes for a moment before replying, "I understand. You need to rest now, Rory. Let’s go," he said, guiding her to their bedroom.

"Your dad will be fine. He appears happy when he enters your house. Let’s hope he will be staying there for a long time." Alex explained while opening the bedroom door and letting her step in first before he closed the door behind them.

Aurora simply smiled after hearing that; she was happy that her father had finally moved into their house.

However, she feels tired now, not because of those matters but because of the call she just received.

"I’m not that tired, Alex. I was just annoyed after talking to my cousin. I mean, Spencer matters..."

Aurora shrugs as she walks toward the comfy sofa in the corner of their bedroom and rests her back against it.

Alex was surprised to hear that. He remained still, looking at her with concern, though his eyes radiated anger.

"What do they want now?" he inquired, his tone a bit frosty.

Aurora smiled as she noticed his irritation.

"Can you come sit with me? I need your hug, not your glare..." She playfully teased him.

As if someone had given him a sharp slap on the back of his head, Alex quickly walked over to the sofa and sat beside her. He held her close for a moment before finally asking.

"Have they troubled you again? Please, don’t handle this alone, Rory. Let me help you, alright?"

Alex sincerely suggested. He wished to spare Aurora from any further issues with the Spencer Family.

"Not in a direct way. However, my cousin Lucas reached out to me, pleading for help..."

"Help?"

"Hmm!"

Aurora gazed up to meet his curious eyes, then shifted her body away to see him better.

She quickly shared with him the news about her uncle, Ryan Spencer, who had been unexpectedly arrested by the police for embezzlement and not being able to pay his debts.

"I feel exhausted dealing with this group of greedy and unhelpful relatives. Why do they all approach me, hoping to take my money?"

Aurora paused for a moment to inhale deeply. ƒгeewebnovёl_com

"I mean, even though this isn’t entirely my money, it represents the dedication and effort of Aurora Spencer’s parents, right?"

"Hmm, you’re right."

"It’s shocking they would go after the money! Honestly, I’d feel much better donating it to an orphanage than giving it to them. What do you think, Alex?"

Alex smiled as he met her angry gaze. He lifted his hand and gently stroked his flushed cheek.

"I will support everything you want to do, Rory. But, please don’t stress yourself about them." Alex responded in a soothing tone, yet a tide of worry engulfed him internally.

"I know... I feel frustrated when people treat me that way. If they were just a bit kinder and more sincere, I’d happily lend a hand. It’s tough when it feels like they’re acting like gangsters."

Alex remained silent. He allowed her to vent about the Spencer family, understanding her need to channel her frustration so she could feel relieved.

After a long while.

Aurora finally stopped speaking and took a deep breath as if the tightness in her chest had been lifted.

A warm smile gradually emerged on her lips as she looked at Alex.

"I assure you, this is the final time you will hear me complain about them. I will no longer be concerned with them..."

"If you’d like to express your anger about them to me, that’s fine too..." Alex gently raised his hand and tousled her silky hair. "I’m here to hear anything you want to say."

Aurora couldn’t help but smile a little at his sweet words. She relaxed as he played with her hair and asked, "How is my dad? Does he start to be curious about me?"

Alex sighed deeply in frustration. Despite trying numerous methods, Thomas Moon appeared oblivious to any resemblance between Aurora Spencer and his daughter.

"Your dad seems a bit thoughtless. I sometimes wonder if he’s just pretending not to notice. It’s been tough because I’ve dropped a few hints, yet I could feel he still isn’t catching on." Alex smiled bitterly.

"Uh, I see. I can picture that..." Aurora responds softly, feeling slightly awful as she sees Alex’s frustration and distress.

"Well, don’t be sad, Alex; my dad has always been quite rational, strongly believes in science, and hasn’t dabbled in fantasy stories, like those involving rebirth or Eastern folklore. His knowledge mostly revolves around vampires and Greek gods."

Alex can’t hold back a laugh; Aurora’s words sound right.

"I can see that... He is clueless!"

"We can’t do much about it..." Aurora feels hopeless that her father will find out about her.

She can only pray to God to let her father know about her, simply because she wants to ease her father’s pain and loneliness.

As for other people, she didn’t want them to know about it, especially those who weren’t close enough to her. She needed to protect herself and the people around her.

"Don’t worry, I’ve asked him to explore East Asian movies and dramas about rebirth. I hope your dad can embrace those intriguing supernatural concepts!"

Alex proudly said, but Aurora almost laughed out loud.

"There’s no need to hurry about that, Alex. If it’s meant for my dad to know, God will let him know... don’t you think?"

"Hmm, you’re correct about that." Alex nodded in agreement. "Your rebirth is genuinely a miracle. It’s best not to share it with others."

"That’s what I decided recently. I just try to reveal myself to the people dearest to me—those I consider my closest family and whom I trust."

Alex’s heart swelled as he realized he held a special place in her heart. "Thank you for taking the time and making so much effort to tell me, Rory!"

Alex moved closer, kissing her gently and whispering, "I love you, Aurora Moon!"

"Spencer! You need to accept this. I am Spencer now..."

"I love you, Aurora Spencer—"
