Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 178: You Are Talented!
Chapter 178: You Are Talented!
In the main house.
Chef Drew is busy in the kitchen preparing the fresh ingredients that Alex just requested.
After a while, he turned to see Martin. "Are you serious? Boss asked for all this?" he asked, looking at the short message on Martin’s cell phone.
"Yeah. Hurry. I need to bring all the ingredients to the stone house," Martin answered impatiently, sitting on the stool near the kitchen island. His gaze was on Drew, who continued to gather all the ingredients.
"Why did he want to cook there?" Drew asked, looking at Martin. "Why not breakfast here?"
"Well, I’m not sure. But they sleep over there!"
"What?" Drew was surprised to know that. "They are sleeping in Rory’s house?"
Martin shrugs. He is also curious about why their Master is sleeping there. Last night, he thought Alex and Aurora just wanted to go for a walk outside, but now he learned they actually spent the night there instead.
"If only I knew the answer, I would tell you..." Martin replied nonchalantly to Drew.
They were both lost in their own thoughts. Drew gathered all the ingredients Alex asked for while Martin remained absorbed in his thoughts.
Martin is trying to figure out why Alex and Aurora spend the night and even stay for breakfast at the Stone House. Not long after, he blurted out, "Drew! I think I know!"
Drew had completed all of Alex’s orders. With a curious glint in his eye, he approached Martin, his eyebrow slightly raised as he asked, "What are you talking about? Know about what?"
"Master Alex told me yesterday that if anyone is looking for them or wants to meet them, I should say they were on their honeymoon in the Bahamas."
Martin offered a faint smile before continuing. "I believe there was a reason our Master and his lovely wife didn’t go to the Bahamas, and now they are spending their night at Stone House. Do you see where I’m going with this?"
Drew was at a loss for words. He found Martin’s statement to be quite ridiculous. He knew that his boss owned numerous properties in desirable areas throughout the city. Why would he spend his honeymoon in an old stone hut in their backyard?
"Alright, stop guessing. I don’t want to hear your ridiculous guess anymore. Now, hurry up and deliver all these ingredients, or Boss Alex will scold you, Martin," Drew said, handing the box to Martin.
Martin quickly grabbed the large box. "Damn, I forgot. You are right; I have to go now..."
...
Upon his arrival, he was taken aback to find Alex waiting at the door.
"Martin, please bring some of my clothes and my wife here," Alex instructed.
He will not let Aurora wear her old clothes here, worrying that the staff in his house might be confused or even scared when they look at her and think Aurora Moon is back from the dead.
"Certainly, Sir, I will. Ugh, excuse me, Sir. May I ask you something?" Martin inquired just before Alex shut the door.
"Yes?"
With a curious smile, Martin asked, "Please forgive me if I was presumptuous, Sir. But I can see you were on your honeymoon here. May I ask why you...honeymoon in this place?"
"Why not?" Alex replied with a quick smile before closing the door.
Martin chuckled softly as he returned to the main house to get what his Master had requested.
...
When Aurora awoke, her muscles still ached, and her head felt heavy.
Aurora was slightly surprised to notice that Alex was no longer beside her.
"Where is he?" she muttered softly, looking into the dim bedroom with tightly closed curtains.
After gathering her tangled hair into a small bun, Aurora pulled back the curtain and was surprised to see the sun fully beaming in the sky.
"Why didn’t he wake me up?" Aurora murmured. It’s the first time in years she’s been awake this late, and she realizes just how hungry she is.
"Morning, sleepyhead..." Alex’s voice came from the door, startling Aurora, who had just come out of the bathroom. "Are you hungry?"
Aurora nods, feeling so hungry. "Alex, it’s already so bright outside. Why didn’t you wake me up sooner? You know I was a morning person, right?" she protested.
Alex gently cupped her face with his hands and said, "You are so peaceful in your sleep, and I know you are exhausted and didn’t sleep much last night. I was worried you would still be too tired if I woke you up too early."
He continued, "Now that you look fresh, let’s go out. Your breakfast is all set!"
Suddenly, Aurora feels her cheek warm as she recalls what happened last night. She never knew this man had such energy.
Wanting to hide her blush, she quickly stepped out of the bedroom, moving just ahead of him.
...
Aurora settled into her seat after Alex pulled it out for her. He sat right beside her.
Noticing two sets of eggs Benedict and coffee on the table, she glanced at him curiously.
"Alex, did you ask Drew to bring our breakfast here?" she asked.
"Of course not. I cooked it for us."
Aurora gasped. She never knew he could cook before.
"No way!" She can’t believe it, but Alex’s expression remains the same.
She added, "Are you serious? Since when did you know how to cook? And the food looks delicious..."
"Since today..." Alex said with a playful smile, handing her the cutlery and urging her to try it. "Rory, don’t praise me just yet; I had no idea how it would taste—could be delicious or just awful!"
Alex chuckled, feeling a warmth in his heart at the sight of her laughter. But a moment later, he felt nervous watching her start to eat, curious about her reaction.
"This is so delicious, Alex!" Aurora was amazed.
She was sure that this man had never cooked a day in his life. How could he make such a perfect Eggs Benedict? Not only did the presentation look flawless, but the taste was also perfect.
"Really?" Alex feels unable to believe he got that perfect reaction from her. He starts to doubt that Aurora only wants to praise him.
However, after just one bite, he agrees with her. "Wow! This is just like Drew usually makes it?"
Aurora no longer says anything; she immediately finishes her breakfast.
"Alex, how did you make this?" Aurora asked, curious. "Did Drew teach you?"
"No, I am watching a video online," he explained.
"Wow, you truly are a genius and a talented chef. You should cook for me more often..."
Aurora complimented him casually, yet his reply made her blush again.
"Absolutely, I will prepare breakfast for my wife each morning!"
Aurora felt a warm blush spread across her cheeks. She still wasn’t used to the way he affectionately called her like that.
