Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack-Chapter 1135 - 1115: One Skeleton
Looking at the darkness ahead once again, Luo Qianqian was filled with expectation. Misfortune might turn out to be a blessing.
Luo Qianqian gave Tang Tianyi a thumbs up, her face full of smiles.
With a life-and-death attitude, she jumped down, only to find a mysterious cave amidst the twists and turns.
But now wasn’t the time for them to completely relax.
With the help of a flashlight, the two walked hand in hand into the cave, their eyes wandering with the light, fearing unpredictable events.
Tang Tianyi walked ahead with the flashlight, while Luo Qianqian followed behind, holding a plastic bottle, ready to throw it out to explore the path.
"Qhianqhian, do you feel the temperature is dropping?" Staring at the road ahead, Tang Tianyi frowned, a strange expression on his face.
Luo Qianqian paused; they wore many layers, and temperature changes wouldn’t cause them any actual harm, so she hadn’t deliberately paid attention to it.
She chuckled indifferently and moved forward carefully, following the light to see a long tunnel, unsure where it led to, no second path in sight. Turning back, she could no longer see the way they came, but there was a faint light above, which made her heart race.
Blinking, Luo Qianqian said seriously, "Do you have something spherical?"
"I have chocolate balls," Tang Tianyi said after a moment of silence.
"That’s it, take them out, put them on the ground."
Tang Tianyi casually poured out the chocolates onto the ground and watched, as several chocolate balls rolled forward.
"Is this a slope?" Luo Qianqian frowned, "But shouldn’t the temperature rise as you get closer to the Earth’s core? There’s no reason for it to be so cold?"
"And this long tunnel, I don’t feel any lack of oxygen either," Tang Tianyi paused and frowned.
The two looked at each other, but going back didn’t seem possible, so continuing forward was their only choice.
Luo Qianqian tightly grabbed Tang Tianyi’s hand, "We’ll be alright."
Watching Luo Qianqian’s gesture, Tang Tianyi chuckled softly; he didn’t fear death, but if they could live, why choose death?
Walking forward, they traveled for an unknown amount of time until they found chocolate balls scattered on the ground, having stopped, and ahead were three doors.
Left, center, right, the doors were ancient and rustic in style yet equally daunting to Luo Qianqian, fearing another soot-blackened mishap.
"Which side?" Tang Tianyi was taken aback by the scene before him, then asked.
Luo Qianqian grimaced, why was this question asked to her, they all looked the same?
"In the middle for now, we’ll check the sides later," Luo Qianqian suggested.
Tang Tianyi nodded.
As he reached out to touch the door, a purple electric arc shocked his palm in the next second, leaving them both at a loss.
Luo Qianqian opened the bottle, her expression serious. In the flashlight’s refracted light, it was clear that a mist had risen between the door and the two.
Yet, above the mist, purple sparks flickered, disappearing instantly.
’Creak...’
A strange sound sounded, and they hurriedly looked forward, holding the flashlight level with their gaze.
The door was gradually opening, a faint light revealing itself, and the two instinctively tightened their grip on each other’s hands.
Once the door fully opened, the interior slowly unveiled before them, leaving them with expressions of surprise.
Behind the door was a huge stone chamber, looking very ancient and simple, reminiscent of an old official’s study.
On each wall were nine glowing Crystal Stones, shining brightly.
At the chamber’s center stood a massive stone table, with a stone chair behind it, upon which sat a lifeless skeleton.
This posture, combined with the environment, sent a chill of eerie coldness to both Luo Qianqian and Tang Tianyi.
On the table lay an ancient book, beside it a stone box, and on top of the skeleton hung a black ring, looking equally ancient and intriguing.
Beyond that, behind the skeleton, shelves held various precious boxes, their contents’ value imaginable.
"Did we barge into someone’s tomb?" Luo Qianqian swallowed, staring at the skeleton. Even as a non-believer, a real skeleton before her still stirred some fear.
In the four corners of the stone chamber, four square stone tables stood, each holding four Crystal Stones.
Luo Qianqian, confused, bowed three times towards the skeleton, murmuring, "No offense, no offense, unintentional intrusion, may you reincarnate happily..."
Beside her, Tang Tianyi looked speechless, yet somewhat amused.
A golden bead rolled out onto the ground, silently disappearing into a dark corner.
She glanced around the room; curious about the book on the table more than the unexplained Crystal Stones.
Tang Tianyi was observing the boxes behind the skeleton, cautious not to touch anything, fearful of traps.
Sweeping his eyes across the skeleton, Luo Qianqian patted her chest cautiously, inching closer to the stone table, puzzled by the open book.
Then, a golden light flashed, Tang Tianyi froze instantly.
The golden bead leapt onto the table, a hologram slowly emerging before Luo Qianqian.
It was a virtual image of a long-haired white-clad elder, reminiscent of sci-fi movie scenes.
The elder’s white garments flowed with an ethereal aura, his long white hair cascading to his waist, resembling the sleek silver hair people now sought after.
Kind-faced and youthful despite his crane-like aura, his face bore no trace of age.
As Luo Qianqian gawked at him, he too observed her, full of wonder.
"Young lady, would you like to become my disciple?"
"Are you human or ghost?"
Their voices, or rather his and the hologram, echoed simultaneously, startling Luo Qianqian—the figure can speak?
The elder was evidently stumped by Luo Qianqian’s question, momentarily speechless, merely twitching his mouth in silence.
After a pause, he continued, "Child, do you say I’m human or ghost?"
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes; if she knew, she’d not ask.
Clearly, given the skeleton, it should be a ghost, but without Yin Yang Eyes, how could she determine what’s human or ghost?
"If I knew, I wouldn’t have asked," Luo Qianqian replied, slightly helplessly but with some respect, as a fear of the unknown lingered within people.
