Raven's body moved instinctively as soon as he heard the explosion coming from the hotel.

B A M!

He stomped so hard on the ground that it cracked, scattering bits of dirt and rock around his feet. His muscles tensed, lightning gathering beneath his skin like a storm waiting to burst.

'KEARA AND RUBY!!!'

He exclaimed in his head, his eyes wide and a worried expression painted across his face. His mind instantly went blank except for one thing— getting there.

And in a flash...

BZZZSH—!

Raven became a literal streak of lightning, his figure disappearing completely as the ground beneath him exploded from the force of his movement. He shot toward the hotel like a thunderbolt tearing through the air!

Because the freshmen are outside and there are a lot of guards in the gate anyway, it was left open. Raven didn't even slow down when passing through; the wind pressure alone made the guards stagger in shock.

"Huh?" - Alec

Raven was already gone when Alec and the others noticed the explosion. The rumble of it echoed through the plains, and the faint black smoke was now rising from the direction of the hotel.

But just like him—

"The hotel...!" - Blake

"!!!"

They all immediately realized that something was wrong. Every single one of them froze for a heartbeat, their instincts screaming that something bad was happening.

Everyone looked at each other... It was just for a split second. But that short moment was enough to see the same expression reflected in each other's eyes— resolve.

They also noticed now that Raven was gone, but they figured he was already on his way. He was the fastest of them all, after all.

Anyway, just a second after their eyes met, everyone reached one conclusion.

They all nodded their heads in unison, and without saying anything—

BAM!!!

SWIIISH—!!!

Alec, Blake, Curtis, Eve, Adelle, and Aoi rushed toward the hotel, not wasting any more time. The sound of their movements cut through the chaos of the wind as they pushed their mana to the limit.

"..."

Then Branwen, he was left there alone, frozen in confusion. His gaze darted between the fading trails of their movements and the smoke rising from the city.

Though, his eyes were where the explosion was as well. He too understood something was going on, but instead of rushing there—

"I need to tell Sir Kendy and the tertiaries."

He decided to let the others know what was happening. His voice was low but firm, his expression tightening.

A serious expression was on Branwen's face, and with a slight frown—

'This might be the terrorist attack Raven told me about back then, but it's a day earlier than what he said.'

He said that in his mind.

Though, he shook off that thought almost immediately and focused on the important thing for now.

BAM!

Branwen kicked off toward the forest where he just came out from together with Alec earlier. Dust scattered from his sudden departure as his silhouette vanished between the trees.

Earlier... Inside the hotel where every staff and student of [Lunar Academy] was staying—

"How was your sleep last night?"

Ruby and Keara are on the second floor, eating early dinner. The light from the ceiling crystal lamps reflected off the silver utensils, casting a warm glow across their table.

"Hmm, it was good. How about you though? You have to wake up early two days in a row now to see off the students."

Keara said, a bit worried. She looked relaxed but her tone held genuine concern.

Ruby just shrugged, and with a confident smile on her face—

"It's nothing, I'm used to staying up."

She declared that, as if sleepless nights were nothing new to her.

Keara was about to say something else—

-Kyuuu!

When a sudden cute chirp interrupted her, and before she could even turn her head—

-Kyu!

Yuki landed in the middle of the table where Ruby and her are sitting side by side, flapping her tiny wings proudly.

"Hi Yuki, enjoying your time here?"

Ruby greeted the cute fluffy white bird, patting her head softly as she asked that.

And Yuki nodded her head excitedly as a response. The simple motion was enough to bring a small smile to both Ruby and Keara's faces.

Raven left her in the hotel because he wanted Yuki to relax and have fun.

Moving on— Keara smiled seeing Yuki's energetic reply. She then took a bite from the food in front of her.

And unconsciously, her brows twitched.

Ruby noticed this, and with a small laugh—

"Missing Raven's cooking?"

She teasingly asked that, a mischievous grin tugging at the corner of her lips.

"..."

Keara looked at her, but she didn't say anything. Her face is red from embarrassment though, which made Ruby laugh more.

"Haha, don't worry, I feel the same."

Ruby said to reassure her.

"It's been a while since he made something for us because he had been busy."

She added, her tone softening slightly as she stared at the table.

Then, with a soft, genuinely sweet smile on her face...

"Ever since I tasted his cooking, I started wanting to eat more of what he makes."

Ruby mumbled that, her ears turning a bit pinkish.

"Do you think he put a love potion in them to seduce us?!"

Then she jokingly followed, looking at Keara.

"Haha, he doesn't need them, Raven's already charming."

Keara immediately responded without hesitation.

"Haha, true."

Ruby laughed with her.

-Kyu!

Yuki chirped in and said she agreed as well.

A smile rested on their faces. The mood was warm, light, and peaceful.

Then at that moment—

B O O O O O O O M—!!!

A strong explosion occurred on multiple floors of the hotel! Including on the first floor!

The shockwave shattered windows and sent tremors up the walls.

"Watch out...!"

SWOOSH~

Ruby's eyes widened in shock, but she immediately made a mana shield surrounding the whole dining area, preventing any debris from falling!

"KYAAA?!"

Keara exclaimed in surprise as the whole building violently shook from the strong shockwave. Plates shattered, the ceiling cracked, and screams began echoing everywhere.

-KYUU?!

Yuki got scared and she immediately flew toward the two, trembling in panic.

"AHHHHH!!!"

"W-WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"THE WHOLE BUILDING IS SHAKING!!!"

Everyone in the dining area started shouting in panic, fear immediately consuming them— Students, Academy Staffs, Hotel Staffs.

But just then—

"CALM DOWN EVERYONE!"

Ruby's enhanced voice echoed throughout the room. And because of this; every eye gathered toward her. Her mana surged, steady and protective.

"Stay calm, help is going to come not long."

She said. And while calmly making her aura leak for everyone to feel...

"Until then, I'll be here to protect you all."

Ruby declared that.

"..."

The shouting disappeared, everyone was calmed down by Ruby's words.

Feeling her strong, but reassuring aura made them trust her. Their fear slowly turned into determination as they huddled together.

Ruby nodded her head seeing this, satisfied.

'I don't know what's happening, but I need to protect these people.'

She said in her head, looking at everyone in the room, then lastly at Yuki and Keara on her side.

The two of them are looking at her with awe, seeing how she handled the situation with ease.

Ruby smiled and opened her mouth, she was about to say something—

BAM!

But before words could even come out, the double doors of the dining area violently opened.

Everyone's eyes naturally went toward it.

And there, from the door—

"EVERYONE!!! GET ON THE FUCKING GROUND!!!"

"GET ON THE GROUND OR I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!"

"GAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Men wearing all black suits with white masks on their faces with a big red 'X' painted on them entered!

They were all armed with guns, and there were about twenty of them! Their presence filled the air with thick killing intent.

When she suddenly heard a cold, emotionless voice behind her!

An air freezing aura enveloped the area, giving everyone in the room goosebumps! Even Ruby!

"...?!"

She turned around toward the source of it, and there—

Ruby saw a hotel waiter with glasses overflowing with mana, crimson red mana!
