RE: The Extra's Dominance-Chapter 183 - Unexpected Face
Raven entered the forest again to show Levina around, they didn’t go in deep though.
He just walked along the familiar paths he had taken earlier, moving slowly this time, letting Levina observe everything at her own pace.
They encountered some enemies, but Levina took care of them in split seconds before Raven could even notice them.
He would turn his head to look, only to see the monsters’ bodies already falling over or turning into ash.
It was so fast that Kendy, who was watching from afar—
’...?’
Was confused at what was happening.
He could see Raven from where he was, but he was far enough to not sense Levina.
So what he saw was Raven casually walking... while enemies seemed to die on their own.
Anyway—
-Being in a forest with you reminds me of our first meeting hehe.
Levina said that with a small giggle.
Raven nodded his head and smiled lightly, remembering that chaotic encounter clearly.
"You nearly killed me back then."
He said.
-I held back a lot though.
Levina rebutted instantly, puffing her tone with pride.
Raven shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah, but I was like... [E+] rank at that time."
Then he replied with that.
They continued walking side by side.
The forest wind was gentle, leaves swaying quietly, the faint scent of earth and moss filling the air.
The two of them bickered back and forth, but the atmosphere around them remained warm.
It was the kind of banter that comes naturally when two people have already accepted each other’s presence without force.
And then, suddenly—
-Thanks for showing me around.
Levina muttered that, her tone unusually soft.
"..."
Raven looked down at her, in his coat where she was hiding, to be more specific.
He didn’t stop walking, but his steps slowed noticeably.
Then, looking back in front of him again—
"I’ll show you more places in the future, once I’m strong enough to reveal you in the world."
He declared that, straight and unwavering, his voice low but firm.
-...
Levina didn’t say anything after that.
But because of his connection to her, Raven can feel her smiling and happy.
That feeling gently wrapped around him like a warm blanket.
’Now, that’s one more reason to get stronger.’
He thought to himself, more resolute than ever.
...
...
...
*****
Raven and Levina spent hours in the forest, they hunted majins and walked around.
Sometimes Raven would point to a plant or a strange looking tree, explaining what he knows about it.
Levina listened attentively like a child on her first trip outside.
Raven even tried catching a cool-looking wolf beast, but it was so hostile that the moment it growled—
ZAP!
Levina zapped it off the world, not even leaving a corpse behind.
Raven stared for a few seconds.
"...I was going to keep that."
He mumbled.
Levina only giggled.
And around [6:20 PM]...
TAP-
The two of them got out of the forest and returned to the gate.
There— Eve, Adelle, Aoi, Blake, and Curtis are already waiting.
They were chatting lightly, sitting on their bags, looking like they had just finished resting.
’Hide your presence.’
Raven said in his head.
-’Don’t worry!’
Levina replied telepathically in an energetic tone. Her presence instantly disappeared as if she had never existed.
And with that, Raven approached the others.
...
"Where’s Alec?"
Raven asked as soon as he got to them.
"We don’t know, we just got here not long ago."
Adelle answered.
Aoi nodded her head, while Eve just remained silent, arms crossed as usual.
Raven looked at the two boys after that.
"..."
Curtis shrugged casually, uninterested.
"No idea too."
Then Blake said that with a stupid looking face.
"Well, let’s just wait for him, he’s probably on his way back."
He added.
Raven nodded his head, and opening his mouth—
"Let’s set up our camp then."
He suggested that.
In which, the others agreed immediately.
SWOOSH~
Curtis and the others took out tents from their spatial storage... And they all look cozy as fuck!
’Their tents look way more comfortable than my room in my past life.’
Raven thought to himself, his brows furrowing a little.
But shaking such a thought out of his head, he just took out his own tent from his spatial storage... And his didn’t shy away from the others!
Swoosh~
A five square meters tent appeared in front of him, it was color black.
And inside of it— a huge grey bed was in it, it looks soft as a marshmallow, and it’s complete with a blanket and pillows as well!
Raven and the others’ tents are no different than a comfortable hotel room!
’Modern technologies are the best.’
Raven said that in his head with a smile on his face.
The idea of being able to sleep in a comfortable bed even though they’re camping outside sure does make him happy.
’The terrorist attack will happen tomorrow, got to rest and fully prepare my body for that.’
He thought.
And then, at that moment...
"Hey guys!"
He and the others heard a very familiar voice.
They know it was Alec without even looking.
Raven turned to look at him, and he saw Alec waving at them happily.
"..."
Raven didn’t say anything and just waved back.
Though—
"Huh...?"
A familiar face suddenly entered his sight walking behind Alec.
That person saw Raven and waved their hands.
"..."
Raven didn’t respond, his mind started working very fast with [Understanding] and [Thought Acceleration].
Then, in a split second— BAM!
He decided to kick off the ground and dash to the person behind Alec!
"...?!"
Everyone’s eyes widened, they all turned to Raven who was now standing in front of that person.
They were all surprised.
But Raven ignored them all, instead—
"Why are you here?!"
He exclaimed that with urgency.
Then, confused—
"What’s with you?"
Branwen Asterope frowned and asked that to Raven.
(Branwen is a tertiary student, and the leader of [Crimson Fala].)
*****
(Raven’s POV)
"...!"
My eyes widened when I saw Branwen waving at me.
The world slowed down for me as Sariel activated [Thought Acceleration] on his own.
And in that moment—
’Why is he still here?’
’Aren’t all tertiaries supposed to be back in the hotel when it was the freshmen’s turn to go outside the Human Domain?’
A lot of questions went through my mind.
’Is it just him, or all the tertiaries that are still here?’
Then, wanting answers to my questions— BAM!
I kicked off and dashed forward, stopping in front of Branwen.
"Why are you here?!"
I urgently asked him.
"What’s with you?"
He was visibly surprised and confused by my reaction.
But seeing the seriousness in my eyes— He just scratched his head and opened his mouth.
"There were a lot more freshmen that attended the field trip than the academy had expected. The staff and professors aren’t enough to keep an eye on all of them."
"So The Headmaster tasked all of the tertiaries to help."
Branwen explained to me.
And with that information, [Understanding] immediately worked with [Thought Acceleration]:
Because of my involvement, a lot more freshmen attended the field trip.
The staff and professors aren’t enough on their own to overseer every single one of them, and so— they asked the tertiaries to help.
Because of that, all the tertiaries that were supposed to be already back in the hotel are still here outside with us.
Meaning...
’Only the sophomores and a few professors are in the hotel at the moment.’
Realization washed all over me.
I remembered Sariel’s word earlier:
[The Transcend Beings want me to tell you they have a surprise for you that will ease your boredom.]
And in that split second—
"...!"
I immediately understood that something was about to go wrong.
B O O O O O O O M—! 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
And right on mark, a large explosion was heard inside the City of Andres!
My head violently turned to the source of it, it was where the hotel was, I’m pretty sure.
So before I could even think properly—
’KEARA AND RUBY!!!’
B A M!
SWOOSH—!!
I kicked off the ground and propelled myself inside the gate!
