Re-Awakening with the Summoner's Class-Chapter 36: Jackal

Appearence of this person didn't create too much urgency in the more arrogant demon as he snapped his fingers.

A group of metallic arms slithered toward the starving demons and snatched them one by one into a small room in the corner of the castle.

Right after nothing but screams and cries for help could be heard.

As the screams continued, the demon walked back to the table, only now paying attention to the mysterious figure that had entered the room.

"Took you long enough, we waited for over 10 minutes now! Do you know how much gold we had lost because of this?"

He lashed out at the shrouded person while stuffing his face full of food, but only the good parts.

If the piece of food didn't have enough meat on it to fill his mouth, he threw it on the ground and went for another piece, filling his mouth like a gluttonous pig.

"You will be compensated once you finish creating the item."

The man said while taking a fork and knife, slowly cutting into a piece of steak in front of him.

Leo peeked over the handrails and could see marks on the man's fingers, the black void marked his bod, but in a different fashion compared to everything they have seen so far.

Lines resembling veins spread through his entire fingertips on both of his hands, pulsing uncontrolably but not going critical unlike with the dark swordsman.

"Oh yes, since we are on that topic!"

He didn't even look towards the more anxious demon, still eating his food while the creature continued.

"We are almost done, the prototype will be sent out in a few minutes as a show just for you."

Sound of the utensils landing on the table rang as the shrouded man stood up and walked over to the demon speaking, much to the other ones disappointment.

"What's so great about a few Jackap types, what we are working on is much better."

But the human didn't care, now fully paying attention to what the anxious demon had to say.

"And as a bonus, we had finished our part of the item."

The demon noble called for his slave to bring him the item. As to not take the beating the enslaved monster ran for it.

After only a minute, they had a chest in front of them, the excited man opened it in an instant and laughed loudly.

Neither Fearmonger or Leo could see what that item was due to where they were, however they could feel the radiating energy coming from it that shook the entire room.

"As per our contract, we won't interrupt with the matters of Delta Family. And as an incentive to work faster for your acquaintance."

A swift strike slashed the room on the opposite side of the table, as the shrouded man cut off the gluttonous demon's arm.

"AHG! Why did you do that!? Oh my god, it hurts!!"

It cried out in pain while grabbing the wound with his other hand, tightly gripping it together.

Green particles appeared around the stub of the cut arm, but it didn't heal as the demon expected it to, instead, it burned even harder.

The wound only stopped getting worse once the gluttonous demon turned off his regenerative ability, he lay there on the ground crying in confusion.

"I hope your next report will have more to show than it did this time, Gluttera of the Gamma family."

Those words filled the demon with dread. It picked up the cut-off arm and ran outside in a hurry, pushing away all of the slaves in his path.

Then they could hear the steps of the demon and a human in a cloak.

"Now let's go to the roof to see the Jackals. Once I make sure everything is up to par, I will relay the information to Nebula."

[Gloppy if you are on the roof then run away right now!]

No answer.

[Gloppy?]

[Ruby! Sapphire?! Emerald?!!]

Still nothing.

[We are going up right now.]

He told The Fearmonger. Once she held him they flew from the outside up, before the duo they were spying on made it there.

They could hear loud howling coming from the roof, but it didn't sound natural at all, instead it held like a voice coming through a radio.

The whole castle shook and the roof began to fall apart. Its rubble fell downwards into the insides of the building.

Now instead of one howl, two could be heard.

CRASH!

Something got sent flying through the air towards them, the red color of it made Leo realize that it was Ruby.

He jumped onto the walls of the structure to allow her faster movement and began to climb up as quickly as possible.

But just in case Gloppy and the others were in grave danger he switched to the Hermit Turtle Style.

In no time at all he had reached the roof where he saw what the demon of the Delta family had mentioned earlier.

Two creatures made out of metal and flesh towered over the group of slimes. They looked like oversized spiders, standing on four legs connected to a small cube in the middle.

"Are those the people who will test out our Jackals?"

The cloaked figure asked as he spotted Leo and the slimes through the hole in the ceiling. It didn't seem like he cared that much, but the demon guiding him towards the roof looked terrified.

It tried to control the metalic arms to go and grab the intruders, but due to the earlier rubble none of them were able to reach them.

As soon as Leo saw that, he summoned 12 medium-sized serpents, spending around 10 summon slots on each one.

With that much of a firepower, he commanded them all to blast the unsuspecting Jackal away.

All of his summons hit one of the two robots which destroyed its leg, but instead of falling over it just adapted to having only 3 now and jumped off the castle, running towards the exit gate.

"Fearmonger! Go for Nyssa and Zeph and fly after this goddamn thing!"

Leo shouted as he went to help Gloppy get up, once they grouped up together again, they had to think of an idea while also avoiding the Jackals attacks.

[Cannon Barrage]

Gloppy tried to harm it with cannonballs but they barely left a scratch, if they wanted to deal substantial damage they would need to hit it right in the core.

The summoner switched to Balanced Overdrive to allow them more freedom with their moves as he dodged its attacks one by one.

"Weird... It's surprisingly easy to deal with."

Emerald thought while looking at the two men fighting against it. Its attacks were way too manageable for a monster of this caliber.

"Now!"

A serpent as long as Slimy Pearl appeared on top of them, already charged up with enough energy to burn down the whole castle.

Before the Jackal could react it unleashed the powerful attack, swallowing the metallic creature whole.
