"What? Aren't you going to say anything? Are you mesmerized by my greatness?" Raya's arrogant voice was suddenly heard.

But there was one problem?

"Where are you? We can't see you and your voice seems to be coming from every direction" Muku spoke while looking all over the place.

The girls were doing the same. It really sounded like Raya was everywhere.

"What do you mean? I'm literally standing in front of you" Raya replied confusedly.

"Ahem! Let me help you out with this. You see, the reason why you can't see her is simply that you are too weak. Mortals have no right to see the divine beings without permission" Mrs C spoke from behind the group.

There was an amused smile on her face as she looked directly at Raya. Obviously, she could see the dragon girl flexing her non-existent muscles in front of the group.

"What?" Muku asked in confusion.

What the hell was she talking about? And wasn't this something she should have mentioned before Raya ranked up?

"Exactly as I said. Well, let me explain a bit more then. You see, from unranked to R6, you're what's called the mortal stages. From R7 and beyond, you become divine. R7-R9s are the semi-divine stage to be exact. But that's still not something any of you can go against. With Raya's current power, destroying 30 solar systems in a single attack is relatively easy. She'll be able to destroy at least 300 at her peak. A new R8, can destroy 1000 at least. Then maybe 10 000 after that. R9 is definitely galaxy-level. As for beyond that, let's talk about it when you reach R9" Mrs C gave them more context.

"Oh... But what do you mean we'll talk then? Why not now? Isn't it obvious that they'll be able to destroy multiple galaxies at once?" Muku asked.

"You would think so wouldn't you? But it's not that simple. Think about the difference between you and Raya right now. You can't even destroy a solar system in your best state yet she can destroy 10. That should give you an idea of the power differences between stages. It goes beyond ranks. Anyway, that doesn't matter right now. What you want is to see Raya right? I'll help you since she can't do it herself yet..." Mrs C clarified then pulled the conversation back on track.

With a snap of her fingers, Muku and the others were able to see Raya. Then...

"Aghhhhh! My eyes!" Muku and the girls began screaming in pain while grabbing their eyes the moment they looked at Raya.

They couldn't even see her clearly before the excruciating pain hit them.

With another snap, Raya was invisible to them again, and their eyes were also fixed.

"And that's why Mortals can't see Divines. It's for their safety. You're all lucky that you're R6s. If it were R5s and below, their heads might have... no, they would have definitely exploded. "I figured a live demonstration would be more practical" Mrs C replied honestly.

She definitely didn't do it because she enjoyed seeing them in pain.

"Whatever. Since she's done, I'll go ne..." Muku was about to go next when someone sprinted ahead of him.

It was Jade of course.

"Hehe. I refuse to wait any longer. I want to be stronger than you just for a little while!" Jade said childishly.

"Fine. Did whatever you want" Muku spoke with a deadpan expression on his face.

There was no need to compete when everyone was going to advance soon anyway, besides...

"Mother, can you make it so that we can all advance at once without getting in each other's way?" Muku asked with expectation in his voice.

"Smart kid. Of course you can. However, I suggest waiting until after she advances. Her advancement will likely be the most interesting one today" Mrs C replied simply.

"Okay," Muku agreed immediately. If she said it was going to be interesting then it definitely was going to be interesting.

Everyone paid extra attention after her words. Even the invisible Raya. They all wanted to see what this interesting thing was.

The clouds didn't delay as they appeared as soon as Jade promoted the trial to begin.

They were the same golden clouds as before. But this time, no attack came even after a few minutes which confused everyone.

Before they could ask anything, Mrs C snapped her fingers and a huge screen appeared in front of them.

An interesting scene was being shown on it. It was Jade merrily enjoying beating up Muku.

"This is Beastie's soul tribulation. It seems we are a bit late and missed the beginning. Anyway, it probably started with her getting tempted by "Muku" with something almost irresistible. If she had agreed, she would have failed the advancement and be stuck at R6 forever if she doesn't find some special means to help her break through after that. But that's clearly not a problem for her" Mrs C spoke with a hint of being impressed in her voice.

"...." Muku didn't say anything.

He didn't know what to say when looking at himself getting beaten up like that. It reminded him of that time Layla sneak-attacked him and beat him up. Which was a terrible and dark memory he didn't want to remember.

So of course his expression wasn't too good.

The girls on the other hand were happily supporting Jade with giggles and "kick him harder" chants.

It seemed as if they secretly harboured the desire to beat him up. Which was new to Muku and it scared him greatly.

On that day he promised to always be the strongest not only to protect them, but to protect himself from them too.

As for Raya, he just needed to threaten her by hurting his soul if she tried anything. So she was no problem.

Yup, their soul link was like that. If one soul got hurt, both share the damage until they can't. Which was honestly an advantage when facing soul attacks, but it can also be used to threaten the other.

He realised that there was no way to prove his innocence when the other party had already painted you guilty.

Plus Jade had woken up and the clouds were stirring, so he needed to pay attention to that.

The others were a bit confused by the exchange but didn't ask. They chalked it up to the usual mother-son bunter the two always had.

Though honestly, they behaved more like siblings at such times...

Anyway, Jade looked up at the clouds expecting lightning to rain down on her as it did with Raya.

However, something different happened. Instead of raining down lightning, it rained down beasts instead. Huge beats of all shapes and sizes.

Everyone was instantly surprised and shocked. What the heck was happening?

"Isn't it interesting? Oh and don't expect this for all of you. Her trial is different because her energy is Beast Aura instead of Mana. In fact, those clouds are filled with divine beast aura instead of divine mana. And as a strictly beastly energy. It works differently from the all-encompassing mana" Mrs C dispelled their confusion.
