Raised From The Wild-Chapter 74: Let The Doctor Take Care of It
Camilla was both horrified and scared about what her younger sister said. "Don’t speak about that ever again, especially in front of Aunt Nelida or her servant. Do you understand me Riyana?" She shouted.
Riyana sniffled when her sister scolded her. She normally did not shout at her unless she did something terrible.
"I heard it from the servants. They did not know that I was there. They were talking about how our mother died from the poison and not from the accident."
"Stop that. Don’t talk anymore!"
Riyana sobbed.
Camilla was heartbroken. She did not want to see her sister cry. She wanted to protect her but she was only a child.
"I am sorry for shouting at you Riyana. Please don’t cry anymore. Let us go to sleep early so we recover soon. Our elder sister seems to be a good person. Maybe, our lives will be better with her around." Camilla said with a hopeful voice.
"But she is not father’s daughter. She is Uncle Ibrahim’s daughter." Riyana continued to sob. She was a very shy person to the point that she made her presence like thin air. The servants seemed to disregard that she was there so they gossiped freely.
"She calls our father, Daddy Ibrahim so she is her daughter and our big sister. Go to sleep. It is getting late." She pulled the quilt over her and Riyana knew that was the signal that their conversation ended.
Amaya proceeded to Yohan’s room. Even before she entered the room, she could hear the child’s coughing and her heart ached a little.
Yohan’s eyes lit up when he saw Amaya enter the room. He wanted to stand up and ran to her but his body was too weak. Amaya hurried to his side.
"It is okay, don’t get up. You are still weak."
Lilila poured the beverage into the cup and passed it to Amaya. "Drink up. This will make it better. I missed you during breakfast and dinner in the last two days."
"Will this make me better?" He asked in a cute voice.
Amaya nodded and swept away the wisp of air that covered his right eye. She was looking into very light brown innocent eyes that were similar to hers.
Yohan finished the cup in no time.
"Sister, can you sing a lullaby to me?" He gazed at Amaya expectantly.
Amaya paused. She did not know any lullabies.
"How about I read you a bedtime story instead?" She said in a gentle tone as she caressed the little boy’s hair.
The nanny handed her a bedtime storybook. Amaya started reading and her voice was pleasant and melodious. Soon the little boy was fast asleep. The nanny who was watching the scene was touched and her eyes reddened. She was wiping the tears with the back of her hand when there was a commotion at the door.
A guard held the door open as the crown prince stood at the door. He was surprised to see Amaya lying down beside the sleeping prince. Her left hand was gently caressing his brown locks while her other hand was holding the book. She seemed unaware that the little boy was already asleep. His lips unknowingly stretched sideways and curled up. He felt that the scene was heartwarming. Ibarra heard from the royal physician that Yohan was still not well after two days so he took time to visit him today.
Amaya felt a presence in the room. She saw the crown prince standing at the door. She slowly slid out of the bed and stood.
"Dad, Yohan has fallen asleep." She tried to speak softly so as not wake him up.
"I can see that." He looked at the cup on the bedside table and frowned.
Aryana noticed his gaze. "That’s a medicinal concoction that is good for Flu. He should feel better in the morning."
"A what?" Prince Ibarra asked her and his voice was slightly raised.
Yohan stirred on the bed. Amaya sat beside him and started patting his back. Then he relaxed and seemed to be in a deep sleep.
Amaya walked toward the door.
"Dad, I’ll go back to my room and sleep."
Prince Ibarra did not want to wake up Yohan so he stepped out of the room. The guard closed the door gently.
"What is it the fed Yohan?" The prince asked with furrowed brows.
"It is an herbal concoction that is good for the Flu."
"Did you let the doctor check on it?"
"Errr, No. I drank the same medicine when I was on the island and I got better the following morning." Amaya explained.
Ibrarra was furious. "Tell the nanny to come out here." He commanded the guard coldly.
Amaya was confused. Why was his Daddy Ibarra angry?
The door opened and when the nanny came out, the guard closed the door gently again.
"Why did you allow Amaya to feed Yohan that medicine? What if Johan has an allergic reaction?" the crown’s prince loud voice filled the corridor.
"My apologies your highness. It will not happen again."
"I will let you off this time. If something happens to Johan, you know what price you will have to pay."
"And you, young lady. Don’t do that again. What if they concoction that you gave him makes him feel worse? Yohan is still very young after all." He scolded Aryana.
"But Dad, that concoction is really good for the flu and he will be better tomorrow." Aryana reasoned only to meet the glare of Ibarra.
"Next time, don’t be impulsive. What do you know? Let the doctor check on him and prescribe him medication. I understand that you worry about him but you might be causing him more harm than good. Go back to your room." The crown prince’s voice was stern. After more scolding, he left the corridor and proceeded to the library.
Amaya was hurt by her uncle’s scolding. Was it wrong for her to help her cousins? Why was her Daddy Ibarra said those words?"
