Chapter 75: Don’t Take It to Heart

Amaya was hurt by her uncle’s scolding. Was it wrong for her to help her cousins? Why was her Daddy Ibarra said those words?"

"Princess, don’t take it to heart. The crown prince was just worried about the young prince’s well-being." The nanny hurriedly explained when she saw the expression on Amaya’s face. She was about to cry.

Amaya just nodded then she turned around to go to her room. The nanny sighed. She hoped that Yohan will get better otherwise the First Princess will be in trouble.

When Amaya went back to her room, it was almost eight pm. She was not sure if it was a good time to call Marx. She wanted to vent and share with him how she felt bad when her Daddy Ibarra scolded her earlier. She sent him a message instead.

After waiting for a few minutes without getting a reply, Amaya went to bed. A lot of things happened during the day and she was tired both physically and mentally.

Her bed was very soft and comfortable. She closed her eyes and unknowingly fell asleep.

Meanwhile at the south wing of Esteria Palace...

Princess Consort was lying down on a reclining couch in her quarters while a servant was skillfully applying a facial mask on her delicate face. Another trusted maid was apprising her of what happened after dinner.

"Your Highness, the First Princess brewed leaves and brought them to the Queen. She also made a concoction before visiting Camilla, Riyana, and the young prince Yohan. She made them drink the beverage telling them that they will get better after drinking."

"idiot! What does she take the palace for? Like a jungle?" The maid who was massaging her temples paused waiting for her to finish her profane language. "Continue"

"The crown prince visited the young prince’s room but he was already sleeping at that time."

Princess Nelida’s face contorted behind the mask.

The maid only paused for a moment before continuing. "The Crown Prince scolded the First Princess because he let Prince Yohan drink her concoction.

"Ha! That’s good. She should know her place." Princess Consort Nelida dismissed the other maid as she was done reporting to her.

The servant removed the facial mask and massaged her face. "You are amazing Your Highness. Your skin is soft and silky and you looked very young."

Princess Nelida smiled. Who doesn’t like compliments? This servant of hers was very good. Time to give her a bonus.

...

The following morning, Amaya woke at 5:30 am. Back on the Island of Miraga, she would normally sleep very early and wake at dawn. At this time of year, the days would be shorter and the nights longer on the Island of Miraga. Looked like her body clock did not change much. She still woke up very early.

She changed into her running outfit. This time she put the gold watch on her wrist and slipped out of the palace through the front door.

The front of the palace is a huge ground carpeted by green grass and perfect for running. After running for 30 minutes along the cemented pathways that framed the grounds, she practiced some moves that Ibrahim has taught him. After an hour, she went back to her room, took a warm shower, and changed into her uniform before heading to the dining hall.

She arrived a quarter before 7:00 and was pleasantly surprised to see Camilla, Riyana, and Yohan already seated in their respective chairs.

"You are here," she came behind Yohans’ chair and started to ruffle his hair. "Are you already well?"

Yohan nodded with delight. "Thank you for the medicine, Big Sister. You are right. I felt better when I woke up this morning. You are amazing!"

The princess consort was entering the dining hall when she heard what the little prince said. She frowned.

"I and my elder sister also felt well when we woke this morning. I agree with Yohan. I also agree with him that you are amazing." The usually silent Riyana was competing with Yohan in sharing their thoughts and attracting Amaya’s attention. A rare smile even appeared on her face.

Nelida clenched her fists when she noticed that the two bastards were getting close to Amaya.

"Hey, where are your manners? Why are you bickering with each other so early in the morning?" Nelida’s sharp gaze swept on the children who were already seated on the chairs.

The three children stood up, bowed their heads, and greeted Princess Consort politely.

Amaya frowned. She could sense fear amongst the three children. She lifted her head to meet Nelida’s intense gaze.

"I’ve heard that you have given them an herbal tea last night?" Princess Consort’s voice was stern. She was establishing her authority. She appeared obedient in the presence of the King and her husband, but since there were not around so she has the highest authority.

"Yes, Aunt Nelida. I happened to have some herbs that are good for flu so I brewed them to hasten their recovery." Aryana explained.

"Where did you get the herbs? Do you know that what you did might have harmed them if they are allergic to the leaves?"

"We are fine, Mother. The tea helped us recover." Camilla interjected.

"What did I teach you, Camilla? It is rude to interrupt when the adults are talking."

"I am sorry, Mother." Camilla lowered her head to hide the resentment in her eyes.

Before Nelida can say more, the twins came rushing in, followed by their father and the king.

The people in the dining room greeted the crown prince and the king.

Prince Ibarra was surprised to see his other children joining them for breakfast. He glanced briefly at Amaya.

"Are the three of you feeling better?" He asked while pondering if Amaya’s concoction has something to do with their recovery or if it was just a coincidence.

"Yes, Father. I feel better. My elder sister is amazing. Her medicine tasted good and better than the royal physician’s bitter-to-swallow pills."
