Chapter 39: Meeting The Rocas Family

"Change his clothes into the prince’s royal costume and have someone cover the coffin with glass to keep him safe from moisture. Finish everything after lunch." The moment his order left his mouth people became busy.

"It is almost time for lunch. Let us head to the banquet hall. You will be introduced to your family members there." King Duncan lead Amaya out of the mourning hall into the banquet hall.

There, Amaya was officially introduced to the members of the royal family. Her Daddy Ibarra introduced her to Princess Consort Nelida who was also her aunt.

"Nice meeting you Auntie." She curtsied.

"Shouldn’t you call her mother?" Prince Ibarra frowned.

"But isn’t she my aunt? My mommy is Danaya and she is mommy’s younger sister."

"Of course, you can call me Auntie Amaya. As I am really your aunt." Princess consort Nelida talked gently at her.

’Who wants to be called your Mommy?’

"These are the twins Donello and Danella." Prince Ibarra pulled Danella into a side hug when he introduced her. "Common, say hi to your elder sister."

"I don’t have an elder sister Father." Danella pouted.

Amaya frowned. She felt that Danella disliked her and showed it openly. She did not know how to handle her. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"You can just call me Amaya then and consider me as a cousin." She said casually. ’In reality, we are cousins.’

"Hello, Big Sister." Donello gave her a big hug. She hugged him back and ruffled his hair. She felt warm and comfortable in his hug.

Prince Ibarra took a four-year-old boy from his governess and held him in his arms. "This is my youngest son, Prince Yohan."

Aryana was surprised that her Daddy Ibarra has another son. His eyes were like that of Ibarra, a shade of light brown that sometimes turn to golden brown when the light was refracted at the right angle, just like hers.

She learned that the crown prince had two concubines, Yohan’s mother who died after giving birth to him, and another one who bore her two daughters who were ten and eight years old respectively. Their mother died in a car accident three years ago. The crown Prince has not taken any concubines after that.

She also met two of his uncles and four aunts from his grandfather’s three concubines. She made a mental note of her uncle’s and aunt’s family. She has a total of twelve cousins from her grandfather’s concubines.

The first concubine who was a princess of their neighboring kingdom, Albanya has one son and her son had two daughters.

The second concubine has one son and a daughter. The son has two sons and a daughter. The daughter has one child which was a female.

The third concubine has two daughters. The first daughter has two sons and a daughter. The second daughter has three daughters.

Her uncles and aunties welcomed her warmly but deep inside they were plotting how to exploit this innocent-looking young woman to serve their interests.

At the back, Marx was silently watching the family reunion. He was studying the adults’ facial expressions and body language. He was good at reading people and it was one of his abilities that made him successful as CEO at a young age.

He should tell Amaya to be wary of her two uncles and two aunts. They seemed to harbor ill intentions toward her.

"Her Majesty, Queen Lucinda is here." Someone announced the presence of the queen and all eyes turned to the entrance.

A female nurse in a white uniform was pushing a wheelchair. Amaya’s gaze landed on a frail old woman sitting in a wheelchair.

’Is that my grandmother? She looked so sickly and very frail’. Amaya thought. ’Is this the reason why she does not appear in public?’

Amaya’s instinct told her to approach the withered woman who was pushed inside the banquet hall.

"Grandma" she greeted her gently.

"I do not know you. Where is my son Ibrahim? I want to see my son Ibrahim." She yelled.

"Grandma, I am your granddaughter, the daughter of Ibrahim and Danaya," Danaya spoke softly so only her grandmother could hear her.

But alas her grandmother has a mental illness due to suffering from depression.

"How can you be Ibrahim’s daughter? I remembered my poor little grandchild Amaya. She died in a plane crash with her mother Danaya. And she is not Ibrahim’s daughter. She is Ibarra’s daughter."

"Princess, please don’t agitate Her Majesty." The nurse said politely.

King Duncan and Prince Ibarra approached the queen. Amaya was crouching down so her face was a little lower than the queen’s. She didn’t know why she felt a close connection to this old woman.

She took her hands and held them tightly in hers while she looked at her with bright eyes that sparkled when she said. "Daddy Ibrahim saved me from the plane crash Grandma. We survived but we were trapped on the island."

The queen’s face lit up when she saw Amaya’s eyes. It was just like how Ibrahim would look at her dotingly when he was a little boy eating his favorite cookie.

"Little Aya is that you?" Her voice trembled and her wrinkled hand reached out slowly to touch her face. Amaya intercepted her hand and helped her place it on her face as tears rolled down the queen’s eyes.

"Yes grandma, it is me Aya. I am alive!" She kissed the back of her hand gently.

What a touching scene!

A glint passed across Nelida’s eyes. She sneered. King Duncan’s eyes reddened. After so many years, his wife finally looked happy. Amaya’s uncles and aunts were eyeing her suspiciously. ’What is she trying to do getting close to the queen?’

The queen seemed to be in a daze for a moment as if she was chasing a memory. She smiled. "I took care of you, when you were a baby and sang lullabies for you every night."

’So that might be the reason why I felt so familiar with her on our first meeting.’ Amaya thought.

"Where is my son Ibrahim?" The queen looked around in anticipation.
