Chapter 353: Beautiful Runner

Ava leaped up so suddenly that the mug sitting next to her laptop teetered and spilled its contents of hot chocolate. Despite the mess, she merely spared a quick glance at it and made no effort to clean it up.

"Brother, what do you mean that Sister Aya is in danger?" she asked, her voice filled with anxiety as she hurried to his side. She glanced at the series of images on his monitor and saw they were snippets of chat messages.

Ava’s face was filled with concern as she examined the messages. Puzzled by their apparent lack of connection to an assassination plot, she could not comprehend their true meaning. She looked at her brother with a face filled with question marks. She looked adorable. If Dave had been there, he could have pinched her chubby cheeks.

"Brother, are those anecdotes? What does ’When the vase is broken, the red petals of the rose will fall’ mean? Where is the message that indicates the princess is in danger?" Ava questioned her brother with hands on her hips, clearly frustrated. "I accidentally spilled my chocolate because I was feeling flustered."

She took a paper towel from the drawer and cleaned up.

"Ava, this is a cryptic message. I’m working hard to unravel its meaning," Ren said with a gleam in his eyes. He was trying to boast in front of his sister.

"How did you know that it is a secret code?"

"Just my gut feeling."

Ava: "..."

Princess Amaya stood poised at the starting line of the track and field arena of Uropa University. She was preparing to run the challenging 400-meter and even more demanding 800-meter dash, awaiting her immediately afterward.

Princess Amaya received an overwhelming outpouring of support from the crowd. It’s no wonder, given how stunning she looked in her athletic outfit—a white muscle tee paired with a sleek black cycling shorts. Her figure was effortlessly alluring, with curves in all the right places and firm muscles without being overly defined. At a gentle squeeze, one would notice that her muscles were soft, adding to her overall appeal.

The athlete beside her, the champion in the last biennial, had an ugly expression. She was from Uropa, and it was her home court. How come the audience was not cheering for her but chanting for the enemy? She clenched her fist and gave Amaya a hostile look.

"On your marks," the referee’s loud voice filled the air. All the athletes assumed their position.

"Get set," the shout was even louder than the previous one.

The deafening blast of the gun jolted the seven athletes into motion, propelling them forward as if their very existence hinged on reaching the finish line first. Each competitor was driven by an unyielding determination to claim the coveted gold medal.

The seven athletes excelled as the quickest in their respective countries, but Amaya’s journey began in her early years. She embarked on her training when she was just a toddler, under the guidance of a trio consisting of a tiger, a wolf, and a monkey. The ability to run swiftly was not just a sport for her, but also a crucial survival skill. There were times when she had to rely on her speed to outpace predators and other potential threats. As she grew up, she honed her running skills to the point where it seemed like she was gliding effortlessly above the ground. Her agility matched that of her three animal friends, and running became as innate to her as drawing breath.

The princess, who was raised in the wild, displayed remarkable athleticism as she effortlessly outpaced the other athletes, shattering the world record with a stunning time of 35 seconds.

The athletes from Uropa, along with the other athletes, exerted themselves to the fullest, leaving them panting and with their tongues hanging out as they crossed the finish line. Amaya, on the other hand, seemed unfazed. Apart from a slightly flushed face, one would hardly believe that she had just completed the 400 meters in a mere 35 seconds. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

When the camera zoomed in on her, the netizens were amazed by how she looked. A few of her strands escaped from the ponytail and framed her oval face. The inevitable drop that ran down her face gave her a glistening, dewy look. At that time, a fan captured a screenshot and posted the image.

Random fan: ’How can someone still look stunning after that run? Look at those other athletes. They looked awful.’

Passerby: ’How come Princess Amaya did not seem tired at all? Look at her stretching while the others were lying on the ground, too exhausted to move.’

Anti fan: ’Have you forgotten? She grew up in the jungle. What do you expect?’

Avid fan: ’@Antifan, isn’t your logic screwed? Have you seen how dense the vegetation in a jungle is? How difficult would it be to run in it?’

Anti fan: ’So how do explain her speed?’

Avid fan: ’There should be a prairie on the island where she grew up.’

Anti fan: ’I just feel that the other athletes were quite at a disadvantage. She should not have joined this tournament.’

Passerby: ’The princess is really beautiful. She even became more beautiful after the run. Look at her flushed face. If I am a man and a billionaire, I will relentlessly pursue her.’

Random fan: ’Heh, keep dreaming.’

After the athletes had rested, the top three were called to receive their respective medals.

Meanwhile, back at Maharlika Palace, Ren was busy deciphering the cryptic message.

"Brother, how about let us tell big Sister Aya about your speculation?" Ava said while slowly sipping the iced cold chocolate from her tumbler.

"Sister Aya is preparing for her next event. She doesn’t have her cell phone with her." Ren replied in an uptight voice.

Ren’s slender fingers were moving over the keyboard fluidly. Ava turned her head to watch her brother worked on the keyboard. She has a full view of the messages on the wide screen in front of him.

"Brother! I got it." She shouted anxiously. "Let us call her brother or perhaps Stephane."

"What can Donello do? And that I don’t like that man called Stephane."

"This is serious, Ren. The coded message says that there will be an explosion the moment an athlete crosses the finish line. The explosion is just small but enough to injure the first athlete heavily. Wouldn’t that be our Princess Amaya?" Ava shuddered as vivid imagery entered her mind.

"Brother, hurry up. Do something. I’ll call Uncle Dave first."

"What can Uncle Dave do? He is still in Usturia."

"You are right," Ava said, panicking. "How about we call that man? He can surely help the princess."
