Raised From The Wild-Chapter 338: My Father...
"The crown prince of Lireya must have done many good things in his past life to have a talented daughter like you, Princess!" the reporter wearing a black pencil skirt and a white long-sleeved blouse spoke kindly to her, just like an aunty would to her niece.
Princess Amaya smiled at her.
A stern-looking female journalist approached and thrust the microphone into Amaya’s face. "But isn’t your father Ibrahim Rocas and not the current crown prince, Ibarra Rocas?"
The crowd let out a collective gasp as the reporter’s direct question left them speechless.
News reporters representing other media companies looked at the woman in disbelief. They appeared to find her question-raising approach unprofessional.
Vasquez and several of Amaya’s guards advanced to forcibly eject the reporter, but Princess Amaya stepped in and raised her hand to stop them.
Princess Amaya looked straight and smiled at the female reporter.
"When I was on the island, my Daddy was Ibrahim. He was also the one who gave me life and took care of me. He made sure that I would be able to survive in the jungle before he left me. I was devastated when he died. For fifteen years, he was all I had in the world." Amaya’s voice quivered as she paused, overwhelmed by a flood of emotions while reminiscing about her time with her Daddy Ibrahim.
"When I was brought back, I met Daddy Ibarra, and I thought my father Ibrahim had returned. It was a touching moment to discover that I had another father who looked exactly like my Daddy Ibrahim." Amaya rested her palm over her right chest as if she was trying to calm the raging emotions brought about by her recounting of the painful past.
The female reporter chuckled. "So, you considered the crown prince of Lireya as your father’s substitute?" She asked harshly.
The audience was taken aback by the reporter’s forcefulness of inquiry. Even the online community watching the livestream reprimanded and cursed her. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"How could that be? Though Daddy Ibrahim and Daddy Ibarra are twins, they are distinct individuals. They are both my fathers. Understandably, I was closer to my Daddy Ibrahim because I grew up with him, and we’re together through thick and thin. He had saved me so many times from death. But he already left me and now my father is Daddy Ibarra. I grew close to him in the last three years," Princess Amaya said without batting an eyelid.
The reporter heard snide remarks from the crowd. She was also sure that the entire internet must be cursing her, but she did not mind. She had been given a mission to ruin Princess Amaya’s reputation and needed to finish the mission; otherwise, her husband and two children would suffer.
"Aren’t you ashamed of your family’s background? Your uncle, whom you call father, married your mother, who was your biological father’s fiancee, and then he bedded your Aunt while the entire Lireya was still mourning for the death of your mother...."
Princess Amaya’s face contorted with rage as she delivered a resounding slap that cut through the reporter’s words, leaving a stunned silence in its wake.
"Who are you to insult my family like that?" Amaya was so angry that her voice trembled. She placed a lot of force on that slap, and that female reporter staggered before falling to the ground. She got up hurriedly and glared at Princess Amaya.
"Why? I am only speaking the truth," she said while trying to rub her swollen left face.
Princess Amaya looked furtively at Donello, who was hanging his head low. He was ashamed. What the reporter said was nothing but the truth. Though he and Danella were barred from knowing the truth, they somehow learned how their mother and father got together. He wanted to hate his mother for her actions then, but Nelida was still his mother after all.
"Are you really a journalist? Or are you someone who was paid to insult me?" Amaya asked boldly, and she watched as the reporter’s body stiffened. She was right, after all. Someone was intentionally stirring trouble for her. Was it Adelle? Was she getting back at her because she lost the gold medal?
Princess Amay looked in the direction where Adelle was standing beside Charles Gray. The Chancellor’s face was rigid. It was apparent that he was angered by someone or something. He was talking on his mobile phone.
Princess Amaya’s gaze traveled slowly from the top of the reporter’s head down to her feet before finally settling on her face. "If you claim to be a journalist, you should have taken the time to comprehend the customs and traditions of the Lireyan people, particularly those related to the monarchy," she emphasized, her tone unwavering.
The female reporter was struck by the intensity of Princess Amaya’s gaze, feeling as though it pierced right into her soul. A sense of panic began to creep over her. She had always perceived Princess Amaya as timid and easily susceptible to bullying. However, she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to the princess than met the eye. Reflecting on the scandal surrounding the crown prince, she realized that such occurrences, while scandalous to Uropa and Usturia, were unfortunately common in monarchies. Even the Lireyan people seemed to condone such behavior, adding a layer of complexity to the situation.
Princess Amaya was unaware of the true nature of the betrayal her father Ibrahim had suffered at the hands of his twin brother and her grandfather, as Ibrahim had kept the details to himself. The only ones privy to this secret were her grandmother, grandfather, and Daddy Ibarra. She believed that her father Ibrahim had relented, allowing Ibarra to marry Danaya after she was unknowingly conceived.
However, everything happened in the past, and her Daddy Ibrahim had already forgiven those who wronged him. Since Ibrahim has forgiven them, she also did. Based on Ibrahim’s character, she knew he would approve of her fully accepting Ibarra as her father.
Before the journalist could utter another word, the burly security personnel forcefully escorted her away. She cast a desperate glance back at Princess Amaya, her eyes silently conveying an apology and helplessness as if to say, ’I have no choice.’
The moment she was thrown out of the arena, she knew that her fate was sealed. She would lose her profession. Her only hope was that her loved ones were safe.
Vasquez approached Princess Amaya, awaiting her instructions. He expected her to ask him to contact the lawyer to sue the reporter for ruining her reputation.
"Let her go. She is just a victim herself. She is someone else’s chess piece. However, she should leave the media industry."
