Raised From The Wild-Chapter 315: The Calm Before The Storm 2
Marx kissed Amaya passionately. Amaya responded with eagerness. Marx’s lips curled up. His Aya was a fast learner. She kissed so well that he couldn’t have enough of her.
Finally, Marx broke the kiss while he was rational and could still restrain himself.
"Let us watch the stars," Marx said hoarsely as he let Amaya nestle on his chest. They lay down on the tent’s air-padded mat.
"The stars are extremely bright tonight, Marx," Amaya murmured as she gazed dreamily into the night.
"Do you know you are the brightest star of them all? The one that would never lose its brilliance."
Princess Amaya laughed hard. "I can’t believe you could say such cheesy words."
"And when did you learn the meaning of cheesy, ha?"
"I heard it from classmates," Amaya said casually. She looked at the myriad of stars that twinkled like the fireflies from earlier.
"Marx, if you return to Usturia and we don’t see each other for a long time, will you forget me?" She asked softly.
"Never!" Marx’s response was spontaneous. He grabbed a fistful of Amaya’s hair and smelled it, and then ran his finger through her wavy hair. The strands felt silky under his touch.
"For as long as the sun rises in the east and the stars don’t lose their brilliance, for as long as I have a breath, I will never forget you," Marx promised solemnly.
Princess Amaya moved away from his embrace. She propped herself on her elbow and gazed at Marx lovingly.
"Don’t ever forget your promise." Then, she took the initiative to kiss him.
Once again, the lovers were locked in a passionate kiss until both of them were breathless, and their lips were swollen.
"If you continue to tempt me, I will really lose control," Marx said in a deep, hoarse voice.
Amaya lay down beside him, her head on his arm, and they silently gazed at the stars contentedly in each other’s arms.
After some time, Princess Amaya could not stand her sleepiness. Her eyelids gradually closed, and she entered a dreamless sleep.
The dark shadows hidden behind the trees were cursing the mosquitos and different insects that were biting them.
"Damn! Do the two of them plan to stay there until the morning?"
The second guard did not say anything. He handed his partner an insect-repellant spray. Then, sitting upright, he closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep.
Marx woke up as the east brightened, and the sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. He gently lifted Amaya’s head and placed it on a folded blanket that he took with his left hand from the backpack. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
He watched her closely as she lay beside him, her skin glowing with a warm radiance that was two shades darker than its natural wheat color.
Marx started tracing the outline of her face with the back of his hand. Still not contended, he traced his lips with his finger before touching them gently.
Amaya’s long, dark eyelashes fluttered. When she opened her eyes, she saw Marx’s magnified face.
She smiled widely.
"Good morning, love!" She teased.
Marx has a stupid grin on his face.
"Hurry and get up. You are going to miss the sunrise."
Amaya scrambled. She and Marx hurried out of the tent. The scene that greeted her was breathtaking.
Feather-like clouds dispersed the rays of the morning sun, creating a palette of red, yellow, and orange hues. Coupled with the pleasant scent of flowers and the feel of the soft grass, still damp from morning dew on their barren feet, Amaya felt refreshed as she clasped Marx’s hands and watched the sun rise slowly from the east.
"We have to go back and prepare for the waterfall trip." Marx reluctantly said.
Amaya nodded and followed him down the hill back to the house where they were staying.
Princess Amaya was still sleeping soundly when she entered the room she shared with Julienne. Amaya took her robe and went outside to take a shower. They will spend half the day shooting the rapids and navigating the waterfalls, the secret lagoon, and the hidden cave before returning to the capital.
...
The volunteers headed to the river and boarded a big motorized boat. The river was wide, the banks at both sides low, and the big boat could still easily pass through. When they reached a fork, the boat turned left, and the captain turned off the engine.
"You could only use the small boat from here onwards." The captain said.
The villagers had already prepared ten small boats for them, four of which were allotted for security.
Princess Amaya, Julienne, Luciano, and Vasquez got into the boat with the two boatmen, one in front and the other in the back.
The current was strong, and it was an arduous effort to go against the current.
After fifteen minutes of travel, as the width of the river narrowed, the low banks on both sides disappeared and were replaced by a steep wall of hard soil more than ten meters high. It was as if a mighty hand took a sharp blade and curved out a trench in the middle of a mountain.
Princess Amaya thought Miraga was beautiful, but Miraga’s river was not as beautiful as the one they were traversing. As the boatmen rowed, Amaya observed the vegetation that abundantly grew on cliffs on both sides of the river. There were patches of rocks where only moss could grow, but beautiful flowers and colorful leaves were plentiful.
A blue butterfly landed on Amaya’s arm without warning. It stayed for a while before fluttering away.
"How come the butterfly only landed at you and not me?" Julienne asked.
"Probably because they like my scent?" She used the shampoo and the soap she made.
"Look at the turtle sunbathing on the rock over there!" Amaya exclaimed and pointed to her right, and everyone followed where she was pointing. At that moment, the turtle sank its head inside its shell.
They shoot more than eight rapids. The people on the small boat admired the boatman for his strength and skill. Princess Amaya took note of his effort, and she rewarded him and also the other boatmen.
After an hour, they finally arrived at their destination. Princess Amaya who grew up in the wild, was amazed as she looked up at the majestic waterfall as it cascaded from a height of fifty meters.
Princess Amaya was excited. When everyone has alighted from the small boat and was figuring what to do next, a big splash was heard.
"Amaya!"
