Chapter 262: Something to Tell You

"What happened?" Amaya asked anxiously.

"This ’thing’ is still too little but already vicious. He wanted to hurt me," Marx growled.

The young human spider boy glared at Marx, but his eyes looked pitiful when he looked at Amaya.

"He wanted to hurt me first." His voice was high pitch but beautiful, just like that of an ordinary little boy. His voice was different from his mother’s.

Amaya narrowed her eyes. Between him and Marx, even if he looked really pitiful, Amaya would side with Marx.

"You have shown them enough kindness, Aya. Just let them stay in the forest just like the way they used to. It will be dangerous for them to stay here."

Amaya looked at the two shirts in her hands and the two spider children. She decided to listen to Marx.

"Let us take them tomorrow to Mount Ibra. It is too late now."

Marx nodded.

Amaya released her friends and told them that she needed to go back to Asteria Palace. She reminded them to come back tomorrow.

"Kong has not come?" She asked when she noticed that the ape did not come even after a long time. "Never mind. Tell him to come tomorrow."

After her animal friends left, she locked the gate. The secret garden was enclosed with high brick walls and had a roof made from fiberglass. The wall separated the garden from Maharlika Palace.

"Both of you stay here tonight. There are lots of rabbits here and insects that you can eat. Be good and rest so you recover fast."

Amaya turned to leave. Marx and Vasquez were already waiting for her at the door.

"Can we call you mother?" It was the cute voice of a young girl.

Amaya turned around and looked into a pair two beautiful eyes. She smiled.

"Sure. You can call me ’mother.’" Then she left without turning back.

The spider girl mimicked the way Amaya smiled.

"What are you doing? You look stupid." Her brother scolded her.

The spider girl faced her brother. The corner of her lips stretched sideways and a little bit upward. Her grayish teeth appeared.

"Mother looked beautiful when she did like this."

Her brother looked at her and was in a daze. She too looked beautiful when she did that.

The two spider kids looked young physically but their mentality was that of a teenager. They were both exceptionally intelligent. The scientist had inserted his genes in all the animals that he experimented with.

"Why did you want to hurt that man?"

"He is cunning and intelligent. We cannot get close to Mother if he is around." A glint flashed across his black orbs.

"Are you still in pain, brother?"

"Yes. One of my legs is broken and my lower abdomen is hurt too. Let us rest and recuperate."

"Brother, why do we understand them? Our siblings don’t sound the same way they do, but why do I understand them so easily?"

"It is because our mother’s father made mother superior, that’s why we are incredibly smart and can understand and speak their language."

"You are so awesome, brother. You even tricked our mother back then and so we escaped death, unlike many of our other siblings who looked like us."

"It is because I have inherited my grandfather’s genius." He said arrogantly.

He studied his surroundings and found it to be a better place than their previous home. There were artificial caves in a few corners. He dragged his injured body to the corner, his sister following behind.

Marx and Amaya checked on the two horses who had just woke up from being sedated. Maharlika Palace has a big stable and there were no horses yet.

The couple brought the two horses there and a stable boy fed them grasses and water.

"I will accompany you to Asteria Palace. You should go back there. I am pretty sure that your father and your grandparents are worried about you. We can go back here tomorrow to check on the horses and the other animals."

"Sounds good. Let us go then." Amaya turned to go but Marx grabbed her by the hand. He spun her around before pulling her close to him.

Amaya felt that she crashed into a hard wall. Marx encircled his arms on her and captured her lips. He kissed her passionately, demanding her to respond to him. Marx only decided to let her go when Amaya was out of breath.

"You..." Amaya was speechless. She did not expect Marx to be so brazen.

"Do you know how difficult it was for me these past few days? You are so close to me but I cannot even hold your hand." Marx sounded aggrieved.

Marx silently cursed himself because he was acting like a lovestruck teenager.

Amaya felt the heat on her face. She knew that her face was definitely like the color of a tomato. She turned away from Marx and walked forward.

Marx grinned and followed her. He held her hand and walked by her side.

...

At the Asteria Palace.

King Duncan, Queen Lucinda, and Crown Prince Ibarra were waiting for Amaya in the throne room. Their faces were all sullen.

When Amaya entered the room, her face fell. She knew that she did something that worried her family.

"Grandpa, Grandma, Dad! I know I am wrong to make you worry." Amaya bowed her head and said in a pitiful voice.

Marx and Vasquez stood behind her.

"So, you also know that you made us worried. Why were you so bold to enter a dangerous mountain? Haven’t you seen the videos of the outcome of the people who entered that mountain? It went viral on the internet because of the horrifying death of those men who dared to enter the mountain." King Duncan berated her.

Amaya remained silent.

"Where is your Uncle Sapiro? Why is he not here? He should take responsibility for not protecting you."

"Grandpa, nothing happened. See? I am not even injured." Amaya raised her hands to show that she did not have injuries at all.

"Grandpa, Daddy Ibarra, there is something I want to tell you..."
