Chapter 231: The Princess Is Missing

The man, made a side step, quickly turned around and held her wrist. The dagger fell on the floor.

"You naughty girl, you are role-playing again." King Ralden’s voice was pleasant and sounded like music to Sofia’s ears. She can never grow tired of listening to his voice. In the whole world, there shouldn’t be any person who has a voice as beautiful as King Ralden’s.

Sofia laughed coquettishly. She tiptoed and kissed King Ralden on the lips.

"Why did you come so early? Aren’t you following Princess Amaya?"

"I made a mistake, My King. We encountered a lioness giving birth and I told her I wanted a cub. She gave it to me and found an opportunity to drive me away."

Sofia turned on the laptop placed on a portable table inside her tent. There were also two portable chairs. King Ralden sat on one. She continued standing as her fingers flew on the keyboard.

"The cellular is not stable in some areas in the hunting ground. I am not sure if the data I gathered was synchronized successfully."

She uploaded the videos stored in a small chip in her dress. There were a total of 10 micro cameras in her dress and they were placed at vantage points to capture a 360-degree view of her surroundings.

"The Princess has exceptional martial arts skills, even better than my shadow guards. I am interested to learn more about the father who raised her up on that island." Sofia said while seriously looking at the progress bar on the laptop as the images and the videos were being uploaded.

When she returned to the Qin family, her father hired a lot of experts to train her in martial arts, and the use of guns and other weapons. He even hired the best IT programmer to train her in technology. But her martial arts skill was nothing compared to that of Princess Amaya.

King Ralden smiled mischievously as he watched his favorite concubine work on her laptop. If he cannot get Amaya to be his Queen, when the time comes, he will depose Zanzara and declare Sofia as his Queen. To heck with the palace rules. Sofia was right. He is the King and he is the law. He is the one who sets the rules.

The king regarded Sofia carefully. The Prime Minister invested so much to train his only daughter. Unfortunately for the Prime Minister and fortunately for him, Sofia’s heart was stolen by him.

"Damn It!" Sofia cursed and started pacing the room.

King Ralden glanced at her lazily.

"I lost track of Princess Amaya. It’s either she was in an area where there is no signal or the tracker has been destroyed."

"How can that be? Her bow, the quiver itself, and all her arrows were embedded with a tracking device and we should be able to detect them for as long as she is within 10 kilometers outside of the hunting ground." King Ralden stood up and looked at the monitor of her laptop.

"Hamir," King Ralden called in a loud voice. Hamir flashed in and bowed.

"What is your command, Your Majesty?" 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Call our IT expert here and the one who designed the tracking devices."

Hamir nodded and immediately exited the tent to execute the king’s instructions.

"Can you check where Sapiro is?"

Sofia entered Sapiro’s name on the tracking app and his location was shown. He was within the hunting ground. Sofia inputted Ramir’s name. He and the others have entered the hunting ground.

A frown appeared on Sofia’s fair forehead. She went through the videos she uploaded earlier.

"This is the place where I last saw them. It is still very near the hunting ground."

In the video, Amaya suddenly blocked the view of the lioness and caught the dart mid-air.

A look of admiration appeared in King Ralden’s eyes. Sofia was right. The Princess’s skills were exceptional.

Soon four people asked permission to enter the tent. Sofia stepped back to allow the IT guy to work on her laptop.

"Your Majesty, all the other trackers are working perfectly except that of Princess Amaya." The young man wearing thick glasses said in a trembling voice.

"What does that mean?" Hamir asked.

"The Princess is not within the area of coverage." The young man answered respectfully.

"Can you use our satellite to track her?" It was Sofia who asked.

"The tracking devices installed in the hunters were not programmed to give off radio waves that could be detected by our satellite." The man who designed the tracker chimed in. "Maybe we can track her if we deploy transponders to her last known location or to a location that she is targeting."

"Are you sure that the tracker can be detected even if it is within 10 kilometers outside of the hunting ground?" King Ralden asked, emitting the aura of a king.

"Yes, Your Majesty. It can even be detected within 15 kilometers but we used 10 for 100% accuracy."

King Ralden and Sofia looked at each other. They seem to be thinking of the same thing.

"How can she travel so fast? I left them 30 minutes ago and the distance I traveled was five kilometers but I was on horseback. They were traveling by foot." Sofia was analyzing the situation but before she could say anything the king spoke.

"Are you sure that our system is not hacked? I suspect that the princess has an expert hacker by her side. They were able to hack the cameras at The Colleseum..." King Ralden paused. A sudden realization hit him. Could they have discovered the hidden cameras in the White Villa?

He beckoned to Hamir and whispered something in his ear. Hamir nodded and left the room.

"Your Majesty, there is no sign of any attempt to breach our firewall. I am sure the reason why we cannot track the Princess is because she is outside of the coverage area."

"Impossible! She couldn’t travel that fast unless she found some transport." Sofia stomped her feet.

"Send someone to investigate and send a few transponders at the foot of the Janai Mountain Range." King Ralden ordered.

Sofia prepared to leave. "I’ll go with them, Your Majesty."

"Asked your guards to bring horses with them. Don’t tire them running around, otherwise, when the time comes, they will not be able to protect you because they expended their energy trying to catch up with you."

Sofia chuckled. "That animal whisperer is useless. It took him too long to tame one stallion."

"Don’t be too harsh on him. If it is so easy to tame wild horses, then there shouldn’t be horses left in the wild."
