Raised From The Wild-Chapter 216: Lunch at the Colesseum

Before Amaya could say anything, a sweet fragrance filled the air. A slender beautiful woman who was as tall as the Princess and has the same color as her hair entered from the large wooden door. She was wearing a white dress with a flowing skirt that reached her ankle.

Amaya recognized her as the lady who did the animal show in the morning. She was also the woman she bumped into in the restroom.

The woman in white bowed before King Ralden. "My King, lunch is ready." She said in an overly sweet voice.

"You could have sent a servant to call us, Sofia." King Ralden spoke gently to her.

"I want to meet the man who defeated all my animals," Sofia said as she scanned the guard from head to toe. Then her gaze moved to Princess Amaya inadvertently. A cold glint crossed her eyes for a fleeting second. Even if it was gone in a blink of an eye, Amaya still saw it. She looked at Sofia in surprise.

’Was she angry because the animals were harmed? Would she rather that we are the ones that were killed?’ Amaya thought to herself as she briefly met the gaze of Sofia who had already pasted a sweet smile on her face.

"Except for the snake, the gunshot wounds sustained by those animals should not be fatal." The guard said nonchalantly.

"But the snake died," Sofia said in a broken voice.

"If the snake did not die, then would you rather that we die?" The guard retorted angrily.

Sofia glanced at the guard sharply. It was only then she noticed that he was the handsome guard she met by chance in the corridor at the restroom.

"Let’s go to the dining hall." Hamir felt that the atmosphere was not right so he tried to mediate and reminded everyone about lunch.

Hamir led them into a hallway and pressed a button. Soon after they heard a ’’ding’ sound and the elevator door opened. Who would have thought that there was an elevator there? The doors were hidden from the abstract painting on the wall.

"There is actually an elevator here." Princess Amaya said in surprise. ’It is just one story down. Why do they have to wait for an elevator?’ Amaya muttered to herself.

"Yes, Princess. The dining hall is on the second level. Time for the King is gold. Using the elevator is more secure and faster." Hamir explained.

When the group arrived at the dining hall, the others were already waiting for them.

The dining hall, as opposed to the other parts of the Colesseum looked modern and luxurious. It was unlike the throne room which was reminiscent of the distant past. The wall was not made from blocks and bricks but from marble.

It was during the reign of King Ralden when the dining hall was built because he loved to entertain his guests over lunch and dinner.

King Ralden sat on the head of the table while Zanzara sat on his left and Sapiro on his right.

Her guard pulled a chair for her. She sat beside her Uncle Sapiro. Amaya looked at her guard and her heart ached. She wanted to ask him to join them at the table but she could not.

Amaya looked around and noticed that the petite guard who was guarding the King earlier was not in sight. Does it mean that he wasn’t the king’s personal guard?

Zanzara engaged Amaya in a conversation about the orphanage. Since she was in Ra-Iya, she volunteered to handle the matter for her. Amaya nodded in agreement. She did not think too much about it. She thought that her cousin was excited to do something for the children and for Ra-Iya.

Amaya inadvertently glanced at the lady in white at the farthest side of the table. She was eating elegantly like a noble lady. She suddenly thought of the fairly-like woman at the masquerade who was wearing a translucent mask. It was her.

Sofia met her gaze. The young lady arched her eyebrows as if challenging her in a gazing contest. Amaya retracted her gaze and shifted her attention to the king.

"Your Majesty, how could you let one of your wives be an animal tamer?" She shamelessly asked.

Everyone looked at Amaya incredulously. Why would a princess blurt out such a tactless question?

Sofia who was about to lift a glass of juice to her lips stopped mid-way and looked at Amaya with narrowed eyes. ’Does she look down on me? But she has good sense. I was wearing a veil earlier and she still recognized me.’ She looked at the not-so-pretty queen beside the king and concluded that she was the one who leaked her identity. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Hamir who was standing behind the king clenched his fist. ’This princess. She is really uncouth.’ He thought.

King Ralden laughed. When he did, the queen, Tatiana, Shanaya, and Sofia looked at him with infatuation in their eyes. He looked more handsome when he laughed. The sound of laughter from his mouth was like a pleasant song that make one’s heart beat wildly.

"Sofia likes dancing. Taming the animals is also her passion. What can I do, Princess? I dote on my women the most. Whatever they like, I will naturally let them have it." King Ralden said casually while keeping eye contact with Princess Amaya.

"I see," Amaya replied awkwardly before looking away from the king with difficulty. She finished the few slices of the fruit on her plate.

"The food must be Ra-Iya’s specialty. This is the first time I tasted them. I especially like the mixture of pork and chicken with banana and pineapple chunks and cooking wine." She changed the topic just like that.

"Indeed, Princess! This is our specialty. I am glad that you like it." King Ralden looked at the servant who was standing at the side. She went out and soon after, a few servants came in, each carrying a tray in their hands. One of them served a small plate to Amaya, while the rest served the small plate to the others.

"Please try our Ra-iya’s famous dessert, Princess. This is the recipe from the First Queen of Ra-Iya and was passed down from generation to generation. Legend said that the First Queen conquered the First King with this recipe." After introducing the dessert, the servant bowed politely and left.

Amaya looked at the small plate in front of her and swallowed her saliva.
