Raised From The Wild-Chapter 182: Car Accident
When she did not feel the expected impact, Amaya opened her eyes and saw only a few centimeters between the red Ferrari and the black Bentley.
She was glad that she stepped on the break at the right time.
The driver of the Bentley was looking at her with a pale face. At the back passenger seat, she could see a man sitting with his back straight and he seemed to be cuddling a woman.
Amaya and Marx has gotten off from the car and they approached the driver.
"Miss, I am sorry. I know I am, wrong but I am I’m in a hurry. My Madam is about to give birth." The driver was trembling.
Amaya looked at the back seat and she saw the pregnant woman being cuddled by her husband. The man has a frosty look and was impatient.
"If that is the case, please hurry up and try to be careful."
"Thank you for your understanding, Princess. I owe you one. I hope that our meeting is under a different circumstance." The man said politely.
Amaya nodded slightly. He looked familiar but she can’t remember where she met him before. She glanced at the woman at the back who was sweating a lot. She was whimpering while the husband was gently stroking her huge stomach that resembled a watermelon.
"Have a safe delivery, Madam." With that Amaya and Marx turned around and went back to the Ferrari. The driver did not waste any more time and left the area. The thought of the near collision left him shaken.
"Focus on driving. I’ll kill you if a similar accident happens again. You are lucky the Princess has excellent driving skills. She steered the wheel at the right time and avoided hitting you." The man at the back said acidly.
"Babe, don’t be angry anymore. You will all the more rattle ..." The woman did not finish her statement as an excruciating pain hit her abdomen. Her grip on her husband’s hands tightened. She screamed and bit her lips.
"Inhale and exhale, Babe! Try to relax." The man said gently despite the fact that he was panicking inside.
Meanwhile, on Amaya’s side...
"The man looked familiar. Isn’t he the Duke of Ereseo?" Marx asked.
Amaya shrugged her shoulders. "I don’t know him, but yes, he looked familiar."
The incident has affected the traffic. There was now a long queue of cars behind them. The impatient drivers were shouting profanities and honking their horns like crazy. Amaya threw the car key to Marx.
"I don’t think I can drive after that. My legs are like jelly." Amaya said honestly.
Marx opened the passenger door for her. After she sat on the chair, he closed the door, walked around the car, and entered the door to the driver’s seat.
"Phew! That was close. I thought I was going to hit him."
"Thankfully you stepped on the brake so hard and twisted the steering wheel to the right. That was a life-saving move. Why did you think of doing that?" Marx was curious.
"It was instinct. If I did not turn it, then I should have collided with the Bentley."
Marx noted that Dave has not spoken for a long time. When he looked at the man at the back, he was very pale. He looked like a ghost. "Are you okay, Dave?"
"Yes, I am okay. Don’t mind me. I am just a little shaken by what happened earlier. I was surprised that Amaya has thought of those countermeasures. I envy her calmness."
"If I am calm, I should still be able to drive," Amaya said in a depressing tone. "But I can’t now."
Marx glanced sideways at Amaya. He looked worried. He thought that Amaya was just like a pillar, a pillar that is made of stone. But then he realized that Amaya has vulnerabilities as well.
"Do you want to go to the hospital? We can turn back you know." Marx said worriedly.
"I am alright, Marx, No need to take me to the hospital. I would rather watch my animals go back to the forest.
Marx nodded. He stepped on the gas and the car accelerated.
Amaya was enjoying Marx’s driving skills. His driving was smooth, the kind that would make one go to sleep.
Amaya was jolted awake when she felt that the car stopped.
"Did we arrive already?" Amaya asked groggily.
"Yes, Princess. We already arrived." Dave sitting on the back answered her.
Amaya looked around and she realized that the truck that carried the animal has not arrived yet. She looked in front of her and gasped when she saw the front of the cluster of buildings that would soon be her home.
The facade of the main building was grandiose. There was a three-layer fountain in the front.
"Come, I’ll show you the inside of your palace."
Amaya smiled. She did like the sound of Marx calling her place a palace.
"Do you think, this place is grand enough to be called a palace?"
"Why not? Don’t you think that that facade is majestic enough? This place is huge and besides you are royalty. What would you like to call this place?" Marx asked as he climbed up a few steps of stairs to reach the reception hall.
"Hmm." Amaya pondered for a while. "Maharlika... yes Maharlika palace."
"Okay." Marx hummed. It is just a name. It does not matter what it was.
They entered the reception hall and Amaya gasped at the elegant design. At the center of the high ceiling was a grand chandelier hanging proudly like a peacock spreading its splendid feathers. Most of the furniture was made of hardwood. There were a lot of cushions on the sofa to make sitting comfortable.
The room was very big. At one corner was a coffee table for two persons. On another side was a daybed. There were a total of five clustered couches which should be able to sit a total of fifty guests at a time.
"Nice!" Amaya smiled as she sat on one of the comfy couches. "It looked very different in the model."
"Don’t you want to check the other rooms?"
Amaya nodded excitedly. She remembered that there were a total of ten bedrooms on the second floor and also ten on the third floor. The twelve villas surrounding the palace have four to 6 bedrooms.
The room next to the reception hall was a big banquet hall that can be split into smaller function rooms. There was also a library on the ground floor and an entertainment room. Of course, the dining room was located beside the kitchen.
The servants have their own quarters in a separate building.
"I didn’t know that it is this big. The model looked so cute. Wouldn’t it be expensive to maintain such a huge house?"
"Well, you can host functions at a price."
Amaya looked at Marx strangely. He was really a businessman. How can he think of such things?
They went to the second floor to check the bedrooms. "You can choose which bedroom you like to have, but take a look at this one."
Marx opened the door of one of the bedrooms. It was big. The queen-sized bed was against the wall and there was a bench at the end of the bed. The room was painted mostly with white and earth colors. Amaya checked the bathroom and she was amazed to find a big bathtub inside.
After checking the bathroom, she went to the balcony. What greeted her was the view of the mountain. When she turned right, she could see a portion of the sea. When she looked down below, she saw a beautiful garden, and at the secluded corner, she saw a three-layer pool similar to the one in Miraga.
She went out of the room and hurriedly looked for the stairs.
"Hey, where are you going?"
"I want to check the pool in the garden," Amaya shouted.
Marx followed her with a small smile on his lips. Indeed, he was right. Amaya will find the pools intereisting.
Amaya found the garden. The flowers were newly planted and they looked a little withered. She went to the secluded place and her eyes reddened as she remembered a similar place in the past which was her favorite. It was her secret place, but it was no longer secret because she brought Marx there.
Amaya has the urge to take off her clothes and dived into the water. She looked around and did not find anyone at all. She hurriedly took off her shirt and her jeans and jumped straight into the pool.
Marx who has just gotten out of the palace heard a splash and he has a bad feeling about it. He hurried to the northeastern part of the garden.
His eyes grew big when he saw Amaya’s pieces of clothing beside the pool!
"Aya, the truck has arrived. I thought you want them to go to the forest right away."
Amaya emerged from the water right in front of where Max was standing. She was just wearing her bra and panty which Marx could see even if her body was underwater.
"Don’t come out first. I’ll get someone to get you a robe."
