Chapter 180: The Cruise 2

"I think our dinner is ready." Marx reluctantly let go of Amaya. He led her to the table where a spread of Lireyan’s famous cuisine was delectably arranged. Of course, Amaya’s favorite fried chicken was there.

The waiter lit the scented candles that were held by three glass candle holders of varying sizes and shapes. The air was filled with a pleasant scent.

"This is real dating, Aya. I hope you are enjoying this."

"I am, Marx. I love the ambiance and this..." Amaya gestured toward the table and the deck. "Thank you for preparing this for me." Amaya’s eyes reddened. She was deeply touched.

"I hope that you will never stopped being this good to me." Amaya held Marx’s hand and brought it to her face.

It was such a gentle gesture. Marx’s heart raced. He caressed Amaya’s face and made a promise to her.

"I will always be good to you Aya. You are the first woman I love and the only one." Marx finally confessed what he felt deep in his heart.

Amaya face reddened. "I remembered the time you told me that you want to be like Khalil is to his mate. Then, I suppose that makes you my mate then."

"Hmm." Marx hummed. He pulled a chair for Amaya. Only after Amaya sat did he returned to his chair.

Marx took the steak and cut them into bite size pieces and passed it to Amaya.

"Marx, will you be staying here in Lireya or are you coming back to Usturia?" Amaya asked while stuffing the steak into her mouth.

"I will go back to Usturia to settle some things and then I will come back to ask your father and grandfather to have us betrothed. You are still young so it is not yet time for me to marry you but I hope that we can get engaged."

Amaya coughed as a piece of steak got stuck in her throat when Marx mentioned about marriage. Marx is right. She is still young and there is still so much that she wanted to do.

A new song from the musicians floated into the air. There was no vocals and it was purely instrumental. Amaya looked at the musicians and made an ’okay’ sign with her hand.

They were finishing their dessert when their yacht were surrounded by three boats. The bodyguards that Marx have with him the yacht all rushed up to the deck, their hands where on their concealed weapons.

"What’s wrong? " Amaya asked.

Marx was very calm. He was contemplating whether the boats that surrounded them were enemies or not.

"Seems like it is difficult for us to have a peaceful date, Aya. Something always comes up to interrupt us. Sorry that we cannot finish our date peacefully." Marx apologized to her.

The people from the three boats boarded their yacht. They were from the Lireyan Marine Corps.

When they were on the deck, they looked around and then they looked at each other in bewilderment. They received an order to intercept a yacht that has the kidnapped princess on it. But looking around, it does not look like a kidnapping but rather a date. There was a romantic vibe in the air mainly because of the background music and decorations.

"What is the meaning of this Captain?" Marx asked the leader of the group.

"We received a report that the first princess was kidnapped." the captain said in a polite manner.

"Does this look like a kidnapping to you?" Marx retorted.

"Uhmm. Our apologies. But the report came from the palace itself."

"Captain, you are disturbing our date. I can assure you that I came her on my own accord and Marx did not force me." Amaya interjected. "You can get off the yacht now so we can continue with our date."

The captain was ashamed. He ordered his men to leave the yacht.

...

It was already past 9:00 pm when Marx dropped off Amaya to Asteria Palace. He opened the door for and escorted her up to the main door of the palace.

"Thank you, Marx. I have a wonderful time today." She tiptoed and kissed Marx briefly on the cheek. Marx turned his cheek and Amaya’s kiss landed on his lips.

"You..." Amaya was could not complete her statement. How come she just realized that Marx is shameless?

The moment Amaya stepped into the reception room of the palace, Lilia who has been pacing to and fro for a long time ran toward her to welcome her.

"Princess, where have you been? Why did you turn off your cell phone? I have been calling you since after that accident in the Ferris wheel." She said worriedly. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Uh, I went to a date with Marx. I did not notice that my cell phone ran out of battery."

"The king and the crown prince wanted you to be at their study the moment you arrive."

Amaya just nodded and followed her silently to the king’s study. Two royal guards were watching at the door. They were standing with their backs straight and unmoving.

When they saw that it was Princess Amaya, they opened the door for her but did not let her maid get in.

Amaya was surprised to see King Duncan and Prince Ibarra standing and looking at the screen on the wall which was playing the video of the her and Marx hanging in the Ferris wheel.

"Aya, why did you not come back after such an accident. Didn’t know how worried we are?" King Duncan asked her gently.

"But I am alright Grandpa. I went on a date with Marx." Amaya spoke without filter.

Prince Ibarra looked at her sharply. "Even after the accident, you still continued with your date? Isn’t Marx a bit irresponsible? Many people are looking for you and because you are missing, there is another rumor on the internet."

"What rumor? We were running away from the paparazzi and we get into a yacht." Amaya said defensively.

King Duncan approached Amaya. He held both of her shoulders.

"Amaya, you cannot go out casually anymore. What happened at the Ferris wheel is not an accident."
