Chapter 179: The Cruise

While the internet was buzzing with the heroic act of Amaya and Marx, they were on a private yacht cruise on a nearby lagoon in the West.

"I have been in Lireya for more than two months now I did not know there is such a beautiful place in the capital." Amaya was standing on the railing of the yacht looking at the clear water below and at the greeneries that grew on the the rocky hills that they passed along the way. The yacht was traveling on a very slow speed.

Marx stood beside Amaya. He placed his hand around her waist casually. Amaya has gotten used to Marx touch that she did not feel awkward or conscious at all.

"Your grandfather and father have good conservation plan for Lireya. No piers or ports were allowed at the eastern and western coasts, making the water clear and pollution free. Only yachts and boats for tours were allowed in this area."

"No wonder the water is still crystal clear." Amaya gasped when she saw a lot of birds flying over their yacht. "Marx, look! There are so many birds!" Amaya have never seen that kind of bid before.

"Those are migratory birds. Some came from Chaneya and Usturia. Lireya’s climate is warmer and there is no winter here so they come."

"I see. Speaking of winter, does it snow in Usturia?"

"Hmmm." Marx hummed. "Usturia should be at its coldest in January."

"Can I go to Usturia when it is snowing there? I want to experience snow."

"Sure! The best time to go there is during Christmas. But I doubt if your family will allow you to."

"I know they will not agree. This will be the first Christmas that I will spend with my family. Since Daddy Ibrahim left, i had forgotten about Christmas. The last time I celebrated was four years ago."

Amaya had a forlorn look in her eyes so Marx changed the topic. "By the way, I booked a dinner for us."

A female yacht attendant led Amaya down a flight of stairs into a room. On the bed, she saw an emerald green cocktail dress, and a matching low heeled white sandals.

The attendant left the room and locked it before coming out. Amaya changed from her jeans and tee shirt into the cocktail dress. She tried to arrange her hair into an updo and after a few attempt, she succeeded. It doesn’t look as neat and as beautiful as when Lilia would do it for her but it was passable.

Amaya looked at the vanity table and saw newly purchased make up kit. She took a lipstick and applied it on her lips. She put light blush on and that was it.

When she opened the door, the female attendant was still there. Amaya guessed that she was waiting for her. She led Amaya to the topmost deck where a table was set up in the middle. Four arches were placed around the table and they were beautifully decorated with flowers and colorful plant leaves. It has an obstructed 360 degree view of the surroundings. The railings were decorated with beautiful flower arrangements.

Amaya’s eyes landed to a group of musicians situated at the bow area of the deck. They started playing beautiful music. Amaya released a deep breath. Her eyes scanned the other side of the deck. She frowned when she did not find what she was looking for. She looked back to the staircase and there was Marx, smiling gently at her. He was wearing a white suit which was opposite of what he normally wore, black or gray. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Marx walked slowly toward Amaya, one hand was on his pocket, while the other one was behind his back. When he was in front of her, Marx passed her the bouquet of roses that he was hiding at his back. Amaya accepted it without hesitation and smelt the roses.

"Thank you, Marx. I love it."

Marx offered her his arm and she hooked her hand at the crook of her elbow and they walked slowly to the table.

The sun was about to set in the west. The horizon was painted with a splash of the different hues of red and orange. The sun has turned into a big ball of fire in between two cumulus cloud that parted to show the setting sun in all its glory.

"It is beautiful, Marx. Sunsets in the Island of Mirage were beautiful and this one is also beautiful."

Marx took Amaya’s hand and he led her to the railings in the west section of the boat. They stood there side by side until the sun completely disappeared in the horizon.

Beautiful lights like fireflies illuminated the deck of the yacht creating a more romantic vibe. A romantic melody from different stringed instruments filled the air.

"May I have the honor of dancing with you Princess?"

Amaya nodded. She curtsied then took his hands. Marx placed his left hand at the back of her waist and the other one at her shoulder. They were simply swaying slightly to the music and enjoying themselves.

Amaya tilted her head upward. Her gaze first landed at Marx’s thin lips and slowly moved up to his eyes. In the dim light, his eyes were not blue as the ocean anymore but it was rather a mysterious grey.

Marx lost his self control. Every time those pair of amber eyes would look at him innocently, he would be sucked by them and he would drown into those deep whirlpools. He lowered his head and captured her lips. When he pushed his tongue inside her, Amaya already knew what to do. She opened her mouth willingly and accepted his probing.

Marx groaned. He hold the back of her head and tilted it a bit to deepen the kiss. They kissed for a long time. It was as if both of them were walking on a dry desert for a long time and found their oasis to quench their thirst. Amaya was breathless when Marx finally let go."
