Raised From The Wild-Chapter 161: Rare Moment 2
The queen took out her handkerchief and wiped the tears from Ibarra’s eyes. The children who were far away and playing with Spirit were oblivious to the emotional turmoil that they have caused the adults.
King Duncan, extended his hand to his son and helped him up. He could see how emotional his son was.
"Amaya is a good kid. She brought back the sunshine into the palace. Cherish your eldest daughter well. I hope that Danella can find it in her heart to like her sister soon."
King Duncan, looked at the four children who were still emersed in playing with Spirit. Donello who was very tall and looked like a man was showing the child inside him. He laughed with Yohan as they tried to tease Spirit with the frisbee.
"I will, Father. Amaya is both Ibrahim and Danaya rolled into one. I will definitely cherish her." He said with conviction as his gaze landed on Amaya. Amaya was enjoying the scene before her as she stood contentedly beside Marx.
Princess Consort Nelida was silently watching in the sideline. She was not happy to see Donello interacting with his other siblings. She turned to look at Ibarra and she sneered when she saw that his eyes were red. ’Why is he showing such weakness? As the future king, he shouldn’t be showing any weakness. In fact, he shouldn’t have any weakness at all.’
"Grandpa, Grandma, Father, Mother," Danella called from the double door. She hurried her steps until she directly stood beside her grandparents and her father.
"What is happening? Why is everybody out here?" She was puzzled. She scanned her father’s face and she frowned when the crown prince’s eyes were red.
"Come sit beside, Grandma Danella. Like your brother, you have grown so big. : Queen Lucinda beckoned Danella to sit beside her.
Danella hesitated. She looked at her mother and saw her signal with her eyes that she should go on.
Danella sat beside the queen but she was unhappy. Her grandmother was always sick and sometimes she would act crazy that’s why Danella did not like her. Even though she was the queen, her sickness made Danella ashamed of her.
When she was thirteen, there was one time when she brought her friends over. They were in the entertainment room watching a movie and having fun when her grandmother came. Her hair was disheveled and her eyes were bloodshot. She scolded her classmates and told them that they were very noisy and they were disturbing baby Amaya’s sleep.
Every one of her friends became silent. A caretaker rushed inside and coaxed the queen and lead her out of the room after apologizing to her classmates.
When the queen was gone, her classmates were able to breathe calmly.
"Who is baby Amaya? Is she a daughter of your father’s concubine?"
Danella still remembered her classmate asking that stupid question but she did not tell her anything.
From that day, she dared not bring her friends to the entertainment room. She always brought them to the southern pavilion opposite the queen’s quarters so there would be no repeat of what happened in the entertainment room.
Every time she saw the queen, she would always ask about Amaya to the point that Danella would turn in the opposite direction if Danella saw her.
Perhaps the reason why Danella could not accept Amaya was related to her Grandmother. She was so biased about her. She always talks about Amaya. She would always look for her cute granddaughter.
Danella knew that her grandma was sick. Her grandpa, the king, always asks her to not mind her grandmother because of her depression. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Sis!" Donello’s voice brought her back to the present.
"Sis, come over here. We will introduce you to Spirit. He is Yohan’s little pet." Donello shouted excitedly.
Danella hesitated before walking toward the direction of where her brother was. He was sitting on the grass and it looked unbecoming of a prince.
"Why are you sitting there?" Danella frowned.
"Why, what’s wrong?"
"You have forgotten the etiquette taught to you?" Danella crossed her arms over her chest.
"Gosh Sis, don’t be such kill joy. It is only us here. We also need to have our playtime. Come, meet Spirit. He such a lovable furry ball."
Donello took Spirit from Yohan and brought it closer to Danella. He wanted Spirit to sniff her so he can recognize her scent.
Danella stepped back. "I don’t want to hold it. I don’t like dogs." She flung the wolf that Donello placed in her hands. The pup yelped. It almost fell on the ground but Donello’s hands were fast. He caused the little pup before its body reached the ground.
"I am sorry Sis. I thought you liked puppies the most." Donello tried to soothe the whimpering pup.
"But that one is not a puppy. It is a wolf." Danella pouted.
Donello did not say anymore. He gently passed the pup to Yohan and followed his sister as they walked toward King Duncan and the others.
"Father, I won a bronze in fencing, and tomorrow is the awarding. Donello won the silver medal for archery in his division." Danella announced proudly.
"Wow! My grandchildren are so great!" King Duncan praised her sincerely. Last year she did not get any medals at all. A bronze medal was already a feat for her.
Prince Ibarra was silent. He heard from Armando that Amaya won a few gold medals. What was there to be proud of for one silver and bronze?
Ibrarra finally looked at his wife. "Let us attend together." He signaled to Armando who was standing from afar.
"Make arrangements for me and Nelida to attend the closing ceremonies tomorrow."
Armando nodded. He knew too well that Prince Ibarra would be attending because his daughter finally has a medal. But would he be angry if he learned the truth that Danella’s opponent at that time was her lackey and the lackey let her win?
Of course, he will so Armando pretended not to know.
King Duncan, looked at the surrounding. The sun has set and the light from the lamp posts illuminated the garden creating a romantic vibe.
"It is almost dinner time. Let’s go together to have dinner." King Duncan announced.
The children obediently followed the adults who went to the main dining hall.
Marx excused himself and he exited the palace after exchanging their expansion plans for Simply Jewel.
...
The following morning, Amaya woke up early and prepared to go to school. She was excited as that was her first time attending an awarding ceremony. When she went to the dining hall, everyone was there and her Daddy Ibarra has changed into his royal outfit. Her Aunt Nelida was also wearing the Lireyan national costume.
She had a quick breakfast and followed them out to the main entrance of the palace. Their cars were already waiting for them. She and the twins have their own individual cars while the crown prince and the princess consort were riding together in another car.
That morning, there was a long convoy of cars that left Asteria Palace. The convoy drove slowly along the boulevards and headed in the direction of Lireya National High School.
Seniors and a few junior students were waiting at the main entrance to welcome the prince and his princess consort. Ibarra acknowledged them with a nod and the student cadets who were in military cadet uniform escorted them all the way to the auditorium.
The twins Donello and Danella as well as Amaya were walking closely behind. It was a rare sight in school and many students took out their cell phone to take photos.
The principal along with all the other faculties of the school were at the entrance of the auditorium to welcome the Royal Family. The seats in the front were allotted to them while the seats directly behind them were for the faculties and the royal guards.
Marx was also at the venue. Amaya has invited him. He was seated beside the principal and the principal was sitting beside the crown prince. Amaya chose to sit beside him instead of sitting beside Princess Consort Nelida.
When Danella was called on stage to receive her bronze medal, her parents proudly went up the stage to award her the medal. Nelida was all smiles as she stood beside her daughter for the official photo shoot. At that time, they weren’t the prince and the princess of Lireya but rather, parents to Danella.
The smile on Nelida’s face broadened when they were called a second time for Donello’s silver medal on archery. It was a proud moment for the Princess Consort. In the previous years, Donello has always gotten the bronze. A surprise, awaited her. Donello also got a gold medal for men’s fencing.
Then Amaya was called on stage for the track and field events. A thunderous claps filled the auditorium. It was apparent that the first princess was very popular in school. Princess Consort Nelida frowned. She had no choice but to accompany Ibarra on the stage to give the medals to Amaya. Her face became stiff as she plastered a forced smile on her face. She hated the fact that she has to give out a total of four gold medals in track and field alone, another two for archery and one for swimming to Amaya.
"You have surpassed us Aya. During our time, the most medals that we got were four." The Crown Prince was genuinely proud for Amaya though his heart ached for his twins.
