Raised From The Wild-Chapter 147: Marriage Alliance 2
"Grandpa, it cannot be me. I have just arrived remember? I still want to explore Lireya and other places. Besides, I already found my mate."
The guest’s face contorted into an ugly expression but it was so fleeting that nobody saw it. ’What does she meant by she found her mate?’
An awkward silence descended into the room. Nobody spoke for a minute.
’How foolish!’ Zanzara looked down to hide the smirk on her face but it did not escape the keen eyes of the man who was sipping tea.
’She rejected it just like that? Does she knew what opportunity she is giving up? Just how many kings are there in the whole world? Only four!’ Tatiana looked at her younger cousin. ’But then she is still too young and the king is already thirty years old.’ She cast a furtive glance at the king who looked very powerful and virile compared with men in their mid twenties.
Shanaya, the oldest amongst the cousins did not hide her smile. Amaya’s rejection would mean a chance for her. She was no less beautiful compared to her two cousins. She was a famous model in Lireya and has a lot of dignified men pursuing her. She would be more qualified to replace Ra-iya’s queen who died a year ago after giving birth.
"Please forgive my niece for her ignorant words, Your Majesty. She just came to us and we still need to instruct her in a lot of things. We also did not have a chance to prepare her." Princess Consort Nelida broke the silence. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Amaya ignored her aunt. She stepped forward and sat beside her grandfather. She took his hands and clasped them in hers.
"Grandpa, it is not even three months since I came here. I am still very young. I don’t want to get married yet. I want to spend more time with you and Grandma and our family. I still want to go to school. I want to experience more of life and there are still so many things I want to do." Amaya looked at her grandfather with pleading eyes.
The King of Ra-iya was looking down on the teacup but he was actually sizing up the princess. She was even more beautiful in person than in the photos and the videos on the internet. With doe-eyes like that, who could say no to her pleas? Even he, who has a heart of stone was moved by her words. He wanted to have her even more.
King Duncan, patted her head. "Don’t worry Aya. I already told Ralden that it cannot be you as you just recently returned to us."
Amaya breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Grandpa. I thought you don’t want me anymore and are giving me away."
"Silly girl, how can I do that? We lost you for so many years and even thought that you were long gone." King Duncan patted Amaya’s head gently before turning to look at the king of Ra-iya.
"As I told you earlier, King Ralden, Princess Amaya has just returned to us and I am unwilling to let her go yet. To thank you for personally coming over to propose, you can choose from my three other granddaughters who already introduced themselves to you." The older king’s voice was polite as he addressed the young king. He diverted his gaze back to to Amaya.
"Go introduce yourself to King Ralden and pour him a cup of tea. He is our esteemed guest."
Amaya stood and approached the guest. He looked too young to be a king. Prince Ibarra looked older than him but he was still a crown prince. Does that mean that his father has died?
Amaya took the teapot and poured tea on his cup. King Ralden was looking at her intently and he was even more enthralled by her beauty and her swift action. She moved fast but elegant.
Pouring tea by princesses was a tradition in Lireya to honor esteemed guests. It was one of the first few things that Clarissa, her governess taught her. She placed the teapot back on the table then bowed her head and said politely, "My name is Amaya. It is my pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty."
"Don’t I get a handshake princess?"
Amaya was startled. His voice was deep and soothing. No! It wasn’t soothing, but rather hypnotizing. She lifted her head and found herself looking into a pair of dark brown eyes. It was too dark, that at first glance they looked like the color of the night.
Amaya hurriedly extended her hand for a handshake. The king took her right hand and brought it over his lips. Amaya wanted to pull her hand away but his grip on her hand was too strong even for a trained woman like her.
The kiss that he planted on the back of her hand was gentle and warm. Amaya was in a trance as she continued looking at the king whose lips were still pressed on her hand.
Prince Ibrahim frowned. He coughed lightly as he cleared his throat.
King Ralden released her hand. He still smelt his own hand which carried the lingering scent of many flowers. He looked at Amaya with his deep dark brown eyes.
"Since you rejected my marriage proposal, then can the First Princess grant my wish of having dinner, with you along with your cousins?" He spoke in the same deep magnetic voice that seemed to put Amaya in a trance.
Zanzara who was seated beside the king gritted her teeth. She could tell that the royalty beside her was attracted to Amaya. She should try everything in her power to make the handsome king fall in love with her. The temptation of becoming a queen was too great that she has forgotten her infatuation with Marx.
Amaya blinked a few times to come out of a trance. She hesitated for a moment. She could sense that the handsome man was dangerous. She glanced at the man in front of her. "Sure!" Despite the warning bells ringing in her ears, she still needed to be polite to a leader of a country.
"It is settled then." King Ralden smiled gently. "If King Duncan agrees to it, I would like to invite the princesses to a dinner at my yacht."
King Duncan’s eyes turned sharp. "I am sorry King Ralden. We recently encountered problems with terrorists so I cannot agree to your request. Armando will give you a list of restaurants and you can select from there."
Ralden’s expression turned dark but he immediately masked it with a polite smile. Amaya however saw the fleeting darkness and she involuntarily shivered.
"I did not see you during my eighteenth birthday party, Your Majesty." Amaya hastily asked the king when she saw him looked at her secretly.
"I have something important at that time hence I wasn’t able to attend your birthday, Princess and I regretted it." he said in a voice that carried a hint of flirtatiousness.
"It is okay. There were too many people at that time. I didn’t remember a lot of the guests anyway."
"Your Majesty, is this your first time here in Lireya? I can show you around if you want." Zanzara said in a coquettesh voice.
"Why not! The four of you can tour me around after lunch. Is that okay, King Duncan and Prince Ibarra?"
"Of course, King Ralden." King Duncan have no choice but to agree. He cannot reject him twice in a row.
Prince Ibarra was silent all the time. While King Ralden was younger than him, he was still a king and he was only a Crown Prince.
"Grandpa, how come I did not hear about the country of Ra-iya?" Amaya asked.
"Ah, probably, it is because of the location, so people don’t talk much about Ra-Iya. To go there, you need to take the boat or go through the borders of Albanya or Lupanya." King Duncan tried to explain. He also did not know the actual reason why Ra-iya was not popular in Lireya.
"Let me tell you a little bit of history. Ra-iya was the fourth kingdom in the continent of Aesiana. A century ago, there was no Lireya. Aesiana was just one country and was ruled by only one king who was also called an Emperor and your ancestor. The king has four sons. He loved his sons and as a fair father, he divided the kingdom into four. At that time, the oldest and the youngest brothers were not at peace with each other so the elder brother was given the part where he was neighbors with the second and third brothers, but he was separated from the youngest brother with a body of water on the south. In the east, it was the kingdoms of the second and third brothers separating them."
"The elder brother must be the one at fault, or maybe the king was biased towards his youngest son." Amaya who listened carefully to his narration commented.
"You guessed it right, Princess. The king’s firstborn committed a capital crime which was why he was banished to a remote area." King Ralden lamented.
"I see. So it was a banishment." Amaya murmured.
King Ralden heard what Amaya said. Her voice was so soft but he still heard her. He glanced at Amaya with a look of interest. ’What a smart girl.’
