Chapter 137: Archery

Earlier, Amaya has put on the sweat pants that Julienne has given her. She felt that the white jacket was too bulky so she did not wear it.

The practice session was over. The official assigned on archery announced the initial set of players to get ready for the qualification round. Since it was just a qualification round, they just needed to shoot six arrows.

Amaya was not called on the first batch but the royal twins were part of that batch. This was the first time she saw her cousins shooting arrows. Donello fared better than Danella. His arrows hit the rings in the gold and red section of the target, while Danella failed to land an arrow in the inner ring.

Samantha, Raymundo and a few of her classmates were included in the next batch. Samantha was quite good. All her arrows landed in the inner ring though she did not consistently hit the bulls eye. Samantha was feeling proud because of all the qualifiers, she got the highest score.

When it was Amaya’s turn, the crowd started murmuring.

"Why did Princess Amaya continued to play in the qualifying round? Her first arrow even flew to the tree. Is she not ashamed?"

"Hush, just let her be. Who are you to criticize her? She hasn’t experience this kind of things."

"But will she not bring shame to the Royal Family?"

"If I am her, I will not even participate."

"I think she should be good. She grew up in the jungle after all. I saw her bow and arrows in the museum."

"I don’t know about you, but whether she can shoot arrows or not, it does not matter for as long as I can watch my princess." A senior in blue jacket said dreamily as he fixed his stare on Amaya."

His girlfriend who was standing beside him pinched his waist. "How dare you openly show your admiration when I am standing beside you?" The girl smashed her bag on his head and turned to leave. She expected her boyfriend to follow and coax her but the boyfriend stayed where he was and continued to stare at Amaya.

The girl gritted her teeth and came back. She told herself that she should be magnanimous. Anyway, her rival was the First Princess who would not even threw a glance at her boyfriend who was very ordinary.

Amaya took her first arrow, draw the string and released it. She did not pause to check where her arrow landed. She took the second one and released it. She was very relaxed and natural. In two minutes she has released all six arrows.

The audience was dumbfounded. All the six arrows were closely clustered together at the innermost ring of the target.

Samantha could not believe her eyes. Amaya got a perfect score? How was that possible?

Donello was the first to recover his senses. "Sis, you’re awesome. How did you do that?"

"I have a lot of practice. You can do it too, as long as you practice hard."

"I was worried for nothing earlier. I thought you will not qualify but look at your result, it is a perfect score." Julienne chuckled.

"I just got lucky." Amaya shrugged her shoulders.

"Lucky my foot. How can you call that lucky?" She teasingly slap her shoulder with her hand.

Amaya was about to reply when the names of those who qualified were announced.

Danella who saw that many people were fussing over her ’sister’ felt irritated. She turned around to leave with her group.

"Let us go. The sun is getting hot and the atmosphere here is depressing."

"But Princess Ella, your sister is awesome. She is a sure gold medalist. Don’t we go and congratulate her?" Danella’s classmate blurted out.

"If you have nothing good to say, then shout your mouth." Danella retorted.

The chubby girl with two ponytails was baffled. ’Did I say something bad to piss her off?’ She looked at her other classmate helplessly.

Her classmate leaned close to her and whispered on her ear. "Are you stupid? You are rubbing salt to injury. Can’t you sense that Princess Danella don’t like her sister?"

"I see. Now I understand."

Danella who was walking ahead noticed that two of her lackeys were trailing behind.

"What are the two of you talking about?"

"Nothing, Princess. We are just talking about what event to watch next."

Amaya watched the unhappy Danella and her classmates left the venue. Amaya sighed. She did not understand why her younger sister doesn’t seem to like her.

Initially, Amaya did not want to call Ibarra’s children as her siblings. She wanted to draw a line with them and establish her identity as Danaya’s and Ibrahim’s daughter. However, Donello was so sincere in treating her as his older sister that Amaya considered him as her brother as well. Danella however was different. She does not try to hide her resentment which really bothered Amaya.

"Sis, let’s have lunch together. My classmates kept on pestering me to introduce them to you."

"Sure. But can I bring my friends along?"

Donello thought for a moment before agreeing.

Amaya together with Julienne followed the young prince and his classmates to the restaurant. Raymundo excused himself and said that he has a lunch date.

Donello has booked a private room at Royal Chef. The table was round and has a seating capacity of twelve persons but there were around fifteen persons in the room.

The Young Prince told his classmates that three has to get out but no one would want to.

"It is alright, the six of us can take turns. We can stay here for the first thirty minutes and then after thirty minutes, the three of them can come and replace us." One of them suggested.

Amaya: ...

Julienne chuckled. ’These teenagers.’ She thought to herself. "I’ll just eat outside so you have one more seat available."

The class president who was the first born of a Duke said, "You don’t have to do that as you are our guest. Let’s just request for three more chairs and some of you have to squeeze in a bit. It is as simple as that."

He looked at Princess Amaya with interest. His uncle has given him a mission and he should accomplish that.
