Raised From The Wild-Chapter 124: Get Back The Island
"Since you are already here, come inside and take a seat. Agatha serve the guests with tea." The earl’s old voice was amiable.
The three came inside.
"This is my eldest son, Artemio and that is my grandson. They just arrived from Usturia today. They are here for a vacation."
"This is Marx Skylar and the lady there is Princess Amaya." Earl Anishton looked at Juliene, then Amaya. His eyes were telling her to help him out.
"And this is my classmate, Julliene Green."
"So, Father, it is she whom you sold this island to?" Artemio asked bitterly.
Amaya was dumbfounded to hear the sarcasm in his voice. Marx took her hand and squeezed it gently. It was his way of telling her to relax and not talk too much. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Yes, Mr. Anishton. Grandpa said that he cannot take care of this estate anymore and his children did not care so he sold it."
"Of course, we care! That is our inheritance, how can you buy it?" Artemio was furious.
"Artemio, mind your words. Show some respect. She is the First Princess of Lireya. It is I, who wanted to sell the property to them." Earl Anishton reprimanded his son in a gentle voice.
"Father, you made a big mistake. Please void the contract." Artemio lowered his tone. He was pleading with his father.
"The contract cannot be voided anymore. It was signed by both parties and notarized by the legal team." Marx interjected.
Artemio looked ugly when he heard what Marx said. He can only sigh and stay quiet. They were facing a very formidable opponent. Why was it the Princess of Lireya? If it was someone else then they can come up with ways to void the contract. But it was the princess and to make matters worse, it looked like the famous CEO of Usturia was also her backer.
He regretted not paying attention to his father. If he came back when he asked him to, then the old man shouldn’t have sold the entire island. Now, it was too late unless he would use unscrupulous means to get back the Island.
He really wanted to kill his father for such stupid action. What will happen to his plan now? No matter what happened, he cannot lose the island.
"Princess, my father was not in his right mind when he sold the island to you, so the contract is not valid."
Earl Anishton glared at his son. They ignored him previously despite repeated calls and messages to them and now that the deal was done he was showing his resistance.
"Mr. Artemio, Grandpa Earl was in his right state of mind when he signed the contract, so don’t slander him. Even now, Grandpa looked very healthy," Amaya spoke calmly.
Artemio glared at Amaya. He realized his mistake and looked away immediately.
"We are tired, Father. We will rest first then we talk again later." Artemio dragged his son and let Agatha accompany them to their rooms.
Marx followed the middleman with a sharp gaze. He could sense that he was planning for something big in the next few days.
"Don’t mind him." the Earl gestured to the trio to sit down. "What brought you here?"
"Grandpa, I would like to ask if you visited the big mountain during your heydays?" Amaya teased a little bit.
Earl Anisthon’s eyes flickered. He paused and seemed to be in a daze as he tried to recall something that was painful.
"I have been there once, but it resulted in a disaster so I avoided the place."
"Disaster?" Amaya asked.
"Yes. There were ten of us and they were my classmates. When we were halfway through our climb, there was a sudden earthquake and big boulders came rolling down the mountain." He paused and the corner of his eyes reddened. "They were all buried under the landslide while I barely escaped from the clasp of death."
"I am sorry to hear that Grandpa. Their families must have been deeply saddened by the event." Amaya’s voice was tinged with sadness.
"Of course." Earl Anishton answered with a voice that trembled slightly. "Ever since that tragedy, I did not go to the mountains anymore."
"Was there an investigation on the mountain?" Marx asked.
"No. Everyone accepted it as a natural calamity that was triggered by an earthquake," the Earl frowned. What were these two youngsters driving at?
"Grandpa, do you know what kind of animals were in the second mountain? On the smaller mountain, we found hares, pheasants, snakes, wolves, and monkeys."
"I don’t really know as I wasn’t able to explore it. But there should be wolves and deers and snakes of course. There should be more."
Marx glanced at Amaya before saying. "Sorry for keeping you, Earl Anishton. It is time for us to make our move. We need to visit the young pups that Amaya saved."
"What did you say?" the Earl perked up when he heard about a pup.
"We encountered a pregnant wolf that was in labor. It was badly injured and died before it could deliver its babies. Amaya did a caesarian and took out three pups from the dead mother." Marx narrated casually.
"Where are the pups now? Can I adopt them?" Earl Anishton was excited. It seemed that he has an affinity for the animals on the island. "I encountered a wounded pup at the foot of the mountain some years ago. I took it home and took care of it. It was a very good pet and had saved my life twice. Unfortunately, it died of old age."
Marx looked at Amaya. She was the one who saved the pup so she can decide what to do with them. Amaya nodded.
"Dave should have brought them to the zoo to be taken care of. They are just newborns and very weak. When they became stronger, you can take a look."
The old man beamed happily. He was looking forward to having a wolf as a pet. He accompanied the trio to the door and send them off.
Artemio came out of his room and approached his father with a gloomy expression.
"Father, if you still consider me and my siblings as your children, then return the money and get back the island from the Princess!"
