Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 604 - 206: Kneel Down_2
Being able to handle something that even the Nether River Patriarch couldn’t, could that old man be an ordinary person?
At that thought, Qin Shou declared firmly, "Impossible! The elder’s life is as boundless as the heavens, and his body is tougher than yours. How could he pass away?"
No sooner had he spoken than a cough came from inside the thatched hut, "You’ve got some conscience, kid. Come on in." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Once Qin Shou heard this, he was overjoyed, "Damn, flattering him worked!"
Hearing the noise from the hut, the Zhongshan Daoist, Li Zhenying, and others were all startled, then they all turned to look at Qin Shou.
Qin Shou said, "What are you looking at? Let’s go in!"
Having said that, Qin Shou led the way into the yard. However, he did not enter the house but sat down quietly by the broken table, waiting. He remembered that last time the old man did not allow them to enter the house, so out of respect, Qin Shou did not go in this time either.
Seeing Qin Shou being so well-behaved, the others didn’t dare to be too presumptuous and sat down to one side as well.
At this time, Leiqiu in the sky also came back to his senses, asking, "Where is this?"
The Black Qilin growled a few times, but it was unclear whether it was speaking or simply howling.
Leiqiu seemed to really have no interest in talking to the Black Qilin anymore and muttered to himself, "This seems like the Deer Hunting Plain ... Deer Hunting... Could there still be people here from the times of Chiyou or the Yan Emperor? No, that can’t be right... Didn’t they all die or scatter back then?"
Then Leiqiu laughed dismissively, "Damn it, what am I afraid of! Although the Earthly Immortal Realm is full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers, the strong are known, each one a famous and named figure. Who would be a nobody here, acting like a grandson?"
With that thought, Leiqiu patted the head of the Kylin and said, "Let’s go, descend!"
The Black Qilin dove down, landing smack in the middle of the courtyard!
Leiqiu laughed heartily three times, "Bunny, see where you can run now, kneel down!"
The rabbits turned around to see the imposing Black Qilin descending from the sky, only to land with a thump, kneeling right in front of everyone.
Everyone exchanged glances, each looking at the other, with no clue what had just happened.
Qin Shou couldn’t help but say, "This... quite a grand greeting, huh?"
Seeing this, Leiqiu cursed, "Useless thing, I didn’t tell you to kneel!"
Leiqiu jumped off the Black Qilin, only to find his legs gave way, and with a thump, he knelt on the ground!
Qin Shou scratched his head and said, "Is this... your way of apologizing?"
Leiqiu’s face turned beet red, but he knew something was off! Because to his dismay, he found he couldn’t stand up! His abundant mana was completely useless, not a bit of it could he muster... He knew he had probably encountered a true master this time!
Just then, the door creaked open with an aged sound, followed by an old man slowly walking out.
The elderly man had white hair and a skeletal frame, standing there as if he were a walking skeleton. In his hand, he held an old copper lamp; his eyes were so dark it was nearly impossible to distinguish the pupils, resembling a cataract patient.
The old man wobbled over to Leiqiu, shone the light on him, then sighed, "Where’s the person?"
Qin Shou cleared his throat and said, "Elder, he’s down here."
Only then did the old man bend over, look down, lower the lamp for a better look, and said indifferently, "You’re already dead, why persist in wrongdoing? Since you’re here, just kneel at the door."
After saying that, the old man, paying no heed to the astonished Leiqiu, then glanced at the Black Qilin and said, "Lucky for you to be alive, go kneel at the door as well."
The Black Qilin decisively crawled to the door, kneeling respectfully and motionless!
Leiqiu wanted to say something, but at that moment, he was transfixed by the short stick slung at the elder’s waist. The stick was just slightly longer than a two-hand grip, wrapped in a strip of cloth. The original color of the cloth was indiscernible, now blackened and brown as if stained with dried blood.
After a moment’s look, Leiqiu respectfully knocked his head, then simply knelt and crawled to the door, kneeling beside the Black Qilin, motionless before the doorway.
Seeing this scene, Qin Shou and the others were dumbfounded.
The Black Qilin was at least a Golden Immortal!
Even if that short fellow was weaker, he was the master of a Golden Immortal, which means he’s at least at the level of a Golden Immortal!
Being able to make two Golden Immortals voluntarily kneel at the doorway, and not even daring to utter a harsh word, was a bit terrifying...
However, what Qin Shou was more concerned about was the old man’s remark just now. He said Leiqiu was a dead person? How was that possible?
Qin Shou had seen countless dead people, the Netherworld had many, but he had never seen any dead person with such vigorous yang energy! Moreover, in no way did Leiqiu look like a dead person!
Qin Shou looked at the old man and asked, "Old man..."
But the old man waved his hand and said, "Drink this cup of tea, then leave."
While speaking, the old man slowly poured a cup of murky tea for everyone.
If it had been any other time, these people, who were all fastidious, would definitely have refused to drink such obviously inferior tea.
Including now, Li Zhenying and the others were a bit hesitant.
Only Qin Shou gave them a look and said to himself, "Fools, the tea offered by such an awesome person couldn’t be bad, right? It must be a treasure!"
Without another word, Qin Shou tipped his head back and drank! Then he said, "If you’re not drinking, just leave them there; I’ll drink it myself."
Then they heard the old man mutter, "Seems like I fetched the wrong one..."
Sputter!
Qin Shou sprayed the tea far away...
Seeing this, the others couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Zhongshan Daoist immediately pushed his cup of tea forward and said, "Rabbit, you drink it, go on, don’t be shy."
The Bronze Dragon also passed his over, even Li Zhenying, with a pout, pushed her cup forward.
Only Kui San picked up the teacup and stared intently into it...
Qin Shou said, "See? True friends show their colors in tough times, Kui San is really loyal!"
Then they heard Kui San say, "Such a small cup, that’s not enough to drink. Can I have that pot?"
The old man casually handed it over to Kui San.
After taking it, Kui San placed the pot, which was even bigger than the rabbit, in front of Qin Shou and said, "Drink up! If that’s not enough, I’ll ask for more for you."
Qin Shou just felt black lines all over his forehead; for the first time, he had the urge to smack the fool!
The others could no longer hold back, and burst into roaring laughter.
The old man also chuckled twice and then pointed outside, "If I’ve given the wrong one, then so be it, I won’t pour anymore. You guys must have things to do, right? Better get going early."
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou suddenly remembered the burning Tai Mountain, so he asked, "Old man, what’s your strength like?"
The old man was startled and then rolled up his sleeves, showing his withered arm and said, "What do you think?"
Qin Shou replied, "Can you stop joking at a time like this? This matter concerns the life and death of the world."
The old man shook his head and said, "I’ve seen too many life-and-death matters, one more won’t make a difference. Hurry on now..."
After that, the old man ignored Qin Shou and went straight back into the house.
Li Zhenying and the others looked at Qin Shou, who helplessly said, "Forget it, if he doesn’t want to meddle in others’ affairs, we should still go seek the ancestor of the Earthly Immortal."
After speaking, Qin Shou asked the old man, "Old man, what exactly is this tea?"
A voice came from inside the house, "Should be the water for cleaning pots..."
Qin Shou’s face darkened even more.
The group was pressed for time, and since the old man was not willing to help, they really couldn’t afford to waste any more time.
However, before leaving, Qin Shou still took the big teapot and a few cups along with him.
Li Zhenying asked baffledly, "Bunny, are you really going to drink that?"
Qin Shou bared his teeth and said, "Look how poor he is; that’s probably his only pot."
Li Zhenying didn’t understand what Qin Shou meant, but Zhongshan Daoist looked at him with a strange expression and after a while said, "That’s really mean of you!"
Qin Shou just looked unapologetic... but he took a deep look at the thatched cottage. Since the old man didn’t stop him from taking the pot, it meant that the thing was indeed for him. But he still couldn’t figure out what use it had. He looked at the teapot with his Treasured Eye, and found it to be just a simple, ordinary pot. Its iron skin had become a thin layer due to long-term exposure to heat, as if it might break at any moment.
Shaking his head helplessly, Qin Shou stuffed the teapot into the Black Demon Box and then pointed westward, "Let’s go, to the Wuzhuang Temple!"
