Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 602 - 205 Rabbit Run Fast [First Update] Burst_2
Leiqiu sneered, "Rabbit, what do you think the Black Qilin relies on to hunt those demons with magic? Once he targets someone, the void locks down, and you can’t send out any signals. All instant teleportation and similar magic are completely blocked. In terms of speed, a single leg of Black Qilin is faster than you!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou’s face instantly turned ugly. The look in everyone else’s eyes as they gazed at him was a mix of ’go on, keep acting tough. Got yourself in trouble now, haven’t you?’ However, it was clear to everyone that, although the rabbit seemed to be courting death, in reality, he was trying to buy time for everyone, even now just stalling with his words, so nobody actually blamed him.
But Qin Shou quickly regained his composure and responded, "That’s what you’re saying, huh? If you’re so capable, let us loose on one leg!"
Leiqiu: "..."
Leiqiu had never seen someone with such a shameless face in his life.
Li Zhenying and the others covered their faces, realizing that following this rabbit would inevitably lead to them losing face sooner or later.
But then everyone started to get it—if Black Qilin really let them go on one leg, they’d still have a chance to escape.
Thus, the crafty old Zhongshan Daoist was the first to shout out, "The Black Qilin is the king among the Kylin clan, how could he go back on his word?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Li Zhenying said, "I’ve heard that though Black Qilin is brutal, his word is his bond, never having gone back on his word. What do you guys think?"
Kui San, not thinking too much into it, just said what was on his mind, "I don’t think this big black guy looks like someone who keeps his promises."
Leiqiu’s face turned dark when he heard this, angrily retorting, "I’m not a Kylin; I can renege on my words if I want to. Just wait till I finish you off! Black Qilin, speed up!"
However, what frustrated Leiqiu was that, uncharacteristically, Black Qilin didn’t speed up; instead, he lifted his hind leg... and started running on three legs.
It was always said that Black Qilin wasn’t good with magic, not knowing any. Being able to fly or burrow was also considered a kind of magic. Black Qilin relied on the speed of rushing on four legs, stepping across the void, to be precise, he was fast runner, not truly capable of flying. Now missing one leg, he started to run unevenly, his body bobbing high and low, fast and slow!
Leiqiu, caught off guard, nearly got thrown off and had to grab tightly onto Black Qilin’s fur. Furious, he exclaimed, "Are you f*cking stupid? Running on three legs for real? If I say two legs, will you run on two legs then?"
Just as he said this, he heard the rabbit in front shouting, "You said it, so do it! Two legs! No cheating! For the glory of Black Qilin!"
Then, to Leiqiu’s astonishment, he watched as Black Qilin really started running on two legs... Three legs were already wobbly, and a Kylin on two legs was basically like a kangaroo, except he lacked that long tail of a kangaroo, resulting in a series of hops and near faceplants...
Originally, Leiqiu was riding the Black Qilin, but as this went on, his expression became increasingly awful...
Zhongshan Daoist murmured softly, "Such a shameful way to ride, no wonder his complexion is looking so bad."
Qin Shou said, "Not necessarily. Maybe his skin is thick, but he’s getting carsick."
"What’s carsick?" Li Zhenying naively asked.
Qin Shou shook his head, "It’s similar to seasickness."
Li Zhenying tilted her head, inquiring, "What’s seasickness?"
It then dawned on Qin Shou that Li Zhenying, who had lived a life of luxury since birth and was naturally born of Immortal stock, had never set foot on a car or boat. After thinking for a while, he said, "You’ll understand when you grow up."
Li Zhenying: "..."
"Don’t get cocky, although Black Qilin is running on two legs... er, hopping, his physical body is extremely strong and adaptable. He’ll quickly get used to it. When that happens, we still won’t be able to outrun him, the difference in strength is too great!" the bronze dragon reminded everyone.
Qin Shou understood this and pulled out a large cauldron, tossing it to the bronze dragon, "You’ve always wanted it, take it. Now it’s up to you. If we escape, we’ll feast to celebrate; if not, they’ll get to feast. It’s your call."
The idea of the Black Qilin feasting on steamed dragon meat and braised rabbit head flashed through the bronze dragon’s mind, sending a shiver down his spine. He quickly led everyone into the cauldron. The cauldron, clearly treasured by the bronze dragon for being his abode, activated with a burst of energy as soon as he entered it, emitting a beam of green light and suddenly increasing in speed! It was soon showing signs of gaining distance from Black Qilin!
Amazed, Qin Shou asked, "Old Bronze, what exactly are you? I’m beginning to feel like it’s not really a bond between you and the cauldron."
After a hum, the bronze dragon finally revealed, "I am the spirit of the cauldron; my current body is a part of the cauldron. Of course, you having half of the cauldron wouldn’t do much. But merged with the cauldron, I form the complete Dragon Hiding Cauldron. The Dragon Hiding Cauldron is a nurture spiritual treasure. Though it can’t compare to nature spirit treasures like the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover, it does pack some punch."
Qin Shou scratched his head and said, "So you’re saying you were made by someone?"
The bronze dragon nodded.
Unable to restrain his curiosity, Qin Shou asked, "Who the hell carved your body into such a bird-like shape? A head as big as a pot lid, a body as tiny as an eel... Didn’t he have astigmatism?"
Upon hearing this, the bronze dragon nearly toppled over with the Dragon Hiding Cauldron, but after steadying himself, he huffed, "If you want to stay alive, you’d better shut up. By the way, where are we running to?"
Qin Shou covered his mouth, indicating that he would stay quiet.
The bronze dragon pleaded with a cry in his voice, "Big brother, can you be serious for a moment? We’re in hot water here."
Qin Shou said, "Why should I say anything if you’re running the right way?"
"The right way?" the bronze dragon asked.
Qin Shou nodded and said, "Yeah, the Tang Monk ran westward, passing by the Wuzhuang Temple. We’re headed west too, so we should run into him, right?"
"Who is Tang Monk?" the ever-curious Li Zhenying asked.
Not sure how to explain, Qin Shou said, "You’ll understand when you’re older."
Li Zhenying: "..."
After confirming their direction, the bronze dragon ran furiously to the west.
However, the good times didn’t last long. As the bronze dragon had said, the Black Qilin quickly adapted to running on two legs and his speed increased. Although the Dragon Hiding Cauldron and the bronze dragon became more in sync and ran faster, overall, they couldn’t outpace the Black Qilin’s growth. The distance between them closed, and they could even turn their heads to see the bone fragments stuck on the Black Qilin’s large yellow teeth that he hadn’t swallowed.
"Rabbit, do you have any more tricks up your sleeve? This guy’s getting faster," the Zhongshan Daoist, lying behind the cauldron and eyeing the Black Qilin, asked with a quivering voice.
Qin Shou rolled his eyes and said, "Don’t you have a brain? Can’t you think of something yourself? You want me to come up with everything. I’m not omnipotent, you know."
Zhongshan Daoist said, "My brain is too fried to think. The only thing I can think of now is what pose to strike and what slogan to shout when I die, so it won’t seem too disgraceful."
Qin Shou: "..."
Li Zhenying said, "Bunny, you have to think of something fast. You’re the smartest one here."
Qin Shou gave a wry smile. Smart? He was not smart; he just thought differently than the people of this world. But he wasn’t omnipotent. Could he fool the opponent once, twice, and expect to fool them three, four times? Moreover, the opponent wasn’t stupid, especially that dwarf. He had been chasing them, covering his mouth the whole time, refusing to speak, not giving them a chance.
Without the other party talking, Qin Shou’s verbal assaults were useless.
But at this life-or-death moment, he really needed to come up with something...
That’s when Kui San said, "How about I go and block him for a while?"
Everyone quickly grabbed him and said, "Don’t be an idiot, that son of a gun has the body of a Golden Immortal. You’d be slapped to death in a single blow, not even enough to scratch him."
Kui San, undeterred, said, "Once I grow up, I’ll slap him dead with one hand!"
Qin Shou quickly nodded and said, "Right, right, right... but that’s for the future when you’re all grown up. For now, just stay put."
Just then, Li Zhenying suddenly shouted, "Bunny, look ahead! What’s that place? It looks so eerie!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou turned to look, and his eyes immediately lit up!
