Chapter 516: 8.33 - Thrilled To Spoil His Wife - Monster Heist

"But I like monkey too." Bing Shi sniffled and looked down at her body, "Oh no..." she uttered meekly, "Could you help me regain a little weight? I really wish to look more plump... if that’s okay with you."

The speed at which her body was thinning down was alarming. Her skin stretched tight over her bones, and her clothes hung off her like rags. That’s how she really looked without Victor’s magical spell.

"Sweetie..." Ru Quan paused as he took off her mask. The sight made him feel like she had been stolen from him. It was like someone had taken his precious gem and polished it until it no longer belonged to him. She didn’t look like Silvia but more like Olivia. Someone, he was not familiar with. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

His rage smoldered within him like a lit matchstick. He worked quickly, nullifying all the spells on her body and ensuring that she was once again in control of her appearance. He couldn’t stand by and watch as someone played with her like a doll, manipulating her appearance however they pleased.

Bing Shi nodded silently. She got out of the shower and sat on the toilet seat, swinging her feet back and forth like a little girl, waiting patiently for Ru Quan to dry up. She loved the mask. She could breathe freely underneath it, and it was lightweight as if she only had a thin veil over her face.

"Could you implement into the monkey a spell that could blow my snots too, please?"

Ru Quan got out of the shower, thrilled to spoil his wife with more gifts, "Absolutely." He put the fixed mask back on her face while looking for a way to implement her specific wish.

"I’m sorry for getting into trouble again." Bing Shi signed the marriage certificate that Ru Quan had presented to her as if it was a shopping list rather than a legal document. "I just wanted to show Victor that I won’t allow him or anyone else to mess with Shina the way they did with Silvia," she trailed off, "I enjoy my time with my team and I don’t want them to suffer because of my past. I didn’t expect Victor to break my monkey to get access to my lips."

Ru Quan let out a chuckle that sounded more like a sinister cackle, "Don’t worry, he will think twice before attempting anything like that again." He carefully slipped the signed marriage certificate into Bing Shi’s crossbody bag in case she needed some blackmailing material in the future.

Bing Shi looked inside her bag, "Are you trying to paint yourself as a good man at my cost again?"

Ru Quan chuckled in response as he pecked her new mask, "You took advantage of me as I was under the alcohol’s influence. It’s only right I give you a drastic makeover."

Bing Shi opened her mouth in realization, nodding. He gave himself a reason to break Victor’s spell, "And what do you mean by he will think twice to kiss me again?"

Victor began to rub his mouth vigorously in disgust, trying to wipe away the feeling of her mask against his lips. He felt like retching, it wasn’t just the texture of shit that disgusted him, but also a smell that it began to emit, a pungent and nauseating odor in his nose and mouth that made him want to gag. He quickly stumbled towards the bathroom, feeling his stomach churn.

He shook his head as he saw his reflection in the mirror. His face had morphed into that of an old, wrinkled man, his skin sagged and his hair turned wispy and white. It was never specified what old man the loser must change into.

Victor could have changed into a young man with a few wrinkles and passed the deal. So what was worsening his state? He channeled his energy to find out that he had also been cursed by a powerful spell.

Was it the mask, or... He widened his eyes as he looked down at his chest, among all the black doodles and bloody wounds, there it was...a curse mark. As he examined the mark on his chest, he realized that it was a complicated curse involving dark magic and devilish practices from outside of this world.

Every curse had a remedy, and his appeared to be receiving a true love’s kiss.

So this was what she meant by making sure he wouldn’t chicken out.

The kiss he just gave her caused his rapid aging. The good news was, she wasn’t his true love. The bad news was that his curse would worsen if he touched anyone who wasn’t his true love.

Ru Quan had a different approach to protecting his wife. Instead of doing it upfront, he would enhance her image and make it appear as if she was the one with immense power and control.

Dai An’s priorities and interests didn’t always align with Bing Shi’s needs, but when they did, they would become a powerful combination.

When Bing Shi told Ru Quan about the curse she wanted Dai An to use on Victor, he saw an opportunity to give her a mask that would match the powers she was comfortable revealing. He would have blown up Victor’s face, but it was not what his wife would do.

By doing so, Victor would think that Bing Shi was the creator of the mask. It would still allow Victor to feel like he had an upper hand over her, but it would make him be more cautious and keep a safe distance.

Later that day, Dai An received a reprimand from Xuan Mu as he expressed his concern at the possibility of a kiss from Victor, which had not been previously mentioned. |"I didn’t know your plan included giving me a love rival as well. For someone who wanted to shake him off the most, you seem to be doing the opposite."|

Dai An hung her head, a hint of defensiveness creeping into her voice as she fled back into Bing Shi, |"I explicitly instructed Bing Shi to use the sedatives on Victor, try if he wakes up with a deep wound, and then flee. I did not ask her to use him as a practice canvas for her artistic expression."|

Bing Shi who had been listening to their conversation from the safety of their kitchen flew over to the playground to feed her son, |"It doesn’t matter anymore. I’ve been trying to shake him off for so long, but he always seems to find a way back into my life."|

She gave Stinky Bun a piece of stir-fried beef with a bit of rice, |"I’ve decided that if he’s going to stick around, I’d rather make peace than constantly be at odds with him."| Today, she made sure that the one who was going to tiptoe around her like a ballerina on thin ice would be him, not her.

Stinky Bun squeaked in agreement, happy to be enjoying a tasty piece of beef.
