Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 805 - 803: Hidden Seeds of Affection (1)
Camila Ruiz felt a bit frustrated, and somewhat helpless. Jimmy Horne is no longer the Jimmy from ten years ago; he's become more unfathomable and elusive than before. She wasn't his match back then, and now... Camila forced a bitter smile; it seems like Jimmy has her in the palm of his hand now.
The expressionless men all glanced at her coldly.
Camila Ruiz had seen plenty of indifferent men. Aren't Jimmy Horne's second uncle and fourth uncle indifferent people? But it's rare to see people who exude such an icy aura like these men in front of her.
Without Jimmy Horne, the space outside felt unnatural to her, and the atmosphere was deeply awkward.
Reluctantly shifting her feet, she resigned herself to walking outside.
She had just eaten until full, and taking a walk after a meal is good for the body.
Moreover, she could get a sense of where she was now.
Camila Ruiz walked out of the house and could no longer see Jimmy's figure.
Instantly, suspicion arose in her heart. Has that guy had wings on his heels and walked so fast, or is he hiding somewhere to scare her? With this thought, Camila walked cautiously, occasionally glancing at the dark corners.
A full moon hung in the black sky, stars densely sprinkled across like sesame seeds, filling the sky. It was quite a beautiful night, with the bright moon, stars, accompanied by cool breezes. If she hadn't been abducted here, Camila might have been in a good mood appreciating this beautiful night sky.
The sound of waves roared.
Only then did Camila hear the sound of the sea waves.
The sound of waves had always been present; she just hadn't paid attention to it.
No wonder the night here isn't hot; it's near the sea, where the strong sea breeze disperses the daytime heat.
Stepping outside, Camila scrutinized her surroundings by moonlight and realized that aside from that three-story old building, there were no other structures, only some woods and open fields.
The open field had sparse vegetables planted; the green vegetables she had eaten earlier were actually grown by themselves.
She had thought they were bought from outside.
"Woof woof—"
Suddenly, a dog's barking came from afar.
Camila raised her eyebrows; are there dogs kept here?
Thinking of the snake Jimmy Horne had, Camila let out a small laugh. He's kept snakes, so it's normal to have dogs too; it's probably Jimmy who has them.
Her heart throbbed mysteriously.
Jimmy must feel rather lonely, which is why he keeps pets to accompany him.
Camila followed the sound of barking to the edge of the island and saw one person and two dogs standing atop a rock. That person had their back to her, but with just one glance, she could confirm he was Jimmy Horne, who had left her and walked out of the house.
Two dogs, one black, one white, both fierce and tall German Shepherds.
Seeing Camila appear, the two dogs barked wildly and jumped off the rock, rushing toward her.
"Whitey, Spidy." Jimmy called lowly, and the two dogs halted their advance toward Camila but still glared at her cautiously.
Camila felt somewhat fearful, but kept walking slowly; compared to German Shepherds, she feared snakes more.
Jimmy stood in place, not moving toward her, just gazing at her deeply, watching as she took one step after another toward him. Suddenly, a trace of a smile appeared on his lips.
The two dogs retreated as Camila approached them. They stopped barking, likely realizing she wouldn't harm their master.
"Why are you standing here? The wind is strong." Camila reached the rock, which was tall and couldn't be climbed, so she stood at the base, looking up at Jimmy.
The bright moonlight illuminated her lovely face; those big bright eyes clear and glistening, seemingly brighter than the moon itself. Her slightly slender neck exposed as she tilted her head upwards, making Jimmy inadvertently blink and his deep eyes lock onto hers even more intensely, radiating firmly.
He stood high, she stood low, both gazing in opposite directions.
"Do you want to come up?"
Jimmy asked, smiling.
Camila cast him a sharp look; obviously, if she didn't want to, why would she try climbing just now?
Jimmy restrained his smile slightly, bent over, extended his hand to her, and said: "Let me pull you up."
Camila hesitated a little, then relented, placing her hand in Jimmy's.
Jimmy pulled her onto the rock, his calloused and solid hand barely brushing against her soft little hand. Despite being the same age, he's only three months older than her, yet his hand grew firm and large while hers remained child-like, small, soft, and slender, always sparking a peculiar sensation when he holds it.
The thing that delights him most is her willingness to let him hold her hand.
Perhaps she has no other intentions.
Sighing softly in the depths of his heart, Jimmy knew his heart was slowly changing, but he was uncertain if Camila's heart would keep pace with his.
"The sea breeze here is strong and refreshing; on this hot night, standing here feels comfortable. Most importantly, that direction faces Syrena, and I miss home." Jimmy pointed to a direction across the sea, straight in front of the rock, expressing his feelings honestly. He had no need to hide his longing for home in front of Camila.
Until the age of five, he grew up under the care and protection of his aunts and uncles, and he missed them, missed everything about the Horne Family.
Most of all, he missed his parents.
Camila remained silent.
She didn't know how to comfort him.
The best she could do was stand by his side, looking out into the distance with him.
There's nothing but the sea to see in the dark haze. Neither of them had supernatural sight to see Syrena.
Apart from the sound of waves crashing into their ears, there was nothing else.
The sea wind blew, spraying the sea waves, occasionally roaring, lifting up her full head of hair, revealing a face that could count as charming.
Whitey and Black Spidy stood quietly behind the two, their ears perked up, ready to bark at any sign of disturbance.
The two stood on the rock with the dogs, not speaking, seeming as if frozen by Wukong's magic.
After a while, Jimmy apologetically asked: "Are you still angry with me?"
He had her brought here forcibly, without leaving a message for her parents to reassure them about her safety. It was intentional and his mistake, fueled by his own selfishness. If he had people openly take her, she wouldn't be here. Hansen Ruiz wouldn't agree to have her come here to accompany him, because firstly, it's not safe here, and secondly, it's all men here.
And what he thought was...
"Does being angry help?" Camila retorted irritably.
She hadn't thought for ten years that their meeting would be this way.
