Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 790 - 788_1
Downstairs.
In the Side Hall, Julia looked at her phone, took a few more sips of milk, and then chuckled softly, "I wonder if it’ll be of any use."
Glades caressed her cheeks tenderly. Her oval face, enriched with nutrition due to her pregnancy, had become fuller than usual, yet it exuded even more femininity and charm. In his eyes, she was like Avalokitesvara, as beautiful as ever, year after year. Standing together, they were truly a well-matched pair of talent and beauty.
And he loved her dearly. He loved it when she snuggled unrestrainedly in his embrace and when she was vivacious and animated. He especially adored the mischievous twinkle in her eyes; even when she was pulling a prank, her heart was always in the right place, as she always meant well for others. He also liked her occasional meddling. Whether they were her strengths or flaws, he embraced them all.
"Aren’t you afraid that calling Adele so rashly might just interrupt her romantic time with Noah Reyes?" Glades saw the cup in her hand; most of the milk was gone. A flash of relief passed through his eyes. She was not particularly fond of milk and would sometimes sneak it off to their son when he wasn’t watching. Their son, Ivan, would sometimes secretly complain to him after being coaxed by her into drinking too much.
His large hand continued to caress her face affectionately, with gentle, intermittent strokes.
Julia sat up straight, leaving Glades’s embrace. She placed the cup casually on the coffee table, tilted her head, and, with a smile brimming in her eyes, giggled at her man, "It’s precisely an unexpected call from me that allows them to be romantic." She believed she understood her sister-in-law’s thoughts and character thoroughly. She was certain that if she didn’t make that sudden call upstairs, Adele’s heart would still be in turmoil. Don’t think that after half a year, she could clear her head so easily. Sometimes, understanding is one thing, but actual behavior is another.
"Glades, it’s been a long time since I’ve had noodles. I suddenly crave the noodles you make for me by hand. Can you fulfill this wish for me?" Julia batted her beautiful eyes, smiling coquettishly. She had already stolen Glades’s heart without even trying to act cute. And when she did, there wasn’t a hint of artificiality; it was always so natural, as if being coquettish was second nature to her. She wasn’t overly saccharine or simpering, yet her charm radiated effortlessly, captivating anyone who saw her.
Glades cupped her chin and leaned his handsome face closer. His distinctly masculine and mature scent wafted over her pretty face. His deep, husky, and magnetic voice, full of tenderness, said, "My dear, when have I ever not fulfilled your wishes?"
"Then, please do."
Jimmy burst in, an unwelcome little third wheel. The little fellow was worried because his parents had been upstairs for so long and hadn’t come down. He knew his mommy’s attitude towards his daddy could be quite harsh, so he was thinking of asking his Aunt Adele to go upstairs and check on them. In this house, the only person who could roam freely without hindrance was Aunt Adele.
Receiving Glades’s deadly glare, Jimmy touched his head, not understanding. His uncle looked ready to kill—it was terrifying. Unable to withstand the murderous stare, Jimmy touched his head again and turned to run. Forget it, I might as well wait for the results. Daddy is so tall; Mommy probably can’t bully him.
"I really want to throw Billy into the Pacific Ocean!" Glades said in a low voice.
"Hehe, cook the noodles for me first, then you can throw your dear nephew into the Pacific Ocean," Julia laughed as she gently pushed him.
"Let’s go."
Glades suddenly took Julia’s hand and quickly led her outside. His steps were hurried, but he remained mindful that his wife was six months pregnant. He carefully guided her, ensuring she could keep up with his pace.
"Glades, where are you taking me?"
Glades pulled her along, leading her out of the Side Hall. They passed through the main hall, which was filled with people, and then exited the Main House. As the cold outside air hit them, he suddenly stopped. He told Julia to wait for him right there. In a few quick strides, he dashed upstairs to their room and retrieved a warm, beige coat for her. After helping Julia put it on, he once again took her hand, and they left the Main House, heading towards the parking lot.
"Daddy, Mommy, where are you going?" Ivan saw his parents leaving in a hurry and immediately jogged after them, calling out as he ran.
Without looking back, Glades issued a deep command that landed at his son’s feet, "Don’t follow us, or Daddy will throw you into the Pacific Ocean!"
Ivan stopped in his tracks. When Daddy gave orders with a warning tone, it meant he wanted Mommy all to himself.
