Chapter 568: Chapter 568 Jealousy is a Joke (3)_1

"Julia, what do you think of me?"

Glades Horne had already stopped eating. His own wife was praising another man; how could he possibly maintain his appetite? He subtly moved his chair closer, then closer still, until he was practically glued to Julia. His handsome face drew near hers, his inscrutable gaze burning into her pretty face as he posed a very dangerous question.

"You? You’re quite remarkable. You have a top-notch family background, education, status, appearance, and physique. Everything about you is first-class. Heaven has truly favored you, lavishing all a man’s best qualities upon you. So, Glades, why the sudden questions? You’re being silly." Julia chuckled, pushing his handsome face away slightly. Even though they’d been married for so long, being this close to his god-like handsome face still made her heart race.

This man... she had described him perfectly. He was naturally someone to be envied.

"Am I not refined and scholarly? Am I not a modest gentleman? Is my temper bad? If you were looking for a husband, wouldn’t someone like me be a good choice?" Glades Horne asked sourly.

Julia blinked, stared at him, then burst into laughter. "Glades, no way! Are you jealous? Just because I said Flynn Walker is quite good, you’re jealous? Glades, you’re a grown man; don’t be so petty, alright?" As she spoke, Julia couldn’t help but laugh again.

After all this time, it turned out he was jealous. His tendency to get jealous over the slightest thing hadn’t changed a bit!

"You praise another man, and I can’t be jealous?"

"Glades..." Julia quickly pushed him away, laughing as she stood up. "You tyrant, you miser! I’m not talking to you anymore." Then, still chuckling, she slipped out of the room.

Glades Horne remained seated, watching her charming figure disappear from view, his eyes once again deep and inscrutable.

Outside, Flynn Walker had not yet departed.

Inside, Adele Horne paid him no mind at all, sitting on the couch and flipping through a childcare book.

James Horne and the old lady both stood up. They walked to the Main House doorway, glancing at Flynn Walker, who was still lingering by the villa’s entrance.

"Adele, that man still hasn’t left. It seems my granddaughter is also attracting admirers," the old lady said with a mischievous smile.

"He can wait as long as he likes; I’m not interested in him. Besides, given my current situation, I wouldn’t pursue anything with him even if I were interested. That wouldn’t be fair to him," Adele replied without looking up, continuing to scan her book.

"Should I go out and send him away?" James suggested with a faint smile.

Adele glanced up at him, then lowered her eyes back to her book, merely saying, "James, I never knew you had such a gossipy side!"

James chuckled softly. Everyone has a gossipy side.

Just then, Julia came out, grinning. Seeing everyone in the hall, she went over and sat beside the old lady, unable to wipe the smile from her face.

"Julia, you managed to escape?" The old lady’s question to Julia was even more teasing, her eyes twinkling with suggestive humor as she looked at her.

"Does Grandma want Glades to devour me, bone and all?" Julia retorted. Grandma is so sly! She must have realized Glades was jealous earlier when she patted my shoulder. I was so confused back then!

"HEH HEH, of course not," the old lady chuckled slyly, using her laughter to hide her true thoughts.

"So domineering, so petty! He gets jealous even if I say a few honest words. I’ve never seen such a jealous man. I shouldn’t have made him that Western breakfast this morning. I should’ve cooked him a huge pot of sour vinegar soup to drink!" Julia muttered, her smile unwavering. The memory of Glades’s jealous expression and his questions made it impossible for her to stop smiling.

"That just proves he’s very, very, very, very, truly, very..."

"Grandma, are you going to say ’very’ a thousand times, or ten thousand times, before you get to the point?" Julia laughed even harder, turning to give a teasing look to the old lady, who had strung together so many ’verys’. The old lady was trying to convey how much Glades loved her, and lacking better words, she resorted to repetition.

Adele also began to laugh, closing her childcare book.

While James laughed, he cast a deep look towards Julia. Now that Glades is back, I’ll have to start avoiding her again. I’ll retreat into the background, silently watching over and protecting her.

The image of another girl’s face briefly flickered in his mind—Rebecca Hughes—but it was a fleeting thought he paid little heed to.

These days, Rebecca would still come to the company to see him. This was despite him having made it clear that she wasn’t allowed into his office anymore. However, each time she came, he would still quietly allow her into his office. Once there, he couldn’t expect any peace, as that girl had an incredible knack for talking to herself; her mouth hardly ever stopped, always recounting all sorts of amusing tales.

"Julia, Glades is so jealous because he loves you so much," the old lady said with a laugh, finally getting to her point.

At that moment, Glades Horne emerged from the dining room, his handsome face stern.

When he came out, he first glanced at his beloved wife, then called out coldly, "Ying!"

Ying, hearing the call, quickly walked in.

"Young Master," he greeted.

Glades’s handsome face tensed further. He glanced outside and asked coldly, "Has that Walker fellow left yet?"

Ying was momentarily taken aback but, under Glades’s cold stare, quickly answered, "He’s still outside."

Everyone looked at Glades Horne, wondering what he would do next.

Julia worried that her praise for Flynn Walker might bring him trouble. She quickly stood up and went to Glades. Looping her arm through his, and with a coquettish, charming smile, she said, "Glades, just let him go. No violence, please."

Glades turned his head to look at her. Seeing her captivating smile, his expression softened considerably, but he still said coolly, "So, in your eyes, I’m just a man who resorts to violence?"
