Chapter 751: The End of the Long Journey of the Warrior who Gazes at the Horizon

At the summit of Tang Mountain, on the ancestral grounds of the Tang Clan.

"Mother, Father." Tang Yin approached Tang Ming, his father, and Tang Xiao Ying, his mother.

They were sitting, calmly watching the sect below them. Disciples were moving about. Their children were managing, while their grandchildren were practicing.

Tang Yin’s children could be seen playing around, while their mothers took them for walks in the mountains.

The view from the mountain was peaceful, and they could see other worlds in the distance.

"I heard you intend to retire," Tang Ming said, motioning for him to sit next to him.

Tang Yin smiled but did not respond immediately. He sat down and looked down.

There were so many things... the distant empires, the Wang Empire that was flourishing once again, the new sects under the command of the Tang Clan and the Celestial Tower... Everything was calm and developing in a sustained and controlled manner, without haste.

For the first time since his reincarnation, everything was going smoothly without the fear that something would go wrong. The tranquility could be smelled in the air... it was a tranquility fought for and won with destruction, but now that he was breathing it in, he felt that the pain of betrayal had been worth it to achieve these moments.

"My journey has not been as long as many of you believe," Tang Yin said suddenly, with a smile.

"Two thousand years... I have not genuinely lived that long, although in my mind there are too many years lived throughout many eras... I honestly do not remember them completely. They are not part of my experiences."

"The experiences I remember are my 30 years in this world and the less than 30 years I have lived since my death until now. Those are what define me."

"It’s really not much, is it?" Tang Yin laughed when he noticed the surprise in his father’s eyes and the pride in his mother’s.

If two thousand years had passed since then, his growth until now would have made sense, but barely three decades? How had he managed to grow so much?

"It’s so little that it doesn’t make sense for me to want to retire now, but I’ve achieved almost everything I want and desire in this life. I completed my revenge and finally appeared before you alive, I took a weight off your shoulders and also put you on the throne."

He remembered when he saw his father sitting on the throne in Tang Castle... he felt proud. His entire family returning to rule the plane was the revelation he needed to consider retirement.

Tang Ming sighed. "You have achieved more in your life than my clan has achieved in millions of years. So not only am I proud of you, but all our ancestors surely are too," he said. "But wasn’t it your desire to break the shackles of this world? To reach for the heights of the stars? To see how big the world beyond is..."

Tang Yin nodded and looked up. He stopped looking at the beauty of the world beneath his feet and gazed at the distant, but beautiful clear sky.

"As I grow older, I realize that many of the dreams I had as a child are not so necessary. Fulfilling many of them would not be because I need to do so or because it will change something about me, but rather because I am capricious and want to fulfill my own whims."

"Perhaps I should learn to be less capricious and focus on what is truly important," he replied.

"So...?"

"Although I still want to go there and discover the universe... right now it’s not necessary to do so. I have my children, my wives, my family is growing too much recently, if I decide to show myself to the world as I am now, I’m not sure I can protect them."

"My goal right now is for my family to grow up well. I don’t want my children to have to yearn to become strong so they can take revenge on someone who did something to their father or their family. I don’t want them to repeat what I’ve been through. So I want to see them grow up first, I want to see how they develop... Then I’ll think about what comes next."

"Then I’ll think about looking for that moon that I feel is calling me, far away... My little moon, which fought against death and also survived."

"But that will be later, in the future. Now I want to enjoy this peace that we have worked so hard to build."

Tang Ming nodded, slightly surprised by his son’s realization.

’Many of your dreams are just whims, eh.’ He smiled slightly. ’Even if you decide to be capricious, no one would say anything to you, and I think my grandchildren would grow up the same way.’ He couldn’t say his words, because he didn’t have the ability to allow his son to fulfill his whims.

In the end, Tang Ming fell silent.

"Yin’er... no one deserves a rest and to enjoy the peace you have achieved with your own hand and with the help of your wives more than you. Just as your father enjoyed the peace that his strength granted him for so long, you too must do so."

"Don’t worry about Clan matters or Tower affairs; your family and the duly elected leaders will take care of that. Focus on yourself, your cultivation, your children, and those on the way. I heard that Qingyue is expecting triplets," said Tang Yin’s mother with a slight smile.

She was not a woman who spoke often, but whenever she did, it brought peace to Tang Yin’s soul.

"Yes, I think they’ll be born next month. I’m a little nervous, since there are three of them," Tang Yin replied with a loving father’s smile.

"Bring her to the Clan, she’ll be well cared for here. Don’t make your master and all the nurses in charge travel so far to the Eternal Sea World, it could cause them inconvenience."

"Yes, mother. I’ll bring her once I return."

"All right, then go get her. Bring all my daughters-in-law and tell them they’re going to spend their vacation here while the babies are born."

Tang Yin nodded and got up to do as his mother said. "All right, Mother. I’ll be right back."

He turned and went back the way he came.

"He’s grown up."

"He certainly has." Tang Ming smiled.

"How does it feel to have your son retire before you?" Tang Xiao Ying asked.

"He’s not retiring before me." Tang Ming was sure of it. "He just wants to find his peace... I can assure you that, when you least expect it, he’ll be back in front of us, leading us to show us that world out there."

"How can you be so sure of that?" Xiao Ying looked at him. "I’ve seen him quite determined."

Tang Ming laughed. "Because I was also the most talented Young Master of the Tang Clan at the time, my dear lady." He stood up and held out his hand to his wife. "The music is about to start, the music of the evening. Would you grant me this dance, my dear lady? Let us enjoy the peace our son achieved... and then give his family the warmest of welcomes. He deserves a proper rest."

Xiao Ying took his hand and stood up. "Why don’t you go take care of the cockroaches that are still loose? You’ve been worried about them all month."

"I’ll step on the cockroaches soon enough. For now, let me enjoy the peace my son achieved... and let me mourn the fact that I couldn’t give him this peace. I have failed as a father."

Their figures began to move slowly and deliberately, while the distant sound of musical instruments reached them.

--

In the distance, Tang Yin smiled... he enjoyed the moment he had worked so hard to achieve, then looked up at the sky.

"The universe is vast. How many more stories like mine are happening simultaneously? How many worlds are falling at the hands of revenge, and how many more have emerged because of a good decision?"

His smile faded, as did his figure...

The world went from chaos to a peace that you could appreciate with every breath, a relaxing peace...

The End.

------

Author’s Final Words: Yes, this is the end of the novel. Although not the end of this universe.

It has been a long journey, dear readers... and I know that many (or all) of you have abandoned me along the way. It has nothing to do with you, it has been my fault. My poor time management and the many problems I have had in my life have made it increasingly difficult to focus on this and other stories.

I made too many mistakes in this novel. Once... twice... possibly three times, I said I was going to rewrite the first Chapters of the novel to fix those mistakes, but as I read, I found more mistakes.

I admit it, the mistakes I made were so many that they completely overwhelmed me.

I just thought: I’ll try to write a successful novel that will give me enough financial stability to focus on fixing those mistakes... but how wrong I was in my approach.

You know what? When I started writing this novel (my first novel), I wanted to make it as unique and different as possible (that’s why the first volume is so... weird), I wanted it to be great. But in the end, I didn’t measure up.

The same thing happened with all my novels. I tried to fight the tide, creating novels that didn’t follow the "trend," and, if they were, creating them in a very different way, but I failed in all my attempts.

I learned that fighting the tide is perhaps not the best option in the world of writing. Maybe I should focus on creating trending cliché novels; they would probably be more successful.

But anyway, let’s not focus on that; it embarrasses me.

I wanted to continue writing this novel; to tell the truth, I had planned about a thousand more Chapters, but I couldn’t do it. As I learned and improved in the way I see the world of writing and in my writing (although my English is still terrible), I realized that what I was doing with each new Chapter in this story was covering up past mistakes.

And that overwhelmed my mind and caused me to have consecutive writer’s blocks. In the end, that made it increasingly difficult to write, not just this novel, but all of them.

I thought about abandoning it, I genuinely did, but I didn’t want to either, since many readers accompanied me for many months, years, spending money to read this shitty novel with hundreds of mistakes, and if they ever come back to look for this novel, I want them to at least know that Tang Yin completed his revenge, which was the great conflict of this novel.

But I know there will be holes in the plot. I’m sorry, I’m honestly sorry.

I opened up too many storylines, I threw in too many characters, so many that I can’t even remember them all now. If it weren’t for the fact that two years ago I had the great idea of writing them down in a Word document, right now I wouldn’t even know their names.

And that is why this novel will end here. With only a fraction of the Chapters it could have had, but having fulfilled its revenge and its promise.

It may not be the best novel, but I am fond of it because it is my first, so if anyone gets this far, please leave a comment or something, I would really appreciate it.

Also, remember that my career as an author is just beginning. I promise that one day I will be a successful author, even if I have to leave my blood on this chair and my fingers on the keyboard.

I promise!

One last thing... There will be some "side stories" uploaded later to show you several things.

The encounter between Tang Yin and his "moon," whom you will surely remember, Qingyue, the "Star Reader."

Also, to show you who the "Mad Scientist" was, one of the most important characters in this universe, and what lies behind him. I remind you that he was responsible for creating "Cultivation" and also the "System," the same one that has changed the Eras in the Universe several times.

And a few other things, perhaps to try to create a sequel without so many mistakes and better, one that I have been planning since I imagined this universe, and whose current temporary name is "New Era of the Cultivation World" (not out yet).

Sincerely, thank you very much for reading, and I genuinely apologize for not living up to expectations. I hope you enjoyed reading it!
