Dr. Lei entered, gasping for breath. πŸπš›π•–πšŽπ•¨π—²π›πš—π¨π―πžπ•.πœπ—Όπ—Ί

Julia suddenly felt like laughing, but of course, she didn't dare. If she dared to laugh right now, Glades would surely settle accounts with her later. Seeing Glades Horne's worried and anxious expression, she felt her stomach pain lessen.

"Quick, check on Julia! Why does her stomach hurt?" Glades Horne growled, barely stopping himself from rushing over and dragging Dr. Lei to the bedside.

Dr. Lei sat on the edge of the bed, took Julia Bluen's pulse, and then asked her a few questions.

"Dr. Lei, how is she? Is Julia alright?" Mila Anderson and others crowded into Glades Horne's room, anxiously gathering around the bed.

"It's fine. The Young Madam is almost four months pregnant. This kind of short-term stomach pain is normal, so there's no need to worry. Does the Young Madam still feel any stomach pain now?" Seeing Julia Bluen shake her head, Dr. Lei continued, "It's alright, it's alright. Most pregnant women experience this; just rest a bit. If you're all still concerned, you can have the Young Madam get an ultrasound."

"Really? There's nothing wrong?" Glades Horne asked in a low tone, his gaze becoming unusually sharp as it fixed on Dr. Lei. If Dr. Lei dared to lie, he would twist off his head and use it as a stool.

"Glades, it's okay. I don't feel any pain anymore. It just hurt a bit earlier," Julia hurriedly soothed her husband, startled by his sharp gaze. She couldn't bear to see Dr. Lei turned into a hornet's nest under that stare.

"During pregnancy, occasional abdominal pain is normal," Mila Anderson pondered and added. She had experienced this phenomenon when she was young and pregnant with both of her children. It's just that when she had such pain, Gian Horne wasn't as nervous and worried as Glades Horne was.

After Dr. Lei repeatedly assured them that Julia was fine and Julia also kept saying her stomach no longer hurt, Glades Horne finally allowed Dr. Lei to leave. The others offered a few words of caution and then left as well.

Once it was just the two of them in the room, Glades Horne immediately lifted Julia Bluen from the bed and embraced her, growling, "You almost scared me to death!"

"I'm sorry; I got scared too. But I truly am fine now, really. It doesn't hurt anymore. It just hurt briefly earlier, and when you were carrying me and rushing back, I felt the pain ease," Julia replied, hugging him back.

"I still want to take you to the hospital for a checkup. Who knows if Dr. Lei, getting on in years, might misdiagnose." Glades Horne was still not at ease, as it concerned his beloved wife and daughterβ€”there was no room for negligence. He usually had the utmost faith in Dr. Lei's medical skills, but now he was the one suggesting a misdiagnosis. Luckily, Dr. Lei had already left. If the doctor had heard him, he would surely have to find an unimpeachable judge to plead his case.

"If Dr. Lei heard that, he would certainly be heartbroken to have his medical skills doubted by his employers like that," Julia playfully chided, raising her head in his embrace. "Glades, don't worry. I really am fine now."

Glades Horne helped her off the bed and straightened her clothes, saying, "Whether there's an issue or not, we'll get it checked out. That's the only way I can be at ease." He had said he would hire two Obstetricians as family doctors but hadn't hired them yet.

"I'm hungry," Julia said softly. She had been running around all morning and even had a tussle with that skirt-chaser Tobby Walker, which had used up a lot of her energy. Now, with her stomach empty, she felt particularly hungry and really wanted to eat something.

"Glades, I want to eat sour veggie and shredded pork noodles," Julia said, looking at Glades Horne with a slightly pitiable expression. She hadn't had noodles for a while. Before her pregnancy, she was a noodle fanatic and especially fond of them. However, since becoming pregnant, she had eaten them less due to morning sickness and changing appetites. Now that she could eat without vomiting, she suddenly craved noodles again. She particularly liked the taste of sour veggie and shredded pork noodles; she loved that sour taste, probably due to the appetite changes from her pregnancy.

"Julia, are you really okay? Does your stomach truly not hurt anymore?" Glades Horne asked. When he heard her mention hunger, his first instinct was to feed her immediately, especially since it was almost lunchtime. But a weight still lingered on his mind. Without a hospital ultrasound and a consultation from an authoritative Obstetrician, he found it hard to relax.

"It truly doesn't hurt anymore."

Glades Horne looked at her intently. Seeing that her complexion and eyes seemed normal, he felt slightly relieved. However, he then immediately took out his phone and dialed a number.

Once the call connected, he commanded in a low voice, "Mason Phillips, arrange for the most experienced Obstetrician and an ultrasound technician to come here. Remember to bring an ultrasound machineβ€”I want a color Doppler. Where? To my house, of course! Make it quick, don't dally. I'll pay whatever it costs!"

"Fine, I'll arrange it right away. Don't talk to me about money; your money is too precious, I wouldn't dare accept it." Mason Phillips was the Dean of the hospital where Glades Horne had previously taken Adele for an abortion and was also one of Glades's friends.

"I expect them to arrive as soon as possible." At the end, Glades Horne emphasized this again.

"You're always like this, as if my people are solely at your beck and call! Fine, give me twenty minutes. In twenty minutes, I'll ensure my team is there," Mason Phillips said before hanging up.

Julia didn't hear Mason Phillips's words, but she heard everything Glades Horne said clearly.

This man, so concerned about her yet reluctant to let her go hungry, always knew how to find a solution that covered all bases. His circle of friends was indeed wide-ranging and diverse in every sense. No wonder he was so formidable, capable of causing storms in T City's business world with just a flick of his fingers. Of course, she was the most formidable one because she had married him! Hehe.

Thinking of this, Julia smiled to herself.

As she turned her head, Glades Horne was captivated by her smile. He asked in a deep, indulgent voice, "What are you laughing about? You seem so happy."

"I'm happy thinking that I can eat sour veggie and shredded pork noodles," Julia answered cunningly, not revealing that her happiness actually stemmed from being married to him.

"You noodle addict. If people didn't know any better, they might think the great Horne family is mistreating you, the Young Madam," Glades Horne teased as he took her hand. No matter how many times he had held it, he still loved holding her hand. Her hands were soft, delicate, and slender. People say a woman whose hands are naturally so is destined for a life of luxury.
