Actually, he preferred this feeling. It always reminded him of that sweetest saying, "To hold your hand and grow old with you."

"Everyone has a food they particularly love to eat. I'm no exception; it's just that I like to eat plain noodles, not lobster or shark fin," she said. This was the most discernible difference between her and the other affluent young women around her. Others pursued a high-end material life; people of a certain status always favored exotic delicacies, believing such foods befitted their stature. She, however, sought nothing more than an ordinary life, avoiding any impression of superiority.

"Easy to raise," Glades Horne quipped with a playful smile.

"See? You've married a good wife—easy to raise! Three meals of noodles a day will do the trick. Look how much money I'm saving you," Julia bantered back.

Glades chuckled softly, squeezing her hand tighter. "But I don't want you to save money for me like that." If dragon meat really existed, he would want to carve a piece for her.

Noodles were a rarity on the Horne Family's menu, excluding the servants' meals. The couple whispered and laughed softly as they descended the stairs.

Aunt Mei stepped out of the main hall just as dinner was announced. Seeing the couple descending the stairs, she hurried over, asking with concern, "Madam Julia, are you feeling better? Why didn't you rest a bit longer? I could have brought your meal up to you."

Julia quickly smiled. "No need to trouble yourself, Aunt Mei, I'm fine." She gently pulled her hand from Glades's grasp and walked over to the others, reassuring them with a smile not to worry; she was fine and her stomach no longer hurt at all.

Seeing her complexion had indeed recovered, everyone felt somewhat relieved. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Adele Horne was the most frightened. Julia had gotten angry, acted roughly, and even exerted herself—all for her sake. If anything happened to Julia or the baby, and her big brother investigated and learned the cause, he might severely blame her. No, it was highly probable he would take his anger out on their mother. Looking at her mother, Adele felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. She too was now on the path to motherhood. The days of pregnancy were difficult, especially with her severe morning sickness; it felt as if the child was there to torment her. Yet, women are born with maternal love, and this profound love made her cherish the fetus in her womb. She could understand and empathize with her mother now. It was just that her mother hadn't heeded her repeated insistence that she didn't want to marry yet, which led to today's events. She had only agreed to the blind date because she didn't want to see her mother worried.

"Aunt Mei, Madam Julia wants pickled cabbage and shredded pork noodles. Please make a bowl for her quickly. Add more pork and less pickled cabbage," Glades instructed.

"No, add more pickled cabbage! I like the taste of pickled cabbage," Julia countered, her order the exact opposite.

"Do as I said!" Glades looked at Julia, his deep eyes conveying a demand for her compliance in this matter. He could indulge her in anything else, but not when it concerned her health. It was normal for pregnant women to crave pickled cabbage, but it lacked nutritional value. Eating too much would only make her hungry again sooner. More pork and less pickled cabbage meant she wouldn't feel hungry as quickly.

Meeting his insistent gaze, Julia blinked her almond-shaped eyes helplessly. Alright, considering he doted on her to the heavens, she would concede this time.

Seeing Julia didn't press the issue, Aunt Mei turned and left to prepare the noodles. The Young Master and Young Madam had a way of balancing each other out. He could gently guide her, and she, in turn, knew how to manage him. Everyone then made their way into the dining room to eat.

Ruby Bluen also returned, pushing Marcel Horne in his wheelchair. Neither of them knew about Julia's earlier stomach ache. Julia didn't want to worry her sister, so she said nothing, and the others shared her sentiment.

「Fifteen minutes later.」

The best Obstetrician and the ultrasound technician, sent by Mason Phillips from his hospital, raced to the Horne Family villa in an ambulance, its siren blaring the entire way. Glades Horne had requested the doctors arrive as quickly as possible. Mason Phillips's hospital was at least a half-hour drive from the Horne Family estate, assuming clear roads. To arrive in the shortest possible time, they had to take an ambulance. Its siren wailed continuously, clearing traffic and giving the impression they were rushing to save a critically ill patient. They managed to reach the Horne estate in under twenty minutes.

The Obstetrician, dispatched urgently by the Dean, arrived at the Horne residence. The moment the ambulance stopped, she threw open the door, jumped out, and hurried towards the Main House. She assumed something critical had happened to Madam Julia; the Dean had sent her so urgently without explaining the details, only mentioning that Madam Julia and her unborn baby might be in distress. The ultrasound technician also followed hastily, pushing the equipment.

Glades Horne himself was preparing to open a hospital. However, establishing a hospital wasn't as simple as opening a regular store; it couldn't be done on a whim. First, he needed to secure a location, then navigate various certifications, and finally recruit skilled doctors from across the country. He estimated that the Horne Family Hospital might be operational by the time Julia was due to give birth.

That would be ideal, he thought. His beloved wife could then safely deliver their daughter on his own turf. Subconsciously, both he and Julia felt their baby would be a girl, even though Dr. Lei had said the baby was a boy, using the euphemism that the baby "was standing while peeing."

Julia had just finished the pickled cabbage and shredded pork noodles Aunt Mei had cooked for her. Since it had been a while since she'd last had them, she ate with great relish, even drinking the last drop of broth, yet she still looked as if she hadn't had quite enough.

Watching her expression of being satisfied yet not quite, Glades Horne couldn't help but chuckle. She, at times, truly gave him a very special feeling. Ordinary, yet possessing an understated nobility; noble, yet imbued with an approachable ordinariness. She was like a rich, mellow wine that grew more flavorful with each sip. He was utterly, hopelessly in love with her.

The two medical professionals hurried in. Glades Horne, having been informed of their arrival, stepped out to meet them.

"You're Mr. Horne, correct?" the Obstetrician recognized Glades Horne at a glance. She lowered her mask slightly and asked, her eyes already scanning the room for Julia Bluen, "Where is your wife? How is she now? I need to examine her immediately."

Glades Horne turned his head and instructed Rainbow, the servant behind him, "Rainbow, ask Madam Julia to come out." Then, he calmly sat down on the sofa. Observing his composed demeanor, the Obstetrician inferred that if Julia Bluen were in serious trouble, he wouldn't be so calm. His composure helped to settle the two doctors as well.

Everyone, alerted by the commotion, came out. Julia, who had overheard Glades on the phone, was surprised at how quickly they had arrived.

Seeing Julia emerge, Glades Horne stood up, went to her side, and, supporting her, began to lead her upstairs. "Please examine my wife in our room," he instructed. With so many people in the hall, he wouldn't be foolish enough to have the doctors examine Julia there. The two medical staff then worked together to push the ultrasound machine upstairs.

The arrival of the ambulance had, of course, also alerted Dr. Lei. Aware of Glades Horne's inherent anxiety regarding Julia, Dr. Lei felt no displeasure, nor did he perceive it as a lack of trust. Instead, he saw Glades as an exceptionally meticulous man who deeply loved his wife. Even the slightest hint of discomfort had to be thoroughly investigated to ensure Julia's complete well-being.

「A few minutes later.」

The findings of the two newly arrived medical staff matched Dr. Lei's assessment.

"They've all said there's nothing wrong. Do you believe it now?" Julia whispered, playfully raising an eyebrow at Glades Horne. "Honestly, sometimes you make such a big deal out of nothing."

Glades Horne didn't respond. He had his reasons.

"Mr. Horne, Madam Julia is fine," the Obstetrician reported. "The baby is healthy and developing normally, and Madam Julia's physical condition is also good. Occasional, minor abdominal pain without any bleeding is quite normal during pregnancy. Just ensure Madam Julia maintains a good balance of work and rest."

Glades Horne remained silent, but he etched every word of the doctor's advice into his heart.
