Chapter 572: Chapter 575: Disgusting Drama, Enough is Enough

Raina Bell carefully placed some food onto Thomas Shannon’s plate, aiming to create an intimate atmosphere.

Sophie Sullivan glanced over and scoffed, "He doesn’t eat onions."

The frost on the man’s face showed signs of thawing.

Did she remember his dietary restrictions?

An embarrassed flush spread over Raina Bell’s face. She genuinely hadn’t known that Thomas Shannon didn’t eat onions.

A closer look confirmed it: the dish she had just placed on Thomas Shannon’s plate did indeed contain onions...

"Young Master..." Raina Bell’s voice was tinged with a slight whimper.

SLAP!

Sophie Sullivan slammed her chopsticks on the tabletop. She looked up. "I’m trying to eat. Are you deliberately trying to ruin it with your sniveling?"

Raina Bell flinched and cautiously turned her head to look at Thomas Shannon beside her.

"If you ruin my appetite any further, I won’t be so polite," Sophie Sullivan warned, then picked up her chopsticks and resumed eating.

She couldn’t be bothered to look at Raina Bell’s lovelorn gaze again.

Disgusting! Utterly revolting! Trying to have dinner and being forced to watch this nauseating display—it’s just too much!

Raina Bell lowered her head and ate silently. After a moment, she began speaking to Thomas Shannon in a soft voice again.

Sophie Sullivan hastily ate until she was about half-full, then put down her chopsticks and rose from the table.

As she was leaving the dining room, she collided head-on with Harry, who was rushing in.

MEOW!

Harry, chubby and round, was sent tumbling backward, somersaulting twice before stopping.

He let out two fierce yowls, then lifted his head. Seeing Sophie Sullivan, his big, round eyes stared at her for a moment before he pounced, rubbing against her legs.

"Go away! You’re as annoying as your master." Sophie Sullivan, her face full of disdain, nudged Harry away with her foot.

Harry whimpered pitifully. Nudged away by Sophie Sullivan, he undeterredly pounced on her again. He seemed determined to get hugs, kisses, and to be lifted high.

"You’re so annoying! Seriously, you’re a pain!" Despite her exasperated expression, Sophie Sullivan bent down and scooped the little pest into her arms.

Satisfied, Harry rubbed his furry little head against her neck.

Holding Harry, Sophie Sullivan stopped a servant. "Where is Old Mr. Stanford?" she asked.

"Dr. Stanford was in surgery in the medical office. It should be over by now."

"Understood." Sophie Sullivan nodded and, still holding Harry, headed towards the medical office.

Old Mr. Stanford was badly injured. I hope he recovers soon.

「Medical Office.」

George Stanford had already been moved by nurses from the operating room to a patient room.

The anesthesia hadn’t worn off yet, so he was still unconscious, with two nurses attending to him.

Sophie Sullivan entered the room and saw George Stanford’s injured face. His hand, visible outside the thin quilt, was also wrapped in gauze.

A wave of guilt washed over her. If it weren’t for her, Old Mr. Stanford wouldn’t have suffered like this...

"What did the doctor say?"

The nurse replied, "Dr. Stanford has three broken ribs, a fractured finger, and multiple soft tissue contusions of varying degrees. Overall, he’s suffered a great deal."

From that simple statement, Sophie Sullivan could imagine just how much Old Mr. Stanford had endured.

She held Harry. Perhaps sensing the turmoil of her emotions, the usually restless cat in her arms grew quiet.

"When will Old Mr. Stanford wake up?"

"Dr. Stanford will wake up once the anesthesia wears off."

Sophie Sullivan pulled over a chair and sat down. "I’ll wait here."

She didn’t know when the anesthesia would wear off, so she decided to wait right there.

She owed Old Mr. Stanford an apology.

「In the Dining Room.」

After Sophie Sullivan left, Thomas Shannon also put down his chopsticks.
