Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 571 - 574: Did I come at the wrong time?
"Minimus Hart, on what grounds do you say that to me?"
Minimus Hart kept a smile on her face. "Of course, in my capacity as the Young Master’s subordinate."
"Subordinate?"
Sophie Sullivan looked as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. She leaned closer to Minimus Hart, who discreetly stepped back.
Sophie stared at her, emphasizing each word. "Minimus Hart, only Charlie River is worthy of the title ’subordinate.’ You are just a female slave for men’s amusement. Don’t think too highly of yourself."
Sophie had hit a nerve. A flicker of embarrassment crossed Minimus Hart’s eyes, gone in an instant.
Her expression turned cold as she said impassively, "This is the Young Master’s order. Do you intend to disobey him?"
"Don’t try to use Thomas Shannon to pressure me, Minimus Hart. Don’t think I don’t know what you truly are. One day, I will make you wish you were dead."
Sophie scoffed disdainfully, bumped Minimus Hart’s shoulder, and went downstairs, heading towards the restaurant.
Minimus Hart stood on the staircase, turned, and watched Sophie’s arrogant retreating figure.
She sneered inwardly. Wishing for death, huh? 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Maniac, since you’ve declared war first, I’ll make sure you die before I do!
Before even stepping into the restaurant, Sophie heard Raina Bell’s voice.
Guessing the scene that awaited her inside, Sophie merely gave a silent, cold smirk.
She fearlessly entered the restaurant.
In the palace-style restaurant, Thomas Shannon sat at the head of the long dining table. Beside him sat Raina Bell, her head wrapped in thick gauze.
The two were having dinner together, the scene indescribably harmonious.
Raina Bell spoke in a soft, delicate voice, like a demure young wife. The smile at the corners of her mouth was as sweet as if she had fallen into a honey pot.
She exuded happiness and joy.
The man beside her, Thomas Shannon, had a faint smile playing on his lips. He would occasionally respond to her words, eliciting coquettish giggles from Raina.
"Have I come at a bad time?" Sophie arrived at the dining table, chose a seat further away, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
Resting her chin in one hand, she watched Thomas Shannon and Raina Bell—whose smile had stiffened slightly—with great interest. "My apologies for interrupting your candlelit dinner. But what could I do? Minimus Hart insisted I come in, so I had to brazenly show up."
Raina Bell carefully glanced at the man beside her. Seeing that Thomas Shannon remained expressionless and didn’t even spare Sophie a glance, she finally relaxed.
Secretly sighing in relief, Raina Bell continued to eat with her head down, not sparing Sophie a single glance the entire time.
She wouldn’t speak out of turn, much less acknowledge Sophie.
She knew very well that a direct confrontation with the maniac would gain her nothing.
Sophie watched the pair, who hadn’t paused their meal in the slightest, and sneered. Looking at the nearby servants and maids, she said, "What are you standing around for? Get me a set of tableware."
The female servants simultaneously looked towards Thomas Shannon, who was seated at the head of the table.
Trying to gauge his intentions, no one dared to act rashly.
Thomas Shannon gave an almost imperceptible nod. The maids breathed a collective sigh of relief, quickly went to the kitchen to fetch a set of tableware, and placed it before Sophie.
Sophie helped herself to a bowl of soup and began to drink.
Raina Bell lifted her eyes and glanced at Sophie. Seeing her eating with such composure, completely unaffected, Raina couldn’t help but feel a surge of indignation.
She certainly knows how to keep her composure.
But it doesn’t matter. She’s just putting on a brave face.
The Young Master’s heart is no longer with her. Her arrogance won’t last much longer.
Plenty of suffering awaits her in the future.
"Young Master, this is your favorite."
