Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 528 - 531: There’s Nothing I Can Do if You’re Being Unreasonable
"Take him away and teach him a lesson!"
Charlie River solemnly replied, "Yes, Young Master."
Charlie River stepped forward, pulling up the butler kneeling on the ground, and said in a cold voice, "Let’s go, Butler."
The butler nodded shakily and followed him out.
The dining room was finally quiet.
The maidservants and maids on either side lowered their heads, daring not to breathe too loudly.
Thomas Shannon personally ladled a bowl of soup and placed it in front of her. "Have some soup."
"I have no appetite."
With her arms crossed over her chest, Sophie Sullivan looked indifferent. He couldn’t possibly think that acting a little nice now would make her simply forget how he’d wronged her earlier.
Thomas Shannon put his soup spoon down and turned to look at her, his deep, cold eyes tinged with specks of amusement.
Dark and profound, yet startlingly clear and bright.
Sophie squinted slightly. She had never seen any pair of eyes more captivating than Thomas Shannon’s alluring ones.
His features were as exquisite as a painting; he was truly one of God’s favored creations.
Thomas Shannon hooked her chin with one hand. "Are you trying to cause trouble, hmm?"
"Think whatever you like. If you insist on being unreasonable, I can’t help it."
Thomas Shannon: "..."
Unreasonable?
She was the first woman who dared to talk to him like this!
What a spoiled temper!
Thomas Shannon let go of her, then turned around and picked up his soup spoon to continue his soup.
After finishing his soup, he picked up his chopsticks. His slim fingers with their distinct joints, even the way he held the chopsticks, were infuriatingly attractive!
Sophie averted her gaze, feeling a bit stifled.
A tender piece of fish was brought to her lips. "Try it."
"I won’t eat!"
As she opened her mouth to speak, Thomas Shannon quickly stuffed the fish into her mouth. He chuckled softly as he watched her eyes widen and her cheeks puff out while she glared at him.
Sophie lowered her head, about to spit it out, but her tongue had just touched the tender fish.
A wonderful taste spread through her mouth...
She hesitated.
To spit or to swallow—that was a question of saving face.
Thomas Shannon said with a smile playing on his lips, "Swallow it."
GULP.
As if guided by some unseen force, Sophie actually swallowed it.
Her gaze met Thomas Shannon’s smiling eyes. Since she had taken the first bite, it would be pointless to keep being difficult.
She cast aside her reservations. "Meatball," she demanded.
Thomas Shannon picked up a meatball with his chopsticks and gave it to her. Sophie was still unsatisfied. "Blow on it. Are you trying to scald me to death?" 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
The servants and maids looked over cautiously, only to see Thomas Shannon indeed bring the meatball to his thin lips and gently blow on it twice, just as she’d said.
"It’s not hot anymore. Eat it."
Only then did Sophie stretch her head forward and gently take a bite.
The springy meatball successfully whetted her appetite.
While ordering Thomas Shannon to feed her, Sophie cast a sidelong glance at him. "So, you suspected I was the one who hurt Raina Bell?"
Thomas Shannon remained silent.
Sophie sneered, swallowed the food in her mouth, picked up her water cup, took a sip, and then said, "What a joke. If I really wanted to deal with her, why would I resort to underhanded tricks? I’d have confronted her openly."
Thomas Shannon fed her a spoonful of egg custard. "Open your mouth."
Sophie huffed indignantly. With her mouth still full, she blurted out, "I, Su—"
Realizing what she’d almost said, Sophie Sullivan quickly composed herself and retorted with feigned indignation, "Am I that kind of person? No matter how cowardly you think I am, would I do something and then not dare to admit it?"
Thomas Shannon put down his chopsticks and propped his head on his hand, looking at her with leisurely amusement. "What did you say just now?"
"Say what?"
"Those first two words," Thomas Shannon kindly reminded her.
Sophie shot him a glare.
