Chapter 499: Chapter 502: You Don’t Mind That I’ve Drank From This?

Sophie Sullivan believed in him, of course. However, she was more concerned about him collapsing from exhaustion. He had carried her for so long; how much energy had he expended? If he didn’t rest soon, he might really collapse.

"Put me down. I’ll walk with you," Sophie insisted.

Unable to sway her, Thomas Shannon put her down and held her hand firmly. "Follow me."

After walking for a long time, Sophie wondered if her vision was playing tricks on her. She looked ahead, suddenly pointing at a spot. "Thomas Shannon," she said, "look! Isn’t that a bottle of water over there?"

Thomas Shannon followed the direction of her finger. Indeed, it was a bottle of purified water.

The same brand they had been drinking.

It was most likely the water they had lost last night.

Upon receiving Thomas’s affirmative nod, Sophie pulled her hand free and ran over, stumbling slightly.

Picking up the bottle of purified water, half-buried in the sand, she exclaimed excitedly, "It really is our water!"

From a distance, watching her excitedly clutching the bottle of water and grinning foolishly, Thomas Shannon couldn’t help but smile.

He approached her, took the water, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to her.

Sophie pushed the water back to him, her beautiful, hazy eyes twinkling with a smile. "You drink first. You’re so tired."

Thomas Shannon raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You don’t mind that I’ve drunk from it?"

Sophie mumbled, "When I tell you to drink, just drink. No more nonsense."

They had already kissed; would she really mind drinking water he had touched?

Thomas Shannon noticed her change. He simply smiled without saying a word, obediently took the water, and started to drink.

After a few sips, he lowered the bottle and handed it to her.

Sophie took the water, drank a few sips, and then screwed the cap back on.

Water was precious now; they had to cherish this bottle.

"Let’s search some more. We might find other food..."

Using their current spot as a center point, they began to expand their search radius.

It had to be said, Sophie seemed to be naturally blessed with luck.

Before long, she excitedly waved to Thomas Shannon. "Thomas, I found some self-heating food!"

Thomas Shannon chuckled softly. "That’s great."

Sophie dug out a few packs of self-heating food from the sand. Cradling them in her arms, she ran gleefully towards him.

She tilted her head up, her face bright with a wide smile. "Look, this will be enough for us until tomorrow!"

Thomas Shannon raised his hand and caressed her cheek. "Mm."

Sophie handed him all the food she was holding and turned to search again.

Watching her busy little figure, she rather resembled a diligent little wife.

Watching her back, Thomas Shannon shook his head and chuckled to himself. What should have been his work had been snatched up by her. This left Young Master Shannon feeling quite unaccomplished.

"Thomas Shannon!" Not far away, Sophie’s excited voice rang out again. "I found two bottles of water!"

Thomas Shannon responded with a smile. He hadn’t found anything, while she, on the other hand, seemed to find things with unfailing accuracy. Was her luck almost too good to be true?

Holding the two bottles of water, Sophie searched all around but made no further discoveries.

She ran back to Thomas Shannon with the two bottles, panting lightly. He took the water she was holding and looked down at her. "Tired?"

"I’m fine, not too tired."

Compared to him carrying her for so long, what she had done was nothing.

"Drink some water first to rehydrate," Thomas Shannon reminded her. "You’ve sweated quite a bit running around."

Sophie unscrewed the cap and took a few sips. Her body finally felt a little more comfortable.
