Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 483 - 485: I Must Hold You
"Hmm?" Thomas Shannon lowered the cigarette in his hand, flicked off the ash, then inclined his head, leaning closer to her.
Sophie Sullivan raised an arm, looped it around his neck, and standing on her tiptoes, whispered in his ear, "You’re trying to seduce me."
Thomas Shannon’s whole body stiffened. Then, he let out a low, deep laugh, a touch of disbelief in his voice as he asked, "What did you just say?"
Sophie huffed. As if I’d repeat that obediently!
Releasing his neck, Sophie pouted. Men are so seductive...
Thomas Shannon was overjoyed. Holding his cigarette in one hand and Sophie’s slender waist in the other, he pressed her against him. He lowered his head, his magnetic voice tinged with laughter. "Tell me, what did you just say?"
"I said, Thomas Shannon, you’re so annoying."
"Annoying?" Thomas Shannon lowered his head and gently bit her red lips. "When we were on the bed, that’s not what you said."
Sophie: "..."
What a beast! Such a huge rascal! If he, Thomas Shannon, claims to be second, absolutely no one would dare claim to be first.
Releasing Sophie, Thomas Shannon took her hand and led her towards a camel resting on the ground not far away.
An Arabian handler stood with the camel. Sophie glanced at its tall hump with some trepidation.
"Afraid?" Thomas Shannon chuckled softly, his tone teasing.
Sophie’s rebellious streak emerged. She snorted coldly, "I’m not afraid."
She let go of Thomas Shannon’s hand and, refusing any help, climbed onto the camel’s back herself.
Luckily, the saddle was soft, so sitting on it wasn’t too uncomfortable.
Clutching the camel’s hump with one hand, Sophie turned her head to look at Thomas Shannon, her voice filled with excitement. "Let’s get going!"
Thomas Shannon nodded and swiftly mounted the camel.
With one person, there was plenty of space. With two people, however, their bodies were immediately pressed close. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Her spine pressed tightly against his firm chest. The weather was hot, and his body temperature felt even hotter.
The scorching heat from him, through the thin fabric of their clothes, penetrated deep into her skin.
Sophie instinctively leaned forward, trying to put some distance between them.
However, Thomas Shannon noticed her subtle attempt. He casually wrapped an arm around her waist, effortlessly pulling her leaning body back into his embrace.
Sophie struggled. "Thomas Shannon, what are you doing!"
"The camel is about to move. For safety, I have to hold you."
"I don’t need you to hold me; I can manage myself."
"I mean, for *my* safety, I have to hold you."
Sophie: "..." So, he’s treating me as a safety armrest?
Once everyone in the group was on their camels, Charlie River asked, "Young Master, can we set off now?"
Thomas Shannon’s hand was on Sophie’s slender waist. He caressed it suggestively a couple of times, a smirk playing on his lips as he nodded. "Let’s go."
At a gesture from one of the Arabians, the camels kneeling on the ground immediately rose.
Sophie, startled by the sudden movement as the camel stood, cried out softly.
Then, she was suddenly pulled into a tight embrace, and the man’s deep voice sounded by her ear, "Don’t be afraid."
The camel rising caused only a moment of lurching, just a few seconds of unsteadiness.
Then, the camel began to walk steadily into the desert.
Sophie deliberately ignored the scorching heat of the man’s body behind her. Before her, all she could see was an endless expanse of yellow sand.
Between heaven and earth, there were only vast, empty sand dunes.
The scorching sun beat down on the desert, heat rising in visible waves from the sand. Gusts of hot wind buffeted them, making it difficult to breathe.
