Chapter 264: Chapter 258 Sharing a Bed Together (Part 2)

This action warmed Ji Anning’s eyes, and she pushed her mother’s hand back, her voice tinged with a nasal sound, "Mom, don’t be like this, even if we’re just talking about a meal, I have my own money, you keep it for yourself."

For so many years, her parents had no income of their own and relied entirely on help from the Ji Family. This little bit of money was also saved by her mother from living frugally.

Looking at the small house, Ji Anning’s heart was indescribably sour.

She had left this home at the age of six and had never formally returned. Her feelings for this home and for her parents had also become increasingly distant, but out of sight, out of mind, once seen

"Hmm." Her mother nodded, "Then Mom is leaving."

Ji Anning raised her hand and waved at her, "Be careful on your way."

Ji Anning stood at the door, making sure her mother had gone downstairs and out of the building before she went back into the house.

Still not at ease, she went into the kitchen, peeked out of the window, and only when she saw her mother walking away did she feel relieved.

Then she turned around, teeth clenched, and stormed out of the kitchen, facing the still nonchalant Ji Chicheng, "Uncle Chicheng, why did you suddenly show up without telling me in advance?"

Her tone was reproachful, but her voice was still subdued, betraying her guilt.

She walked over to Ji Chicheng, pouting and looking at him dissatisfied. The first thing that came to her mind when she heard her mother say he had come was just two words: It’s over.

After running out and seeing him sitting there so composed, she was filled with a mix of love and hate.

Of course, the love was still love, and the hate was also love.

"I came to say hi, I’m leaving this afternoon." Ji Chicheng was not at all bothered by Ji Anning’s complaints, calmly placing down the water cup, slowly lifting his head to look at her.

Dizzy!

Ji Anning frowned speechlessly, "A phone call would have done the job."

He had gone out of his way to come here and scare her half to death.

"You don’t want to see me?" Ji Chicheng raised an eyebrow, a dangerous gleam flashing in his eyes.

Anning realized what he was going to do and hastily retreated, but Chicheng’s tall figure had already risen and was closing in.

In the small living room, she hadn’t stepped back far before her back was against the wall. Chicheng approached, his toes pushing firmly against hers, not giving her a chance to hesitate or dodge. He suddenly bent down, his face coming close to Anning’s.

His lips barely touched her slightly upturned red lips.

The heat of his breath halted Anning’s heartbeat. She held her breath, staring wide-eyed, her gaze glittering as she looked at him.

"You really want me to kiss you, don’t you?" Chicheng suddenly smiled, his breath carrying a hint of mint fragrance lingering by Anning’s nose.

Anning’s cheeks flushed red in an instant.

She lowered her head, too shy to even deny or explain, while internally crying out in aggrievance... she really hadn’t thought that way.

"Quick, go change your clothes, we’re going out to eat."

Chicheng straightened up suddenly, his hands casually tucked into his trouser pockets, then turned around and sat back down on that old wooden chair.

The whole process was done without dawdling.

Anning frowned, disdainfully glancing at Chicheng, feeling a slight dissatisfaction at his effortless composure.

At the same time, she reproached herself, wondering if she was too unreserved, too easily... moved.

Always casually led by him.

After Chicheng sat down, he glanced at Anning, who stood there with her head down, silent, and leisurely said, "I told you, your body still doesn’t allow you to think too much."

Thinking of it as something so complicated again, Anning let go of her embarrassment and defiantly lifted her head, "I wasn’t thinking about that kind of thing at all."
