Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 263 - 257 Sharing a Bed Together (Part 1)
"Jingfeng"...
What, uncle is here?
Ji Anning was momentarily stunned, then, like rising from the dead, she abruptly sat up, paused for half a second, flung off the quilt, got out of bed, and, barefoot, hurriedly ran out, passing by her mother like a gust of wind.
Seeing her in such a desperate rush, her mother, not knowing what had happened, became anxious, "Jiajia, what’s wrong?"
Ji Anning didn’t rush to answer her mother. She dashed out of the room and instantly saw the man sitting on an old wooden chair. She stared with her mouth agape, shocked, surprised, and terrified.
The man, unsurprised by her reaction, held a transparent glass cup with his pale, beautiful hands, looking at her with a half-smile, "Anning."
His voice, as always, was pleasant, as calm and unrippled as his expression.
"Mom!" Ji Anning finally reacted. She didn’t have time to consider why Ji Chicheng had come without notice and turned to look at her confused mother, "Mom, why didn’t you go to see dad today?"
The most important thing now was to send her mother away so she could speak to him properly.
"I was making your lunch," her mother replied, pointing towards the kitchen.
"No need," Ji Anning waved her hand, walked over, and grabbed her mother’s arm. While speaking, she pulled her towards the door, "I’ll make it myself later, you go see dad first."
Her mother was reluctant to leave. She looked at Ji Chicheng and said to Ji Anning, "Your uncle is here, I’ll make a few more dishes, let’s have lunch here."
It was a plain act of politeness.
Ji Anning felt so weary. She frowned and said, "Really no need, my uncle is quite picky about food, please don’t bother."
"You child, how can you speak about your uncle like that?" Li Fen frowned at Ji Anning and scolded her, "You’re not sensible at all."
Seeing her mother’s serious and stern face, Ji Anning was annoyed. She opened her mouth to say something but didn’t know how to explain, so she turned her gaze back to Ji Chicheng, giving him a meaningful look.
Why doesn’t he just say something instead of sitting there like a statue?
When Ji Chicheng saw Ji Anning making faces at him, he calmly smirked after a while. His gaze slowly shifting to Li Fen, he spoke with an indifferent expression and a lukewarm tone, "I just came to pass a message to Anning, I won’t be eating here."
Upon hearing this, Li Fen casually asked, "Was it Anning’s grandfather who sent the message?"
A flicker of unease showed in her eyes.
Ji Chicheng wasn’t one for pleasantries, and Ji Anning worried he might lose patience and make things awkward.
She hurriedly pushed her mother toward the door, "Mom, go to dad first, I’ll handle things with uncle and then come join you."
Finally managing to get her to the door, her mother, hurried by Ji Anning, had no choice but to change her shoes.
As she was about to leave, she carefully glanced back into the room, then grabbed Ji Anning’s hand, pulled her out the door, and into a corner to carefully ask her, "You didn’t do something wrong at the Ji family’s place, did you?"
Ji Anning realized she had made her intent to send her away too obvious, and she quickly shook her head, "No, don’t think too much."
Despite her mother’s concerns, she didn’t press further given her daughter’s attitude.
"Jiajia, here’s some money. Since your uncle isn’t eating at home, take him out somewhere nice."
While speaking, she pulled out a stack of bills ranging from one to a hundred from her pocket, extracted all the one hundred bills, and handed them to Ji Anning.
