Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 476 - 454: Conflict
Mina Thorne’s face darkened slightly as she looked coldly at Sienna Thornton sitting across from her.
Just at that moment, Sienna glanced up, and their eyes met and then shifted away coldly. Sienna looked back at her Kindle and asked calmly, "Could you not play that out loud and disturb others?"
Seth Sutton’s gaze left his phone, shifted to her, and he gave an ambiguous smile. After turning off the speakerphone, he sat up straight, looked earnestly at Sienna, and asked with a smile, "Have you watched these short videos of yourself?"
Sienna didn’t respond, treating him as if he were invisible.
Seth seemed slightly defeated, but he didn’t show any anger. He smiled as he slumped back and continued to watch short videos, playing them loudly as if to deliberately provoke Sienna.
"Turn the speaker off!"
A man’s deep and assertive command hit Sienna’s eardrums. She looked up at Simon Forrester, seeing his clenched jaw and tense expression as he glared at Seth.
Sienna got a start and quickly tugged at his arm, "Let’s go for a walk outside."
Simon didn’t move, his cold gaze fixed on Seth.
Seth’s face fell too, and he sat up straight, provocatively asking, "Why should I turn it off just because you say so? Is this your house?"
Simon gritted his teeth, "This isn’t my house, but you’re not the only one here!"
Sienna quickly got up to pull him away, "Let’s go! Let’s go outside!"
Simon didn’t budge.
Seth rolled up his sleeves and walked over from across the room.
Seeing things escalating, Sienna used all her strength to pull Simon, "Get up quickly!"
Simon stood up, but it wasn’t to leave.
Seth quickly approached and grabbed Simon’s collar darkly, "Acting like a big shot at home, are we? You think this is your Forrester Family? Who do you think you are to order me to turn off the speaker?"
Sienna: "..."
She didn’t know where Seth’s aggression came from, as Simon clearly hadn’t provoked him. If a real conflict arose, Seth, being a trained detective, would surely have the upper hand against Simon.
Seeing the situation unfavorable for Simon, Sienna quickly went inside to call for Quentin Thorne and Old Mrs. Thorne. When the three rushed out, Simon and Seth were already fighting.
Seth threw a punch at Simon, which Simon expertly dodged. Simon had the chance to retaliate but only defended himself, making no offensive moves against Seth.
"Enough!" Quentin abruptly shouted, stepping forward to separate Seth and Simon.
He turned to Seth, asking, "What’s wrong with you? Why are you hitting him?"
Seth panted, "He’s too arrogant!" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Rubbish!" Quentin roared in anger, "Just because he’s arrogant, you think you can hit him?"
The loudness of his voice made Sienna’s heart race. She quickly pulled Simon behind her and said to Quentin, "Dad, let’s go for a walk outside first. You should educate that person! He’s insane!"
With that, she glared at Seth, grabbed her and Simon’s coats, and pulled Simon away.
In the yard, the sun had already set, and it was quite cold. Sienna tightened her coat and pulled Simon to sit on the swing. She held his face in her hands to examine it carefully and asked, "Did he hit you?"
"No."
Sienna, still fuming, glanced angrily at the front door, "Is that person crazy? Can’t control his actions!"
Simon sneered, "He’s sharp, no mental issues. That’s why I didn’t fight back just now."
His words contained a lot of information, leaving Sienna slightly confused. She sat beside him and asked, "What do you mean?"
Simon chuckled, hugged her, and pushed off the ground with his foot, making the swing sway with considerable momentum.
This sudden lift off the ground made Sienna shriek with laughter.
The topic was buried in her laughter.
Meanwhile, Seth was called to the study by Quentin.
Quentin’s sharp eyes behind the glasses seemed to strip away all of Seth’s pretenses.
Seth squirmed under his gaze and said flippantly, "Uncle Thorne, if you keep looking at me like that, I’ll think you’ve fallen for me."
Quentin almost spat blood in anger at his words. He looked seriously at Seth, pondering whether he should ask the question.
If he asked, there would probably be no turning back. But turning a blind eye, could this matter have a dignified ending?
Quentin was thoroughly fed up and had never imagined his family would get involved in such a matter.
Recalling the night Seth said he wanted to reconcile with Mina in the Thorne family living room, Quentin had a headache seeing the way Seth looked at Sienna.
Only a man understands what that look means.
.
The two sat in silence for a while. Quentin told Seth to reflect, but it was unclear whether Seth was genuinely reflecting, as he lay sprawled on the sofa, occasionally fiddling with his bird’s nest-like hair.
Seeing Seth’s carefree demeanor, Quentin suddenly figured it out and said, "Break up with Mina. I don’t approve of you two!"
Seth smiled, moved his gaze from his phone to Quentin, and asked, "Break up with Mina, then what?"
"Then never see each other again!"
Seth looked back at his phone, his thumbs tapping away as he said, "Fine, I have no objections to breaking up. You just need to deal with her mindset."
Originally, he didn’t plan to break up, but it seems he was bothered by Mina again after reconciling, and now he wants to break up again.
The two had broken up and gotten back together countless times over the years, never really succeeding. Quentin couldn’t be sure if it would work this time, but he still gave a final reminder, "Remember! Once you break up, no contact at all! Otherwise, I’ll have to speak with your parents!"
Seth was straightforward, "Sure! No problem! I’ll tell her tonight."
After saying this, he quickly left the study, leaving Quentin alone to ponder for a long time.
.
Sienna and Simon were still on the swing in the garden when they suddenly saw Seth leave the house. Sienna thought he was coming to provoke Simon again and quickly jumped off the swing, protectively placing herself in front of Simon.
But Seth didn’t come over; he just gave them a meaningful look and left. As soon as he left, Mina chased after him and didn’t come back, possibly leaving together.
Sienna tugged Simon’s hand, "What are they up to?"
Simon watched them leave, contemplating something, and after a few seconds, said faintly, "Probably having an argument."
He didn’t elaborate, took Sienna’s hand, and said, "Come on, let’s go inside."
.
After dinner and chatting with the elders for a while, Simon and Sienna returned to Melinda’s place, while Quentin went back to his villa.
Driving into the yard and seeing the house in complete darkness, Quentin let out a long sigh.
Ian Grant was definitely not there. She had been staying at the Grant Family for several days, and Quentin had no intention of picking her up. But the problem was, Quentin didn’t expect that Mina hadn’t come home either.
She had run out with Seth in the afternoon without a single phone call. During dinner, when he tried to call her, it was rejected.
Quentin was a bit worried.
He went inside, planning to give Mina a call later. But when he turned on the light, he saw Mina’s boots neatly placed there, though her slippers were gone.
Quentin breathed a sigh of relief, changed into his slippers, and went upstairs to find Mina.
"Mina, are you asleep?" he knocked, "If not, let’s talk for a bit..."
