Chapter 449: Chapter 427: Ecstatic Birthday

Simon Forrester smiled, lowering his eyes to gaze at her. From her beautiful brows and eyes, down to her delicate collarbone, he looked, and finally back to her eyes, looking at her deeply, he whispered: "Do you think I need it?"

These words were spoken with confidence, with absolutely no exaggeration, and Sienna Thornton knew he was telling the truth.

Sienna Thornton laughed and lightly patted his arm. The two of them were leaning so close that their lips were almost touching each other’s ears.

Among the colleagues, except for three or four older ones with families, the rest were single, seeing them show their affection, shouted, "That’s too much!"

Sienna Thornton felt a bit embarrassed, bit her lip and sat up straight.

Simon Forrester’s hand was around her waist, the man’s warm, dry palm resting on her lower back, giving comfort to her slightly sore spine after sitting all day.

During the meal, everyone had a couple more drinks, and two or three colleagues joked about how Sienna Thornton managed to bring her fiancé along on a business trip. She felt a bit embarrassed and said Simon Forrester was here for work, staying at the same hotel for convenience.

That word "convenience" was wonderfully used, Simon Forrester smiled without saying a word, his hand wandering on her lower back. Seeing her discomfort, he tactfully changed the subject, steering the conversation towards himself.

He started talking about the culture and customs of Valois, his demeanor warm and humble, without being overly enthusiastic or condescending. He was able to engage dozens of people without making anyone feel neglected.

Sienna Thornton sat beside him, listening, and realized that not only was he skilled at socializing, but he also had a strong grasp on the topics discussed. Throughout the entire conversation, he never revealed any personal information or unnecessary opinions, yet everyone was happy talking with him.

The seafood feast was coming to an end when someone finally remembered to ask Simon Forrester, "What line of work are you in, Mr. Forrester?"

Simon Forrester smiled lightly: "We deal with various things, including the export of fasteners."

He really was a minor manager in a factory.

Everyone hesitated to speak, eventually said nothing, and looked at Sienna Thornton with a hint of pity.

.

Since there was a second round of negotiations tomorrow, everyone was cautious not to drink too much or stay out too late. Although they enjoyed talking with Simon Forrester, they ended the dinner and returned to the hotel around ten o’clock.

The elevator arrived at the standard room floors, and the group of subordinates exited, leaving Sienna Thornton and the negotiation delegates, who were staying in high-floor lake view rooms, to continue ascending.

With others still in the elevator, Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton stood quietly, refraining from intimate words in front of others. Although they deliberately avoided intimate movements, Simon Forrester’s hand remained around Sienna Thornton’s waist, a strong display of possessiveness.

After getting off the elevator, and saying goodbye to the negotiation delegates, Simon Forrester wrapped his arm around Sienna Thornton as they headed back to her room.

Sienna Thornton, having had a few glasses of wine, felt a bit exuberant. As soon as she closed the door, she jumped onto Simon Forrester, clinging to him like a koala, refusing to let go.

Simon Forrester then held her body with both hands, kissing her as he walked towards the sofa. Upon reaching it, he gently patted her back, saying, "Come on down, get ready to shower and sleep."

"Carry me there." She rubbed her face against his shoulder with her eyes closed, smudging her foundation on his dark suit, but she didn’t notice.

He couldn’t help but laugh. He carried her, fetched them both clean clothes, and prepared the bathroom...

-

On Thursday afternoon, the final round of bilateral negotiations ended, and the WTO Dispute Settlement Body announced that the results of this consultation would be available next Wednesday.

Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester decided to head home on Friday. Some colleagues, who had visited Valois several times, also decided to return on Friday, while those visiting for the first time chose to take the opportunity to travel around Alpenberg and neighboring countries before returning.

And this Thursday happened to be Simon Forrester’s birthday.

Seeing Sienna Thornton busy with work and under pressure, he didn’t specifically mention it, since birthdays come every year and it’s not a big deal.

He and Sienna Thornton went to their usual nearby restaurant for dinner. During the meal, Sienna Thornton didn’t mention anything about his birthday either. But when they returned to the hotel, upon opening the door, they found a small fruit cake, about four inches, set on the coffee table.

In just a second, Simon Forrester knew that Sienna Thornton actually remembered his birthday. He didn’t bring it up, changed into his slippers, leisurely went to the luggage rack to get clothes for a shower. Then, as he passed by the coffee table, he pretended to be annoyed, saying, "Didn’t we just eat? Why order cake?"

Sienna Thornton, being straightforward, thought he really forgot it was his birthday today, and exclaimed, "Today’s your birthday! You forgot?"

Simon Forrester feigned surprise: "Is it? So today’s my birthday!"

His expression was exaggerated, deliberately widening his eyes in faux surprise, and even with Sienna’s straightforwardness, she could tell he was pretending.

She approached and playfully punched his chest, "Keep pretending, and there’ll be none left next year!"

He then dropped the exaggerated expression, wrapped his arms around her waist, lifted her up, and kissed her with a laugh.

"I’m not really into cakes, I’m more interested in the presents," he said.

Sienna Thornton laughed, tugging his ear, and whispered a few words. Within seconds, he went from merely smiling to overwhelming joy.

He didn’t even bother with the cake, thrilled, spinning Sienna around in circles.

...

Valois was already deep into the night, and everyone, after a busy day, was at rest.

This small town in Central Europe was never bustling, and at night, it was even more peaceful.

In a certain lake view room at the InterContinental Hotel, a soft night light was still on.

The woman held onto the man’s waist, her voice gentle: "Actually, I’ve always remembered your birthday, ever since we went to Norport three years ago and you celebrated your birthday there. I’ve remembered since then."

The man smiled, one hand gently stroking her smooth shoulder, the other pinching her sharp chin, asking dominantly, "Was it then you started thinking about me?"

She smiled: "With your birthday on Singles’ Day, how hard could it be to remember?"

Simon Forrester’s birthday was indeed on November 11th.

He laughed with confidence: "Remembering isn’t hard, but it takes heart to think of it every year on this day."

Sienna Thornton playfully stuck out her cute little tongue, smiling as she buried her face in his neck, drawing circles with her fingers on his shoulder: "You are my man, of course, my mind is full of you, what’s a birthday?"

She even knew when his aunt visited him.

Seeing Simon Forrester’s smug face, she added, "Actually, I’ve prepared your gift long ago, and you’ll see it as soon as we return the day after tomorrow!"

Hearing this, he indeed grew curious about what her mysterious other gift could be.

In fact, she had already given him a big gift tonight, and with that, all other gifts paled in comparison.
