Chapter 181: Chapter 179: That Person

The two of them had a light dinner at the hotel’s buffet restaurant and took a taxi to Victoria Harbour.

Victoria Harbour is in Kowloon, while the hotel is on Aethel Isle. Though you can see Victoria Harbour across from the hotel room, to actually get there, you have to cross the sea, which takes over half an hour by taxi.

Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton left the hotel lobby and quickly hailed a taxi.

Sienna got in first, followed by Simon, who shut the door.

The driver didn’t know they were from the mainland and asked in Cantonese, "Where to?"

Sienna replied in Cantonese, "Victoria Harbour, Silverport."

Simon raised an eyebrow and teased, "Your Cantonese is pretty fluent."

Sienna chuckled, "Not too bad. I’m pretty fluent in Brimfield dialect too, aren’t I?" She deliberately added a regional twang.

Simon also laughed, pulling her into his arm, tapping her moist, rosy lips, and said, "Showing off now? How about you give me a taste of your hometown dialect."

Sienna pushed him away, playfully saying, "Not gonna, no way!"

The word "no" was pronounced with a third tone, and "way" was emphasized.

Simon was stunned, "What does that mean?"

Sienna said, "You want me to break it down for you? It makes no sense!"

Simon: "..."

Sienna glanced at him sideways, "Don’t you get it now?"

Simon: "..."

Sienna said, "That’s why I say you get all riled up! Need to be put in your place! What a ball!"

The word "ball" was said with unusual force and depth.

Simon was completely bewildered, unable to understand a word of what she was saying but guessing from her annoyed and fierce expression that it was probably nothing good.

After pondering for a while, he hesitated and said, "So, in the future, if we quarrel and you get angry and curse me in your hometown dialect, won’t I just be like a dummy, understanding nothing and not able to counter anything?"

Sienna burst out laughing, "I hadn’t thought of it that way, but you’ve given me an idea."

Simon fell silent, his cheeks tensing as he contemplated learning Wrayhaven dialect whenever he had the time.

When they got out of the taxi, it was quarter past seven.

Sienna pulled Simon along to buy tickets for the night cruise and then returned to the pier to wait for the boarding time at 7:30.

At that time, the sea breeze was gentle, lifting Sienna’s long hair that hung down her back and puffing up the T-shirt tucked into her shorts.

Simon wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his embrace, and asked, "Are you cold?"

Sienna sniffed with her nose, "Actually, a little bit."

After waiting for a while, the boat arrived, and the lining tourists boarded one after another.

Simon held Sienna’s hand and found two seats on the deck. After waiting for a bit longer, the boat set sail.

The boat offered unlimited beer, soft drinks, and snacks. Simon ordered two beers, giving one to Sienna.

The boat slowly sailed away from the Silverport pier, heading towards the left of the dock.

During the golden autumn, when it’s neither hot nor cold, cruising on Victoria Harbour is the most delightful and pleasant thing to do.

At eight o’clock sharp, the Symphony of Lights laser show began. The boat was stationed near Central District for a close-up view of the light show.

Countless brilliant light beams burst forth from the opposite shore, intertwined with laser beams that swayed and flickered, soaring and dancing.

Sienna circled her arms around Simon’s waist, snuggling into his embrace, her eyes sparkling as she observed the magnificent scene in front of her, her emotions surging within.

Simon also wrapped his arm around her.

The light show, lasting less than fifteen minutes, ended quickly.

The boat circled Victoria Harbour, preparing to return, with the glittering high-rises of Central District visible along the way.

Simon, holding Sienna, chuckled, "Central District is reluctant to light up; Lujiazui’s night scene beats it by a mile. Why did you want to see this?"

Sienna shifted her arms, "I wanted to bring you to see it." After speaking, she raised her face to look at him, her clear pupils reflecting the brilliance of the light show, "But you must have seen it before, haven’t you?"

Simon shook his head, "Never seen it. What’s so great about the lights?"

Sienna’s affectionate thoughts were instantly choked back by his words. She turned her face away, pointing to a high-rise in Central District, and said, "I interned in Central District before."

Simon replied with a nod, "Barrister or Solicitor?"

Sienna: "Barrister."

Simon: "I thought you specialized in international law; you’d be going in the Solicitor direction."

Sienna: "The internship for Solicitors is two years. I wanted to go back to Braden University for my master’s sooner. At the time, I didn’t plan on being a lawyer in Azure Harbor, so it didn’t matter if it was Barrister or Solicitor."

Simon thought that made sense, but recalling that most Hong Kong barristers are men, he asked, "Was the barrister who took you for the internship a man or a woman?"

Sienna didn’t hesitate: "A woman."

After speaking, she held Simon’s waist again, looked up at him, and said, "I plan on visiting her the day before I leave; would you like to come with me?"

"Sure."

After the cruise, they walked to Jadeston Road to buy marinated snacks, instant noodles, beer, and red wine.

They both slept until evening, so they figured they wouldn’t be able to sleep until midnight. Instead of straining their eyes on their phones, they might as well have a drink.

Back at the hotel, Sienna went to shower first. When she came out, the room was dimly lit with only the floor lamp on, casting a warm and dusky glow. A night snack was set up on the coffee table, with a few bottles of beer beneath it and an opened bottle of red wine along with two crystal-clear wine glasses on top.

She dried her hair, walked over to take a look.

Simon was sitting in the office chair, facing the floor-to-ceiling window, one hand resting on the armrest, the other lightly placed on his lips, frowning in thought. On the table, a phone was speakerphone-enabled, occasionally emitting Jack Hawthorne’s angry outburst.

Sienna walked over and gestured to blow dry her hair first.

He stood up immediately, took his phone, and accompanied her into the bathroom, picking up the hairdryer to help dry her hair.

The phone was placed on the sink, with the conference call continuing...

After finishing her hair, Sienna changed into comfortable loungewear and sat cross-legged on the sofa, pouring red wine into two wine glasses.

Simon grabbed some clothes, went into the bathroom to shower, and took his phone with him.

Sienna glanced over, wondering how he managed to join a meeting and shower at the same time. What if he needed to speak midway through the shower?

Outside the floor-to-ceiling window, Victoria Harbour’s night view sparkled brightly, with towering skyscrapers and gently swaying ships.

Sienna drank her wine, losing herself in the view across the harbor, recalling the hurried departure back to Brimfield.

She truly missed him too much then, so she returned to Brimfield for him, altering another life’s possibility for him.

She also once decided that if he did not welcome her, if he regretted having her, she would leave Brimfield to fulfill his peace.

But now, could she still leave Brimfield?

At least, not until Simon leaves her, she wouldn’t be able to leave Brimfield...
