Chapter 228: Chapter 228: Return to Universe Continent, Triggering the Heavenly Tribulation

Johnnie arrived at the Spiritual Stone mine.

Selene, Helios, and the others were still there, and without the supervision of the Red Carp and Benz, it was clear they were up to something.

"My lord." The two of them looked a little flustered when they saw Johnnie appear and hurried forward to greet him.

Johnnie simply nodded coldly and said, "I’ve already refined this space. You can now enter the Universe Continent. How you choose to develop from here is up to you."

"Leave this place?" Helios frowned, obviously reluctant. This space was rich in resources, and the Spiritual Stones here were especially valuable for his progress as a Formation Master.

"My lord, we’ll do as you say," Selene agreed without hesitation.

She had already witnessed Johnnie’s terrifying power, and realized it wasn’t worth it to cross him.

With a thought, Johnnie teleported Selene, Helios, and all the miner slaves out of the area.

Now that this space had merged, they were sent directly into the Universe Continent.

These people were no match for Johnnie, but as long as they kept a low profile in the Universe Continent, survival wouldn’t be a problem.

"My lord, those guys could have kept helping us mine Spiritual Stones. Isn’t it a bit of a waste to just let them go?" Benz asked with a hint of regret.

Johnnie didn’t care about those people at all, and replied, "There’s no need. Plus, we still have the Mechanical Golems. That’s more than enough to mine Spiritual Stones."

Now that he had become the mechanical overlord, he could easily control the Mechanical Golems.

Not only that, but the God-Creating Space in the Mecha Divine City could not only create Domains, but also Mechanical Golems.

As long as he obtained a Domain corpse, he could produce a mechanical Domain in a month, although these mechanical Domains required a consciousness to operate them.

Creating a Mechanical Golem was even easier. He could make one in a single day. Although they weren’t very strong, they were perfectly suited for mining Spiritual Stones.

"I’m heading back to the Universe Continent. Are you all coming with me?" Johnnie turned to ask Maiev and the others.

At this point, the power suppression in the Universe Continent should have disappeared, so there was no longer any issue for Domains to descend.

"My lord, I’ll leave with you," Benz spoke up immediately. He’d been stuck here for too long and wanted to see what Johnnie’s world was like.

"Master, I’ll stay," Maiev shook her head. Compared to the outside world, she much preferred to remain inside the Map of Heaven and Earth.

Johnnie nodded in response, then took Benz, the Dark Golden Golem, and the Red Carp. With a thought, he left the area.

Buzz!

Space power rippled, and Johnnie reappeared in the Mechanical City of the Dark Forest.

Finally, he was back!

He breathed a sigh of relief as he took in the familiar atmosphere around him.

Beep beep...

The beeping sound kept going.

A series of private messages popped up.

They were all from the girls and Dylan’s group.

Boom boom...

Booming sounds thundered inside Johnnie before he even had a chance to check them.

A terrifying power surged within him, and even the seals Skye and the White Spirit Tiger had placed on his bloodline began to loosen.

Attribute fusion had begun!

Johnnie realized what was happening, his brow furrowing, his expression growing tense.

Back in the Mecha Divine Nation, he had refined a massive number of Energy Cores and slain over a dozen mechanical Domains, raising his four basic attributes to over 2.1 million.

Now, as his stats fused with those from the Universe Continent, his attribute values skyrocketed, with constitution and agility reaching over 2.7 million, and strength and spiritual attributes breaking past 3 million.

Boom boom boom...

Suddenly, thunder rumbled overhead, dark clouds gathering and an overwhelming pressure filling the air.

It was a heavenly tribulation!

"What’s going on? I didn’t trigger a heavenly tribulation!" The Red Carp frowned, glancing up at the roiling dark clouds above.

Johnnie frowned as well, a little uncertain. "I think it’s because of me."

A tribulation for becoming a god should only be triggered when one reached the peak of stage 9.

But his cultivation was only at the peak of stage 5, so why was a heavenly tribulation appearing now?

"What?" The Red Carp cried out, disbelief etched on her face. "Master, did your overall stats surpass the legendary peak of stage 9?"

Johnnie nodded, still puzzled. "Could it be that surpassing the stage 9 legendary peak in attributes will trigger the heavenly tribulation early?"

The four basic attributes of a stage 9 legendary peak powerhouse were around 2.7 million, and his basic stats had already surpassed that.

If he survived the heavenly tribulation and became a Domain now, would his power soar even higher?

Johnnie stared up at the swirling clouds above, completely unafraid. He could feel that his strength was enough to withstand the heavenly tribulation.

"Master, don’t trigger the heavenly tribulation now!" At this moment, Maiev’s voice echoed in his mind.

Johnnie was startled, quickly suppressing his aura, and the clouds gathering in the sky slowly dispersed.

He asked in his mind, "What’s wrong, Maiev? I’m confident I could handle the heavenly tribulation."

Maiev’s voice replied, "Master, the later you trigger the tribulation, the better. In fact, many truly gifted geniuses break through to stage 10 or even higher before attempting the godhood tribulation."

"Stage 10?" Johnnie asked in confusion. "I thought stage 9 was the peak?"

Maiev explained, "No. Stage 9 is only the peak for ordinary powerhouses. They can’t break through to stage 10, so they attempt the tribulation there. But the truly exceptional can reach stage 10 or higher and only then face the heavenly tribulation. Those who do this can fight far beyond their level after becoming a Domain. Master, your talent is extraordinary—you can definitely break into stage 10."

"Is that so?" Johnnie didn’t really see himself as a genius. Most of his abilities came from his Lucky Master profession.

But even if he couldn’t reach stage 10, once he hit the peak of stage 9, his stats would soar even higher.

Maiev continued, "And as for the Red Carp, don’t let her trigger the heavenly tribulation just yet either. Her true form is now the Dragon Patterned Sword, so she can grow alongside the sword and reach stage 10."

"Alright." Johnnie nodded in agreement.

He opened his private messages, ready to let the girls know he was safe, when a cold mechanical voice interrupted him.

"Human, you’re still alive?" It was the City Lord of the Mechanical City.

"That’s impossible! How did you escape from the mechanical overlord?" it asked in disbelief.

Johnnie scoffed, replying coldly, "Mechanical overlord? He’s already dead."

"Nonsense! The overlord is an immortal existence," the Mechanical City Lord retorted. Its voice was icy. "Since you escaped, let me test out my new weapon on you."

As soon as it finished speaking, dozens of cannons extended from the Mechanical City, transforming it into a massive Mechanical Fortress.

Boom!

With a thunderous roar, a shell shot out at blinding speed—so fast that Johnnie couldn’t even react.

-1000000

A damage number flashed above Johnnie’s head as the impact blasted him backward.

One million damage!

Was that a railgun?

Boom! Boom!

The cannons fired again, shells howling through the air.

Johnnie didn’t dare get careless and immediately used his blink skill.

Buzz!

Spatial power rippled, and Johnnie’s figure vanished in an instant.

"Spatial skills!" the Mechanical City Lord exclaimed in surprise.

The railguns were powerful, but without homing capabilities, spatial movement countered them perfectly.

"Hmph, I’d like to see how many times you can use that," the City Lord’s cold voice echoed. It knew spatial movement consumed a lot of energy, and Johnnie couldn’t keep it up forever.

Johnnie was unfazed. With a Spiritual attribute over three million and Mana points at thirty million, he could blink all day if he wanted.

"My lord, let me handle this!" Benz roared, raising his giant axe and swinging it at an incoming shell.

"Watch out—"

Boom!

Before Johnnie could finish, Benz was blown away, taking the same one million damage.

Benz’s stats were similar to Johnnie’s, so the damage wasn’t a big deal. As long as he didn’t get hit by a barrage of shells, he’d be fine.

But this seemed to be fixed damage that ignored defense!

Johnnie was a bit surprised. He wondered if even a Domain’s divine power could block it.

"Maiev, give it a shot!" Johnnie called Maiev out on a whim.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Several railgun shells screamed toward her.

-1000000

-1000000

...

Multiple damage numbers flashed above Maiev’s head. She frowned and said, "Master, it’s no use. This is a special attack that ignores the rules of this world—even divine power can’t block it."

"Well, that’s an unexpected bonus!" Johnnie was delighted. A million damage wasn’t much for a divine powerhouse, but what if a hundred, a thousand, or even ten thousand railguns fired at once? Not even a Domain could withstand that!

He looked at the cannons, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "I’ll be taking this city for myself."

"Arrogant fool. You think you’re a mechanical overlord? None of you are leaving here alive today." The Mechanical City Lord’s cold voice echoed as more than a dozen railguns locked on to Maiev.

It clearly realized Maiev was the biggest threat among them.

"Heh, funny you say that, because I actually am a mechanical overlord!" Johnnie said playfully, unleashing his powerful consciousness to envelop the entire city.

Controlling mechanical weapons was one of the signature abilities of a mechanical overlord.

Buzz...

The railguns charging up suddenly powered down, falling silent as if they’d lost all energy.

"What’s going on?" The City Lord sounded confused. Suddenly, it realized it had lost control over the railguns.

Not only that, but its grip on the entire Mechanical City was being stripped away bit by bit.

"N-no way!" Its voice trembled in disbelief. "You—you really became the mechanical overlord? How is that possible?"

"Get lost!" Johnnie shouted furiously. He’d completely taken over the city, but destroying the Mechanical City Lord itself was still impossible.

That thing was just a form of consciousness. Unless he forced it to attach to the Mechanical City and used Seven Sword’s instant kill effect, he couldn’t finish it off for good.

But Johnnie was worried that doing so would destroy the city.

The Mechanical City Lord panicked. Terrified, it bolted from the area without a second thought.

As long as its consciousness remained, it could never truly die. Plus, this was hardly the only Mechanical Race in the Universe Continent. Sooner or later, it could join another group and have its revenge.
