Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Skye’s Quest, The God-Burial Realm

"Benz." Johnnie called out to Benz for help again.

Benz was totally caught up in the spectacle, waving his arms excitedly, and looking at Skye with nothing but admiration—he didn’t respond at all.

Johnnie wanted nothing more than to tear the guy to pieces.

He turned instead to the Red Carp.

But before he could say a word, the Red Carp immediately transformed into the Dragon Patterned Sword and stabbed itself into the ground.

Johnnie felt the urge to curse out loud.

"Master, you’d better ask Lord Aureon for help. Only Lord Aureon can stop Skye here." Coco’s voice came through; she couldn’t stand watching anymore, afraid Johnnie might actually get beaten to death.

Aureon, the Human Emperor!

Johnnie’s eyes lit up—he’d almost forgotten there was another powerhouse here.

"Your Majesty, save me!" he shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Hmph, even if Aureon showed up today, he couldn’t save you," Skye said angrily, not pausing his assault for a second.

"All right, that’s enough. Even if you beat him to death, you’re not getting your shield back," Aureon the Human Emperor’s voice came through.

Skye ignored him and snapped, "Aureon, stay out of this! I need to let off some steam today!"

Aureon continued, "There’s no need. Don’t you have another quest? Let him help you, as compensation for losing your shield."

Huh?

Skye hesitated, and his attacks came to a stop.

Johnnie crashed to the ground, his head swollen like a pig’s, just like Benz.

"Master, are you okay?" Maiev and the others rushed to his side, all concern on their faces—but they couldn’t hide the laughter in their eyes.

Johnnie shot them all a fierce glare.

"Ahem, ahem." Maiev coughed awkwardly, then said eagerly, "Master, let me heal you."

She raised her hand and cast a powerful healing spell—Johnnie’s wounds vanished instantly, and his face returned to normal.

Bang!

Johnnie lifted his foot and kicked Benz away.

"Ow!"

Benz yelped, landing flat on the ground. He looked up in confusion and said, "Sir, why’d you kick me? If you’ve got the guts..."

He glanced at Skye nearby and didn’t dare finish the sentence.

"Hmph, you were the most excited one just now!" Johnnie snapped at him.

Benz scratched his head sheepishly, grinning, "Sir, I just couldn’t help myself."

"Kid." Skye’s cold voice rang out. "If you help me get my head back, I’ll forget you lost my shield. If not, every time you enter the Mountains and Rivers Realm, I’ll beat you up."

[Ding! You’ve triggered a unique hidden quest: Retrieve Skye’s Head. Quest reward: none. Accept?]

A quest prompt popped up.

Finding Skye’s head—this was clearly no easy task.

According to myth, Skye’s head was cut off by Aureon and sealed on Eternal Sheep Mountain.

But myths are never the whole truth.

Johnnie frowned. "Senior, this is a quest. Isn’t it a bit much to give no reward at all?"

"You lost my shield and you’ve got the nerve to ask for a reward?" Skye roared, clearly itching to hit him again.

Johnnie instinctively took a step back, forcing a sheepish smile. "Senior, how about this—I finish the quest and find your shield, then you give me the reward for this quest too?"

"Deal. If you get the shield back, you’ll get every last reward for this quest." Skye agreed without hesitation, though he didn’t seem to have much hope.

To be honest, even he wouldn’t dare enter the spatial turbulence. If you get lost in there, you’re pretty much done for.

"I accept the quest."

Johnnie finally chose to accept, then asked, "Senior, do you know where your head is?"

Skye replied flatly, "Land of Confusion. I don’t know the exact location."

Land of Confusion again.

Johnnie frowned a bit. Looks like there are a lot of secrets—and a lot of benefits—in the Land of Confusion.

Once things here were settled, he’d have to pay the Land of Confusion a visit.

There were Map of Heaven and Earth fragments in the Land of Confusion, as well as treasures to unlock his third class, and now Skye’s head was sealed there too.

Buzz...

Spatial energy rippled, and the space of the Mecha Divine Nation began to merge bit by bit into the Map of Heaven and Earth.

"Master, did you just comprehend the Law of Machinery?" At this moment, Coco’s voice came through.

Johnnie nodded his head.

"Master, this is the core of the Mechanical City. If you refine it, you can become the new mechanical overlord. It would be a real shame if I destroyed this city," Coco said, and as her words fell, a crystal ball came flying through the air.

Johnnie reached out and caught it, curiosity lighting up his face as he examined it.

Inside the transparent crystal ball was a tiny city—a miniature version of the Mechanical City itself.

[Mechanical City Core: Can be refined by someone who has mastered the Law of Machinery, allowing them to become the mechanical overlord.]

Sure enough, it could be refined.

Johnnie was thrilled. He didn’t know exactly what the Mechanical City could do, but if Coco valued it this much, it had to be something special.

He sat down cross-legged on the spot and began refining the crystal ball.

Maiev and the others stood silently off to the side, doing their best to keep their distance from Skye.

They could sense that Skye’s anger hadn’t abated at all, and they didn’t want to risk provoking him again.

[Ding! You have refined the Mechanical City Core and become the new mechanical overlord.]

The system prompt rang out—Johnnie had successfully refined the crystal and now controlled the entire Mechanical City.

"Wow, it really can create gods!" he realized as he learned about the city’s true purpose.

The God-Creating Space contained hundreds of Domain-level corpses, all connected by intricate machinery. On the other side was a massive pile of Spiritual Stones.

These bodies absorbed the energy from the Spiritual Stones, transforming into mechanical Domains—but they needed a consciousness to operate.

Johnnie had already learned how to separate consciousness, but the process required Spiritual Stones and mechanical talent.

Luckily, there was a huge Spiritual Stone mine right here, so the stones weren’t a problem.

Plus, he still had plenty of mechanical talent stones in his possession.

He’d already split off a piece of his own consciousness once, so he couldn’t do it again.

However, he could help Crysic and the other girls split their consciousnesses and control mechanical Domains.

With mechanical Domains for protection, the girls—and the Montemar Empire—would be much safer.

Now that Johnnie had fused this space, it was time to leave.

He wondered how things were going back at the Montemar Empire.

[Ding! The Map of Heaven and Earth has been upgraded. Four basic attributes +10,000. The God-Burial Realm is now open.]

Another system prompt appeared—Coco had finished merging the Mecha Divine Nation’s space, making the Map of Heaven and Earth even more powerful.

Johnnie’s four basic attributes instantly increased by ten thousand points—this wasn’t just some equipment bonus, either.

And this was only from merging a single fragment. How powerful would the Map of Heaven and Earth be if he managed to fully restore it?

"Coco, what exactly is this God-Burial Realm?" Johnnie asked, his curiosity piqued.

Coco explained, "It’s the same area you entered before, Master. Now the outer mists have dissipated, and the power restrictions are gone. But if you want to go deeper, you’ll need to continue upgrading the Map of Heaven and Earth."

That fog-covered realm?

Johnnie’s eyes lit up. With the Divine and Demon Fishing Rod, Maiev had fished out quite a few treasures from there recently.

Witch Clan and Demon Clan bloodlines, attribute Spiritual Stones, even divine artifacts—though all of them were broken and unusable.

There had to be a lot more good stuff inside.

"Let’s go in and have a look." Johnnie immediately stepped into that unknown space.

Sure enough, the mist had cleared, and now he could enter without losing any Health Points.

Maiev and the others, curious as well, followed him inside.

"Is this a graveyard?" Johnnie looked around, stunned.

All around, scattered tombs could be seen, many of them already broken open, revealing corpses frozen in ice.

Coco’s voice came through again, "Master, most of these frozen god and demon corpses can’t be restored anymore, but their power remains. You can freely refine and absorb it."

"Really?" Johnnie’s eyes lit up—he could feel that these frozen corpses were incredibly powerful.

He summoned the Void Sword and slashed at one of the frozen bodies in front of him.

Bang!

With a booming sound, Johnnie was knocked backward, his hands aching from the impact.

"That’s tough as nails!" He stepped up to the corpse, but the ice was completely unscathed—not even a mark left behind.

It seemed like he couldn’t damage the hard ice here at all.

"Hmph!" With a cold grunt, Skye’s icy voice echoed, "Kid, serves you right. If you hadn’t lost my shield, you’d be able to shatter this ice easily."

Johnnie felt awkward and said, "Come on, don’t you still have the Skybreaker Axe? Lend it to me for a bit."

"Don’t even think about laying a finger on my weapons. Figure it out yourself." Skye shot him a wary look, then vanished with a flicker deeper into the God-Burial Realm.

Apparently, both Skye and Aureon had been buried in this God-Burial Realm as Domains, though now they were awake.

Johnnie could only sigh.

Without Skye’s help, he wasn’t totally helpless—he could still try using the Instant Kill effect from the Seven Sword.

But the chance of triggering that effect was just too low, and he didn’t want to waste time here.

"Coco, can you find the corpse of the Everlasting Wood Emperor?" Johnnie asked.

He still remembered the Wood Emperor’s request. The man had fallen, but his body had entered the God-Burial Realm and could possibly be revived.

"I can find it. Give me a moment, Master." Coco’s voice responded.

Soon enough, a small object came flying over.

"phalanx?" Johnnie was confused. It was just a tiny bit of phalanx—was this really the Wood Emperor’s body?

Coco explained, "The Everlasting Wood Emperor’s body was destroyed long ago. Only this phalanx remains. But he mastered powerful Wood-Element laws and has insane regenerative abilities. In the God-Burial Realm, he can recover."

Johnnie nodded and asked, "Are you sure this won’t affect the space here?"

He had promised to help the Wood Emperor, but if it would harm this place, he’d rather not go through with it.

Coco replied, "It won’t hurt anything. In fact, once he’s revived, he can restore the Undead Tree as well. That’s nothing but good news for you."

"Is that so?" Johnnie was pleasantly surprised and tossed the phalanx into the God-Burial Realm without hesitation.

Buzz!

A powerful surge of energy radiated out—the phalanx was instantly sealed in the ice, emitting a tremendous force as it absorbed energy from the space to heal itself.

Divine power!

Johnnie could feel the mighty energy and looked surprised—the God-Burial Realm was filled with divine power.

It must be related to all the Domains buried here.

Johnnie didn’t dwell on it any longer. He still had other things to take care of.
