Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Destroying the Spatial Anchor, Refining the Mechanical City

Clang, clang...

The chain quivered softly, scratched and scarred, but the Seven Sword’s Instant Kill effect still didn’t trigger.

Crack, crack...

Suddenly, faint cracking sounds started to echo.

It was the Eternal Wood Emperor’s Domain, finally reaching its limit against the flames.

Boom!

With a deafening roar, the Domain shattered completely, and endless fire swept toward the two of them.

"Kid, if I die here, you must find my body and place it in the God-Burial Realm!" The Eternal Wood Emperor gave his final instruction, his face set with grim determination. He stepped in front of Johnnie as countless purple vines whipped out, weaving into a massive cage that wrapped around Johnnie and the Dark Golden Golem.

Sizzle, sizzle...

The vines were scorched and eaten away by the flames.

The Eternal Wood Emperor’s presence grew weaker and weaker, and finally, it disappeared altogether—his consciousness once again took over the Dark Golden Golem.

"Senior!" Johnnie shouted in alarm—the Eternal Wood Emperor had actually been killed.

And even worse, the purple vines couldn’t hold back the fire and were melting away fast.

Once those vines were gone, Johnnie knew he’d be dead for sure.

"Human, I’ll give you one last chance—join the Mechanical Race, or you’re dead." Ava’s voice echoed out again, sounding as if she still wanted to recruit Johnnie.

"Hmph. Not a chance."

Johnnie stood firm, his face resolute. He’d rather die than ever join the Mechanical Race.

Buzz...

Sword Intent hummed, as if a Sword Soul had just surged into the blade. The Seven Sword’s attacks became even fiercer.

Boom!

Suddenly, with a thunderous crash, the massive chain shattered to pieces, sending up a spray of blood.

It worked!

Johnnie’s face lit up with joy, the weight on his mind finally lifting.

Sizzle, sizzle...

But right then, blood surged forward and instantly ate away the purple vines, followed by a torrent of fire falling from above.

Crap!

Johnnie’s expression changed. He quickly reached out to the Map of Heaven and Earth with his mind.

"Go!" In a flash, both he and the Dark Golden Golem vanished.

Boom!

A blast of flames crashed down where they’d been.

Buzz...

Suddenly, a tremendous spatial force rippled out, engulfing the entire space.

"The Map of Heaven and Earth’s spirit—no!" Ava’s voice was filled with terror. She sensed Coco’s presence and tried to flee, but it was too late.

Whoosh!

In an instant, the entire space was devoured by the Map of Heaven and Earth, refined and absorbed within.

Rumble...

Inside the Map of Heaven and Earth, the thunderous noise kept rolling.

Johnnie stared in amazement at the changes in the Map. The space inside was growing even broader, limitless and vast.

"No!" A giant Mechanical City pool appeared, accompanied by a voice full of rage and fear.

It was Ava.

The Mechanical City pool was her vessel. If it was destroyed, all her years of hard work would go up in smoke.

She threw everything she had into controlling the city, trying to escape—but it was hopeless.

This was the core of the Map of Heaven and Earth. The entire city and even this whole space were built upon fragments of this map. Here, Coco was in complete control.

"Human, let me go! I’ll give you this whole space." Ava’s voice was desperate now, begging Johnnie for mercy.

Johnnie just sneered, refusing to even respond.

Buzz...

The space trembled as the entire Mecha Divine Nation, including the Mechanical City, was slowly absorbed into the Map of Heaven and Earth.

Ava’s presence grew fainter and fainter.

She raged, "Human, you can’t kill me! Without the Mechanical City, I swear I’ll hunt you to the ends of the universe!"

"You sure I can’t kill you?" Johnnie replied with a smirk. With a thought, he summoned the Seven Sword, sending it flying straight at the Mechanical City pool.

"Damn it!" Ava was alarmed. She’d just watched the Seven Sword destroy the Spatial Anchor.

Her city probably wouldn’t survive either. If the Instant Kill triggered, not only would the city be destroyed, but her consciousness would be wiped out for good.

Run!

Ava didn’t hesitate for a second; her consciousness detached from the Mechanical City core immediately.

A faint, ethereal figure floated in midair. Even though all her years of hard work had just gone up in smoke, at least she was still alive.

"Human, you’ll regret your decision today. We will meet again!" Ava’s cold voice echoed, and her consciousness quickly fled the space. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Johnnie frowned, forced to watch helplessly as she escaped.

The Seven Sword could only Instant Kill consciousnesses attached to a physical body, but for pure consciousness, there was nothing it could do.

Even Coco and Skye didn’t have the power to destroy a disembodied consciousness.

Not only that, but dozens of other consciousnesses burst out of the Mechanical City and disappeared right after Ava.

They were the spirits of those mechanical Domain beings.

"Lucky bastards," Johnnie muttered to himself, feeling a bit pained. Those were all Divine powerhouses—if he’d killed them and triggered God-killing power, his strength would have skyrocketed.

Rumble, rumble...

The roaring continued all around as the entire space underwent a dramatic transformation.

The commotion caught Skye’s attention.

"Kid, looks like you got lucky again. You actually found another fragment of the Map of Heaven and Earth," Skye’s voice sounded out.

Johnnie nodded, forcing a sheepish smile.

He’d lost Skye’s shield, and if Skye found out, he’d be in serious trouble.

Luckily, Skye didn’t seem to be looking for the shield, and instead, curiously inspected the changes in the Map of Heaven and Earth.

Not just the Mechanical City core, but even the giant Spiritual Stone mine and the entire Mecha Divine Nation’s space were being swallowed up, little by little, by the Map of Heaven and Earth.

The Red Carp and Benz, who had been guarding the mine, panicked and rushed over to Johnnie.

"Sir, what’s going on here?" Benz asked, staring at the apocalyptic scene in fear.

"It’s nothing, just refining this entire space," Johnnie replied calmly, though his eyes were full of excitement.

This haul was enormous—the Map of Heaven and Earth was upgraded, and he’d gotten himself a massive Spiritual Stone mine.

Benz didn’t really get it, but he didn’t ask much more and instead looked around with curiosity.

"Huh?" He was drawn to Skye, and frowned. "Where did that headless body come from? It feels pretty powerful."

As he spoke, he instinctively lifted a foot to give it a kick.

Johnnie saw what he was about to do, but it was already too late to stop him.

Bang!

With a loud crash, a figure was sent flying—it was Benz.

"Damn!" He crashed to the ground, rolling a few times before scrambling back to his feet.

"Shit, a headless corpse dares disrespect Benz? You’re dead!" He grabbed his giant axe and charged right back in, roaring with rage.

Johnnie just shook his head and covered his eyes.

Bang! Bang!

The sounds of fists pounding on flesh echoed across the space.

Benz’s howls of pain rang out.

"Sir, help! This headless corpse is possessed!" Benz ran away in a panic, completely helpless.

"Hmph, a minotaur dares act up in front of me?" Skye’s icy voice cut through, as he continued his assault—but clearly pulled his punches.

In seconds, Benz’s bull head was swollen like a pig’s, and he lay on the ground, barely moving.

Bang!

Skye lifted a foot and kicked him flying again, dusting off his hands with satisfaction.

Savage.

Johnnie looked at Benz’s sorry state and couldn’t help but be amazed.

Maiev smiled slightly, raising her hand to cast a healing spell over Benz, instantly restoring his injuries.

Benz crawled up, cowering behind Johnnie, peeking out warily at Skye, and asked, "Sir, who the hell is that? Why is he so terrifying? And how’s he alive with no head?"

Johnnie shot him a glare and didn’t answer.

This guy never minds his mouth—honestly, he got off easy.

"Kid, where’s my shield? I can’t sense it anywhere," Skye suddenly turned to Johnnie, his tone suspicious.

Johnnie’s heart skipped a beat. He’d been enjoying the show, and now the attention was on him.

"Senior, it’s in my bag," he said, a little nervously.

"Really?" Skye clearly didn’t believe him and pressed, "Take it out and let me see."

Johnnie swallowed hard and looked to the others for help.

But everyone instinctively took a step back—nobody offered to help him.

Even Maiev kept her distance.

No one wanted to mess with the Demon God Skye. Not even the Eternal Wood Emperor at his peak could take him on.

Johnnie forced a smile and said, "Uh, I left it outside."

Even though Skye didn’t have a head, he still felt like needles were pricking his back.

"Hmph, do you think I’m an idiot?" Skye snapped impatiently. "Tell me, where’s my shield?"

Johnnie knew he couldn’t keep hiding it, so he braced himself and said, "Senior, I accidentally lost it. But don’t worry, I’ll get it back for you."

"Lost it?" Skye sounded confused. "Then why can’t I sense the shield’s aura at all?"

Johnnie replied carefully, "Uhh... it fell into the spatial turbulence?"

"What?" A furious roar erupted, and a terrifying energy filled the air.

Johnnie took the full brunt of it and was sent flying.

"You little brat, say that again! Where did you lose it?" Skye’s voice was burning with rage.

Johnnie could feel his anger. "Senior, I promise, I’ll definitely find it for you."

"Find it? I don’t even dare step into the spatial turbulence, but you think you can? You’re getting a lesson today, kid!" In a flash, Skye appeared in front of Johnnie, and a massive fist came crashing down.

Bang!

Johnnie was sent flying again, close to tears. He’d just been watching the show, and now it was his turn.

Before he even hit the ground, Skye appeared right in front of him again.

Bang! Bang!

The sound of blows landing echoed through the air. Now, Johnnie truly understood how Benz had felt just moments ago.

Each punch landed hard and hurt like hell, but somehow, he wasn’t actually getting injured.

Skye must have used some kind of trick—he’d locked Johnnie’s health points.

No matter how much damage he took, he wouldn’t die—he’d just get pummeled over and over.

"Maiev, help me!" Johnnie cried out in agony, begging Maiev for help.

But she shrank back in fear, raising her hands. "Master, it’s not that I don’t want to help you—I’m no match for Lord Skye. Don’t worry, I’ll heal you when he’s done."

"Damn it..." Johnnie tried to curse, but before he could finish, Skye sent him flying with another punch.

"Coco!" he yelled helplessly, calling for Coco’s help.

But Coco acted like she hadn’t heard a thing, continuing to refine the space without the slightest reaction.
