Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Upheaval in The Chinese City, Destroying the Statue

With the Mechanical City Lord out of the way, Johnnie easily refined the Mechanical City and learned everything about it.

Ripper assault rifles, Hunter sniper rifles, Arcane Crystal Tank, Psionic pulse cannons, Dragon Roar fighter jets...

Johnnie was amazed. Each production line in this city was building Earth-upgraded technological weapons with astonishing power.

The Ripper assault rifle fired special enchanted rounds, dealing ten thousand fixed damage and ignoring all defenses, including divine power.

The Hunter sniper rifle dealt one hundred thousand fixed damage. Most impressive were its speed and range: Mach 10 flight speed, with an effective kill range of thirty thousand meters—far more terrifying than his Myriad Sword Technique.

This was definitely a powerful ranged sniping weapon. Never mind players—even monsters below stage 9 couldn’t withstand it.

Besides that, there were Arcane Crystal Tank and Dragon Roar fighter jets, both outperforming and outgunning any real-world technology.

Production efficiency was a bit low, though.

Only ten Ripper assault rifles could be made per day, and just one Hunter sniper rifle per day. A Psionic pulse cannon took three days to build.

Arcane Crystal Tank and Dragon Roar fighter jets took even longer—one per month.

Clearly, the production lines needed expansion.

For Johnnie, that was no problem. On a whim, he swept the entire Mechanical City into the Map of Heaven and Earth.

Ding!

Just then, his private messages chimed again—it was Crysic.

Crysic: "Johnnie, are you okay?"

She’d been watching her friend list, and seeing Johnnie come back online, she messaged him right away.

Johnnie: "I was trapped in a special space, just got out. Nothing dangerous happened. What’s going on in Universe Continent?"

Crysic: "It’s complicated, and something happened to Cecilia."

Something happened to Cecilia?

Johnnie was shocked and quickly asked, "What happened?"

Crysic: "It’s too much to explain. Come to The Chinese City, fast."

Johnnie didn’t ask any more. He closed the chat and looked to Maiev and Benz. "You two, return to the Map of Heaven and Earth for now."

"Master, did something happen?" Maiev asked, worried.

They’d been stuck in the Mecha Divine Nation for over a month. With Universe Continent’s suppression lifted, a ton of Domains were bound to show up.

"I’m not sure yet. I’ll summon you if I need you." Johnnie wasn’t clear on what had happened, so he put the two of them, along with the Dark Golden Golem, into the Map of Heaven and Earth, summoned the Void Sword, and took off flying.

His Sword Dao had now reached the Sword Spirit Realm, making his sword flight much faster—far surpassing the speed of his Demon Wings.

Johnnie left the Dark Forest, headed for the nearest city, teleported to Solaris City, then flew straight toward The Chinese City.

As soon as he reached the skies above the city, he noticed something was off.

In the main square of The Chinese City stood a giant statue, a long blade strapped to its back, its expression proud and aloof, radiating powerful might.

It was a Domain-level statue—and a Demon race Domain at that.

A sense of dread crept into Johnnie’s heart. Had the Demon race taken over here?

But he couldn’t sense any Demon race Domain aura, nor could he detect the auras of Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise.

They weren’t in Tetrasaint City either.

It looked like something had really happened to Montemar Empire. Maybe Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise had already fallen.

Johnnie’s brow furrowed. He headed straight for the city governor’s residence.

Dylan, Crysic, and the other girls were all there. Clearly, they’d already gotten the news.

But Johnnie didn’t see Cecilia.

"Johnnie, you’re finally back!" Dylan rushed over, clearly relieved.

Johnnie nodded, cutting him off and looking to Crysic. "What happened to Cecilia?"

"Cecilia was taken by the Demon race," Crysic quickly explained what had happened after Johnnie left.

With the suppression on Universe Continent gone, a flood of Domains had arrived—some were even Core Gods and Highgods.

A bunch of powerful new factions had appeared and started building their own countries.

The Montemar Empire that Johnnie founded had caught the attention of the Demon race.

A Core God powerhouse from the Demon race, Blade King, attacked the Montemar Empire, destroying the Four Saints’ protective formation and directly killing both Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise.

They are Divine powerhouses—if their Divine Souls remain, they can’t truly die, but recovery will take a long time.

And even if they do recover, their strength will be greatly affected.

Cecilia was also captured by the Demon race at that time and taken to the Land of Confusion.

"What about Atlas Senior?" Johnnie asked with a frown, noticing that Atlas and Finn were missing, and neither was online in his friend list.

Crysic quickly replied, "Elder Yett Senior, Finn, and Bellina all entered the Land of Confusion. Something happened to them too—we can’t contact them, and they can’t log out."

Even Elder Yett Senior and the others ran into trouble? 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Johnnie’s brow furrowed deeper. It looked like he’d have to enter the Land of Confusion himself.

But before that, he needed to take care of things here.

"I heard that Johnnie has come back?" Just then, a voice came from outside the hall as a Demon race man strode in arrogantly.

Johnnie’s brow creased, and a trace of killing intent flashed in his eyes.

This guy was only stage 8, an Epic-level cultivator. In front of Johnnie, he was no threat at all.

Dylan hurried to introduce him. "Johnnie, this is the envoy sent by the Demon race, Lord Azure."

"So you’re Johnnie?" Azure lifted his chin slightly, his tone full of contempt. "You’re even weaker than I expected. From now on, your Montemar Empire is under the protection of the Demon race. You’ll pay ten million gold coins every month to Lord Blade King."

"Hmph. You think you’re qualified?" Johnnie said coldly. The Void Sword appeared in his hand, and he struck without warning.

Buzz!

The Intent of the Sword hummed as a flash of cold light streaked past.

Pfft!

-7,650,000

Critical hit!

Over seven million in terrifying damage—Azure was instantly killed.

His eyes widened in terror and disbelief as he collapsed to the ground.

[Ding, you’ve killed a stage 8, Epic powerhouse. Your level has reached the peak of stage 5 and cannot gain more EXP. Please advance soon.]

The prompt message flashed.

For a moment, everyone was stunned.

"Johnnie, wasn’t that a bit reckless?" Dylan said with a frown. "With so many Domains reviving, a lot of factions have their eyes on the Montemar Empire. With the Demon race’s protection, we might actually be safe."

Johnnie frowned, shot him a cold look, and said, "As long as I’m here, we don’t need their protection."

He paused, then asked, "So, have any of your higher-ups actually sided with the Demon race?"

"No," Dylan answered quickly. "We only agreed to their terms as a temporary measure. Otherwise, the Montemar Empire would’ve been wiped out by now."

"It better stay that way. Otherwise, our cooperation ends here!" Johnnie said sharply.

He and Dylan were only partners—the military couldn’t restrict his movements.

With this second chance at life, Johnnie had only one goal: to protect Earth. If the military couldn’t be trusted, he wouldn’t hesitate to walk away.

Dylan assured him, "Johnnie, you can trust us. I can’t speak for others, but our military will never collude with those aliens."

Johnnie nodded and said nothing more. With a thought, he headed to the square, leaped into the air, and brought the Void Sword down hard on the statue.

Boom!

With a thunderous boom, the massive statue was completely destroyed.

The commotion drew the attention of patrolling soldiers in the city, and they rushed over immediately.

"It’s Guru Johnnie!"

"Awesome, Guru Johnnie is finally back!"

...

Cheers erupted all around, and everyone felt reassured and excitedly gathered around Johnnie.

To them, Johnnie was their pillar of strength.

Dylan, who had just arrived, saw this scene and felt a vague sense of unease.

Destroying Blade King’s statue would definitely offend the Demon race for good.

Without the Demon race’s protection, the Montemar Empire was in serious trouble.

Johnnie ignored the surrounding players. With a thought, he soared into the air, and suddenly a gigantic city appeared, floating in the sky.

"A flying city?!"

"That’s from the Mechanical Race!"

Everyone looked up at the city in the sky, stunned and amazed.

"Crysic, go call White Spirit Tiger and the others here," Johnnie’s voice sounded out.

Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise had been killed, but their avatars still remained.

If Montemar Empire wanted to boost its strength quickly, they’d need to get mechanical talents, separate their consciousness, and control the Mechanical Race Domain.

Inside the God-Creating Space, over a dozen mechanical Domain bodies had already been formed. Even though they were all Lesser Gods, the power of the Mechanical Race Domain was far beyond that of normal Lesser Gods, more than enough to protect Montemar Empire.

Soon, Crysic and the other women led White Spirit Tiger and the other three into the city.

"Kid, you finally made it back! Hey, isn’t this a Mechanical Race city?" Phoenix landed right above his head, asking in confusion.

Johnnie nodded, not bothering to explain, and looked at Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise. "Seniors, where are your Divine Souls?"

Azure Dragon replied helplessly, "They’re cultivating in Tetrasaint City, but there’s no way we’ll recover anytime soon."

Johnnie said, "Seniors, let your Divine Souls enter the Map of Heaven and Earth. I’ve already unlocked the God-Burial Realm. Cultivation there is much faster."

The God-Burial Realm contains powerful divine power. Divine Souls can absorb it and reform their bodies much faster.

"You unlocked the God-Burial Realm?" The group was shocked—it was clear they all knew the secret of the Map of Heaven and Earth.

Johnnie nodded.

Black Tortoise was delighted and said, "I’ll summon our Divine Souls right away."

Whoosh!

In no time, two Divine Souls came flying over. Johnnie immediately collected them into the Map of Heaven and Earth.

Training in the God-Burial Realm, they should be able to restore their bodies in less than half a year.

Johnnie had another thought and took out a huge pile of mechanical talent stones and Spiritual Stones.

"Spiritual Stones? That many!" Phoenix exclaimed and dove straight onto the pile, spreading her wings in excitement.

"Little guy, are all these for us?" she asked, gulping, her eyes sparkling.

Johnnie nodded and said, "They’re for you, but not for direct refining."

"You’re giving them to us but we can’t refine them?" Phoenix looked completely baffled.

Johnnie then shared his plan with everyone.
