Chapter 56 - 56: The Five Elders’ Decision! Lucky Yet Unlucky Buggy!

Not far away, a Marine officer came rushing over and dropped to one knee before quickly reporting the news.

The Five Elders' faces all shifted into expressions of disbelief.

"What did you say?"

"A Celestial Dragon who went to the Bridge Nation for leisure was brutally murdered by an intruder?!"

The Marine officer, seeing their incredulous reactions, quickly stepped forward, pulled several photos from his coat, and laid them out on the table. He said seriously:

"It's true. These photos were taken by the Navy's Photography Division Chief during an undercover mission in the Bridge Nation."

"They clearly captured part of what happened there."

The Five Elders immediately turned their attention to the photographs.

After just a glance, their brows furrowed deeply.

One photo showed a tall, imposing man rampaging among Marine soldiers, killing without restraint.

Another showed him swinging a yak back and forth, while a brown bear lay collapsed beside him.

There was even a shot of the man driving his arm straight through a CP9 member—captured with chilling clarity.

But what made their expressions darken the most...

Were the three photos showing the man punching a Celestial Dragon, kicking another, and finally grabbing one by the throat and lifting him high into the air.

Seeing these images, the Five Elders immediately exchanged serious glances and began to speak in low, tense voices.

"Unbelievable... a man that vicious appeared in the East Blue of all places."

"Yeah, and he dared to treat a Celestial Dragon like that."

"Saint Charlmak must be terribly unlucky... Just out for some fun and ends up in something like this."

At this point, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, the Warrior God of Science and Defense—with his white curly hair, thick beard, flat hat, and the scar on his left cheek—suddenly spoke up:

"But for now, what's even more critical is the situation with Whitebeard."

"According to intel, there seems to be an internal conflict within the Whitebeard Pirates, and one of their division commanders has died."

The other four shifted their focus at once, joining the discussion:

"That's true. The sea relies on balance, and the Whitebeard Pirates are one of the key pillars. We can't let them spiral into chaos."

"I've heard the same. According to the latest reports, the crew has sent someone to hunt down the traitor who killed the commander."

"Yes, apparently it's that kid called Ace. He even turned down the Shichibukai offer back then."

"And later joined the Whitebeard Pirates on his own accord."

"Just as expected from the son of a criminal—he's a troublesome one."

"Forget him for now. As long as he doesn't stir up a major storm, we need the seas to remain calm."

"But what about the murdered Celestial Dragon? How should we handle that?"

The topic returned to the slain Celestial Dragon.

At this moment, Saint Topman Warcury, the Warrior God of Legal Affairs—bald, with long mustaches shaped like parentheses and a birthmark on his forehead—spoke gravely:

"In my opinion, we must suppress the news of the Celestial Dragon's death. If word gets out, it could stir up a massive upheaval across the seas."

The others nodded in agreement after a brief moment of thought:

"Agreed. If this gets out, it will deal a serious blow to the Celestial Dragons' authority and standing."

"Exactly. And once dangerous elements learn of this, they might try to copy the act. That would be a real disaster."

"But we can't just leave it alone either. Otherwise, Saint Charlmak would have died in vain."

"How about this: we frame the incident as the man breaking into the Bridge Nation to liberate slaves, and in the process, attacking the Celestial Dragon who happened to be there."

"That works. It makes the whole situation look much less severe."

"Good. Let's go with that. As for apprehending the man responsible, let Marine Headquarters handle it."

Then, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn turned to the Marine officer beside him and asked:

"By the way, who is Marine HQ sending to the East Blue to deal with this?"

The officer immediately answered:

"Vice Admiral Garp. Upon hearing the report, he personally volunteered to go to the East Blue and handle the matter."

The Five Elders exchanged surprised glances at the unexpected name.

"Garp, huh..."

"That reckless old fool."

"Whatever. Let him handle it—he's rarely this proactive."

"Yeah, his strength is still reliable. Let him go."

"As long as this is settled quickly, that's all that matters."

Seeing that there were no objections, the Marine officer then asked another question:

"There's one more issue. Regarding the man who committed this heinous crime—what bounty should we place on his head?"

The Five Elders fell into discussion once again:

"Yes... A madman like him must be given a bounty."

"But we can't make it too high, or sharp minds might realize something's off."

"True. But it can't be too low either. What he did was far too atrocious. He must be caught as soon as possible."

"Set it at 650 million Berries. Not too high, not too low."

"Agreed. He attacked a Celestial Dragon and freed the slaves of the Bridge Nation. That amount seems reasonable."

"Yes, and he was even able to kill a CP9 agent. He's no weakling."

"Then it's settled. Let the East Blue Marines identify him and issue the bounty notice immediately."

The reporting officer bowed respectfully and responded:

"Yes, sir!"

Three Days Later – Loguetown, Port Area

At this moment, the ever-"lucky" Buggy the Clown had reunited with his crew and was now aboard a ship, shouting in frustration.

"Move it, you idiots! Get this ship sailing already!"

"Otherwise that damn Smoker's gonna catch up to us!"

"Aye, Captain Buggy!" the pirates onboard shouted in unison, then scurried off to finish preparations.

Buggy stood with one hand on his hip, his heart burning with anxiety.

Ever since he encountered that man who took one of his hands, his luck had been a maddening mix of good and bad.

After being punched into the sea, he somehow survived and drifted to an island—lucky.

Then he was relentlessly chased by a bunch of weird animals—unlucky.

He stumbled across Cabaji in a chest—lucky again.

Then bumped into those two annoying brats—very unlucky.

After finally ditching those pests on the island, he took a small boat out to sea, trying to find his scattered crew.

Only to get attacked by a sea beast—unlucky once more.

After narrowly escaping, he unexpectedly ran into Alvida.

From her, he heard the name of a certain annoying brat.

He immediately proposed teaming up to deal with that brat named Luffy.

Thus, he managed to strike a deal with Alvida and, using her ship, successfully gathered the scattered remnants of his crew.

Then, Buggy led everyone straight to Loguetown.

His plan was simple: restock some supplies here and then set sail for the Grand Line.

No way was he sticking around the East Blue any longer.

Not with that lunatic still wandering around—Buggy feared he might lose his other hand next time.

But even though he'd been extra careful, he still ended up being spotted by that smoke-blowing freak in Loguetown.

If they didn't get out of the harbor now, things would get ugly real fast!
