Omega's Rebirth-Chapter 77: Summoned Back 2 ()
Neveah stopped at the door to her room, turning around to face Lado who stood calmly behind her still holding the box.
"Are you going to follow me into my room as well?" Neveah demanded and Lado shrugged casually.
"As I have said, we werewolves do not fret over nudity... only a human would be so self conscious." Lado said pointedly, the words he always did when he did not bother getting clothed after reverting to his human form.
Lado was someone Neveah could describe as a public nuisance, an annoyance and an eye sore, he had no care for common decency and if everyone was like him, there would be no need for clothing anymore.
Lado was a high ranked warrior, beloved and trusted by the Alpha King and also Alessio’s bosom friend, he was one of the most sought after Eclipse warrior in all the Eclipse Fang Pack.
The she wolves drooled over him and were willing to do anything to get just a gaze from him and Lado was mighty proud of himself and his handsome appearance.
Neveah could not count just how many times he had shifted right before her eyes and let her endure the horrifying sight of his endowments and he felt no remorse about it whatsoever.
There were many warriors Neveah detested in the Eclipse Fang Pack but Lado was on a pedestal high above all the others and for good reason.
The emotional and physical abuse Neveah suffered at the hands of the Eclipse Fang wolves was already enough, Lado was the only one who insisted on being a boorish brute.
"Why do you not pay my mother a visit in her chambers and explain this opinion of yours... do ensure my father is present too, so they may judge for themselves what they think of it." Neveah said in a blank tone.
"You little runt... I see you are just as mouthy as always." Lado sneered.
"Give me the box Lado and wait out here, or I won’t go with you." Neveah threatened.
"And you believe I shall not throw you over my shoulder and drag you back?" Lado asked with a raised brow. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Not if I bite my tongue off first, then you can take my corpse back to my father and see how you explain my demise." Neveah said, unfazed by Lado’s words.
Lado’s brows twitched in annoyance but Neveah knew he would do as she said, he knew well enough the consequences he would face if anything did happen to Neveah and they were consequences he could not bear.
Neveah knew Lado well enough to know exactly how to rile him up, and the Eclipse warriors believed they knew her well enough too...it was only that they didn’t.
"Fine, just hurry up." Lado relented as he handed over the box and Neveah took it, stepping into her room and shutting the door.
Neveah turned the lock so it clicked and then she leaned against the door for a moment, collecting her thoughts, it was only after a short time that she headed into her washroom.
’It seems my days of freedom have come to it’s end...’ Neveah thought with a sigh.
’We do not have to go back with them Veah." Neveah’s wolf reminded in her mind.
’The Eclipse Hunt Pack will be implicated if we resist, we will have to bend just this last time. We will find our own way out after this...we cannot let anyone get hurt.’ Neveah replied to her wolf.
’I have already told you a King has no friend but you would not heed, now you have grown attached. They vowed to keep us safe and battle for our cause but you will not even let them...’
’They have sworn to protect us but we are now the ones protecting them...it is infuriating.’ Neveah’s wolf grumbled.
"Why is it that you were so restless while Leen was enduring the travails of labor? And I am the only one attached?" Neveah thought to her wolf as she headed to the washroom.
Neveah’s wolf grunted in her mind and Neveah smirked slightly.
"We have already decided to protect them since the moment we awakened to a second chance, do not falter now. Fret not, we are of one mind... We will leave the moment we get a chance...we do not have to endanger anyone." Neveah thought to her wolf.
"Very well then, we are stronger now. It should not be too difficult to get away." Neveah’s wolf said in agreement.
Neveah heated up her bath water and stepped in, taking her time to wash off the blood that stuck to her skin and after she was clean, she stepped out and dried herself.
Neveah put on a bathrobe and headed out into her room, she strode over to the box and pulled it open, not surprised to see a set of pure white travel clothing contained within.
"White...it is always white. Dressing me in white at every point does not cover the truth." Neveah grumbled to herself as she glared down at the clothing.
With a sigh, she put on the white riding clothing and after setting her belt in order, she pulled her hair up into a pony tail.
Neveah did not bother glancing in the mirror, she just sat at the edge of her bed and pulled on her boots before heading out to find Lado waiting there as she had bid him.
"You certainly took your time." Lado said and Neveah passed him a blank gaze.
"Lead the way, Lado." Neveah said, she was not interested in having another argument with him.
"What? You do not wish to return?" Lado asked with a raised brow.
"Does it matter?" Neveah said with a smile as she walked past Lado and led the way out of the pack house.
Neveah would not burden herself over her father’s summon, it was of no matter. She had gotten the time she needed to clear her head and decide on how she wanted her life to be.
Now, she was no longer the same person she used to be in her previous lifetime, she was not the person who could foolishly turn her back to someone else.
She knew how to protect herself now, she knew never to trust anyone, she knew that everyone was an enemy and everyone was a foe, no one would be able to catch her off guard.
Because there would never be a moment that Neveah would not be on guard... dying at the hands of her enemies was a fate Neveah would not allow this time.
"You have changed Veah." Neveah’s wolf said to her.
"How so?" Neveah thought back to her wolf.
"You are not scared or intimidated. You do not care for what their plots are because you are willing to be as ruthless as is required to survive."
"Before now, you hid a warm and loving heart beneath a cold exterior...but now, you hide a cold and untrusting heart beneath a smile, this is the way." Neveah’s wolf thought to her in approval.
"After all we have been through, I would be a fool to not have learnt. I do not fear because I am not weak. Whatever comes our way...we will see to it." Neveah thought back to her wolf.
"The Creator pairing me with you, it is truly a worthy match. I would ask for no one else." Neveah’s wolf hummed.
Neveah stepped out of the pack house to see Vincent, Dechlan and Alpha Dane stood there waiting for her.
"You should not leave Leen’s side, she has just put to birth. And you two should be guarding the pups, when do you have the time to come out here and wait for me?" Neveah asked with a small smile.
"Even till now, you are still so detached and distant." Dechlan pointed out and Neveah only stared at them for a moment.
"I am always like this." Neveah replied with a casual shrug as she turned to Lado.
"Go on ahead, Alpha Dane will see me to the border." Neveah said.
Lado frowned slightly, passing a glance between Neveah and Alpha Dane before he nodded and strode off ahead.
"He is quite obedient." Dechlan said sarcastically.
"He does not wish for me to bite my tongue off and let him bear the consequences, he certainly has to comply." Neveah said.
"Veah... this was not the plan. I do not feel at ease with this." Alpha Dane said with a shake of his head.
"There are thirty Eclipse warriors outside Eclipse Hunt borders...each of them are elite fighters. I do not doubt the skill of your warriors but many will fall on both ends, and still yet my father will not relent." Neveah said straightforwardly.
"If I leave now, father need only send a notice to all Eclipse packs and I will be caught before I can leave the Eclipse Domain. The Eclipse Hunt will still shoulder the responsibility for this." Neveah continued.
"We do not fear the risk, Veah." Alpha Dane said and his words only made Neveah feel she could not lose the only people who truly cared for her to her father.
"You have taught me that a true warrior knows when to advance and when to retreat... this time, the Eclipse Hunt is to take a step back. If you have decided to follow me, then you will honor my will." Neveah said in a firm tone.
