Omega's Rebirth-Chapter 78: Back In The Eclipse Palace ()
"Will you not see Leen and the pups before you leave?" Alpha Dane asked in a low tone as they walked through the forest.
They had been walking for a while now in complete silence and Neveah knew Alpha Dane had wanted to ask this for sometime now,
But he was still reeling from her words which ordered the Eclipse Hunt to stand down. The Eclipse Hunt Pack was willing to risk everything to protect her yet Neveah was turning them down.
Alpha Dane was not certain if he was to feel worried or grateful, he had already come to regard Neveah as his own daughter and letting her go back to the hell hole at this time just did not sit right with him.
Yet Alpha Dane also understood the reason in Neveah’s words, if one was not assured of winning, was there a point to fighting a losing battle?
It would only lead to death and destruction and the Alpha King was already so eager to take down the Eclipse Hunt Pack and Alpha Dane, giving him a justification was not helping anybody.
Sometimes, it was better to take a step back, to lower one’s head for the moment and preserve your strength to fight another day.
It was only that, even if Alpha Dane knew this, he still felt it was too unfair to let Neveah return to such a place and it ached his heart that there was nothing he could do about it.
Neveah shook her head in response to Alpha Dane’s question, she had already thought about it and decided it was best she did not see Luna Colleen before leaving.
Luna Colleen had just put to birth, it was best she was not burdened with any worries and Neveah did not want to go through the emotional goodbyes, it would only be strange and she would not know how to react.
"I will only make it hard on her, she needs to rest without disturbance. I will leave it to you to decide when and how to break it to her." Neveah decided.
"She will be hurt...we all are." Vincent grumbled in an annoyed tone.
Neveah did not respond, she instead kept her gaze fixed ahead, she did not bother glancing back at the Eclipse Hunt Pack either, it was doubtful she would ever be able to return to this place again.
Now that Luna Colleen had gotten her long awaited wish, Neveah was also at ease...it could be said that the debts she owed in the previous lifetime had all been repaid.
To Lucas Varleston and to Alpha Dane and Luna Colleen all of whom had thought for her benefit and mourned her death though they had only known her for a short time.
"You need not escort me any further, lest Lado reports back to my father that I am regarded too highly by the Eclipse Hunt." Neveah said.
"Veah..." Dechlan began to protest but Neveah cut him off.
"Father is already wary of you, I shall not add onto his suspicion." Neveah said as she continued on alone.
This path of hers, it was always a path she had to walk alone, Neveah had known it all along and she had already accepted this fate.
The less people she had around her, the less people that would get hurt in the event that her fate was inevitable.
At this time, the future was still uncertain, Neveah could not tell if she would live past the next day even and so it was best to walk alone.
It took a short while for Neveah to arrive at the border of the Eclipse Hunt Pack where Lado and the other Eclipse Fang warriors already awaited Neveah’s arrival.
At this point, Neveah had already left Alpha Dane and the rest far behind and she had ensured to walk at an extremely leisure pace down the shortest path leading to the border.
Just as Lado had said, thirty Eclipse Fang warriors had been assigned to personally escort her back to the Eclipse Fang territory and Neveah lips tilted to a cold smile.
"Greetings, Princess." The Eclipse warriors greeted in unison and Neveah ignored them as she glanced around for a moment, raising a questioning brow when she did not see a horse or a carriage anywhere.
"His Lordship orders for you to return as soon as possible, we cannot delay our journey to accommodate a horse." Lado explained, understanding Neveah’s wonder.
"Then how am I supposed to travel back?" Neveah asked in a blank tone.
"Any of the warriors can be your mount." Lado said.
"Oh?" Neveah asked, before she nodded.
"Very well then, I shall grant you the honors Lado." Neveah decided without giving it much thought.
Lado was already expecting this and so he grumbled beneath his breath in annoyance but he did as was requested of him.
Lado knew well enough how stubborn headed Neveah was, refusing her would not bode well for him and the journey would not be smooth.
"I will be your mount then." Lado said in a tight tone and Neveah nodded in approval before she glanced back at the forest stretching out ahead of her.
"What is lost is gained and what is gained is lost. This is the order of things, why must one dwell on it?" Neveah murmured to herself as she headed over to Lado and climbed astride his back.

It took a four day journey to arrive back at the Eclipse Palace and though it would have taken much longer, it was unexpected that Lado had let Neveah ride on his wolf all throughout these four days.
Lado had not even suggested to be replaced by one of the other warriors but had just continued running at full speed, jostling Neveah unnecessarily.
In all the years Neveah had known Lado, he had been most disgusted by the mere idea of Neveah even touching his wolf form, but it turned out this time, he had been the one to accept it without hesitation.
This came off as suspicious to Neveah who knew her father’s temperament more than most.
Her father would not risk her life and safety by ordering the Eclipse Hunt wolves to travel at such a speed, unless there was another reason attached to it.
Neveah had found Lado’s rush much too inappropriate, she had already been away from the Eclipse Palace for half a year, there could not have been anything so important that she needed to arrive with such urgency.
Unless something had happened or something was going to happen, and both options unsettled Neveah.
’Be rest assured, you still have me.’ Neveah’s wolf reminded her through their link and Neveah nodded in agreement.
Upon their arrival, it was already a little past sunset and Neveah stared up at the towering structure that was the Eclipse Palace, a large dungeon that she could not seem to escape.
"You should go in, tidy yourself first. His Lordship is urgently waiting for you in his study." Lado said and Neveah nodded in understanding.
The Eclipse warriors who had escorted her had already dispersed, leaving her all alone with Lado outside the gates of the Eclipse Palace. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Most of the warriors patrolled outside the Eclipse Palace, only a few were granted access into the palace grounds when not on duty, the Alpha King especially paid attention to these details.
Neveah quirked a brow, she could sense the rare bustling atmosphere of the eclipse palace and she wondered just what kind of event she had come to meet.
The Alpha King was a man who did not cast his attention on luxurious indulgence, he would only ever throw such lavish event if there was good cause for it... Neveah could at least give her father that.
Neveah shook her head as she headed down the path that led to her quarters, it seemed no one knew she had arrived yet and they didn’t even take notice of her as she stuck to the forest path.
To have such a busy event that would have everyone so distracted, Neveah did not even want to know what it was.
Neveah was grateful for whatever it was, otherwise she would have to face Alessio at this moment and Alessio was the last person she wanted to see.
Six months had already gone by and Neveah had turned her eighteenth year a long time ago, it only meant that the moment Alessio set eyes on her, he would know immediately that they were mates.
Neveah could not even begin to wonder how Alessio would react to it and she would much rather push it forward as much as possible.
If there truly was such a busy event in the Eclipse Palace, Alessio would also be busy and would not have the time to come out in search of her.
Or better still, it was possible her father had not told Alessio of her return at all, otherwise Alessio would have already been awaiting her just to remind her of his supremacy over her.
Whatever it was, Neveah hoped they would not cross paths anytime soon...but of course, she herself knew that was too much to ask.
