Chapter 376: Revelations 4 (Ch.376)

"But in the next moment, I swore, I was wrong to believe I had seen the most beautiful sight already, for when she shifted...By the Creator..." Kaideon whispered, the awe in his words conveying just how he had felt on that day.

"Her hair was the exact same shade as her fur, as white as snow...it cascaded down her back in waves and she donned a white winter coat."

"She gazed down at me with a chilling cold glare, but there I was, still losing my breath even when my airway was no longer being crushed."

"Her eyes, endless pools of icy blue beauty, it would be easy for you to picture her...you need only stare in the mirror, these two features are truly all that set you two apart." Kaideon said honestly.

Neveah could picture it now, her mother’s image was now vivid in her mind and truly, Neveah could agree that Kaideon had every reason to lose his breath.

"Her next words were uttered in a cold, harsh tone but it sounded like music to my ears. She asked to know who I was and why I had trespassed wolf territory and I could only smile like an awestruck fool." Kaideon sighed quietly.

"That did not sit all too well with your mother, Eira grabbed me by the shirt and dragged me along with her through the wasteland."

"Not that I minded at all, but I had to wonder if she had forgotten the great beast that had nearly crushed her a moment ago and whom she now carelessly pulled about with no ounce of fear." Kaideon added.

"She intended to drag me back to answer to her pack, and I intended to let her have her way for a short while and then steal her away and fly as far as I could before anyone realized it... spend the rest of my days wooing her."

"But nature had other plans, a snow storm began that night, we were only halfway across the snow desert and so we had to take shelter in a cave till it passed."

"Nature had shown up at just the right moment, you could imagine my elation, being alone with the most beautiful woman I had ever seen... indefinitely."

"I had completely forgotten I had a fortress to return to, or that the snow storm was nothing against the strength of my wings and could not stop me escaping her at all... none of that came to mind. " Kaideon chuckled again.

"It was a cold night, but my heart was warm and contented even through her glares and silent treatment. Eventually, the storm grew worse and it was impossible to keep a fire burning."

"Now, while she did not need the help, I had to be the gentle man."

"My dragon form was born of flames and exuded heat, the cave was just large enough to shift and so I did, assuring her I would return to human form on her request and not escape." Kaideon revealed.

"There was not much space left and we could not avoid being in contact, as much as it irked her. Just like that, we waited out the storm and somewhere along the line, she was daring enough to feel my scales."

"How could I have expected that the very moment her skin grazed my reversed scale, it became clear to us both that the universe knew just what it was doing...the snow white beauty was my rider, mine."

A sad smile rested on Kaideon’s face as he lifted his gaze to Neveah.

"This was how I met your mother, Neveah. We were together for two years after...but no one knew of us but my most trusted friend, Rodvan."

"Rumours circulated around the White Dunes of why I was often away for months, but I never confirmed nor denied it." Kaideon revealed.

"But if my mother was your rider, and you were in turn her mate, why did you have to keep your relationship hidden? Why did you not take her back home with you?" Neveah asked in confusion.

"Believe me, Veah... I wanted that more than anything, I truly wanted that."

"But I could not dare be selfish in my desires and take your mother away from her people and her sworn duties, neither could I betray my own vows as Lord of the White Dunes."

"You see, your mother was not just any ordinary werewolf, she was the Alpha King of one of the four great domains, the Winter domain." Kaideon revealed.

Neveah’s jaws dropped, her eyes wide open in shock.

"Did you not know this? The Creator’s mark on you is only passed down through the generations of Alpha Kings of the Winter domain."

"It is not the same marking as that of the other domains." Kaideon said slowly.

Neveah shook her head in disbelief, a thousand thoughts running through her mind all at once.

So fast that Neveah could hardly decipher anyone in particular.

"Veah?" Kaideon called when Neveah just remained frozen in shock.

Neveah jumped to her feet, searching around Menarx’s room for a mirror or anything that could show her reflection.

Of course, there was no such ornament in Menarx’s room but Neveah did find a clear jade slab that did the job just fine.

Neveah lifted it to her view and pulled down the neck of her tunic, examining the creator’s mark she had.

Neveah recalled vividly the sight of Alessio’s creator’s mark which had been engraved on that night, it was surely the image of an eclipsing moon.

"An eclipsing moon for the Eclipse Domain..." Neveah murmured to herself.

But Neveah’s own Creator’s mark was not an eclipsing moon at all, it was a strange marking she had never quite understood.

But now that Neveah took another look, it became apparent to Neveah that the marking etched on her skin was a snow flake.

"An eclipsing moon for the Eclipse Domain...a snow flake for the Winter Domain." Neveah whispered.

All the books said there could not be two wolves of the same generation born with the Alpha King wolf, but Alessio and Neveah were a few years apart and both were born with the Alpha King wolf.

Neveah realized in this moment that Alessio and herself were both Alpha Kings, but all along, it was never of the same domain at all.

"How did I miss this all along?" Neveah whispered out in a tone thick with emotions.
